I briefly worked for CRE fortunately enough on the as a co driver. I had a legal matter to tend to which I had notified my fleet mgr in more than enough time that I could have been routed to the house. They did not get me home and it was rescheduled with only 6 days notice given to me by the courts. The fleet mgr took an I don't give a f**k attitude with me and demanded I move freight for CRE. I asked for a mutually agreeable place to park their truck and trailer on the weekend. Payback? No show

I have a question, to drive for C.R. england, do I need to have a Hazardous materials adorcement on the class A license to drive for this company?

yes i did work for them as an owner operator, their calling them independants, but they barly make over a company driver, the new varible milage rate of 14 cents a mile never go's down, cr england is steeling their profits. when england realized the independants wernt making any more money all the did was slow the trucks from 65 miles an hour to 62, now thats the independants profit, what is saved in fuel.

then you had the problems on your own! I have talked to lots of ICs, and even rode with several who EVERY ONE of them said the make AT LEAST double what they were as a company driver! Several of them even showed me their pay settlement sheet and showed that they are making way over that of a company driver.

@TheePoorboy currently know about 15 people still working as supposed independants, and all realize the are company drivers, all refure to their truck lease, as the cr england truck rental program, but if you look at it, it's really not a rental ether, useing the truck for personal convaence is now prohibited, get to a pick up, may have to wait all day, you are not allowed to use the truck to drive a mile down the road to get something to eat.

@rehclem Id rather work as a company driver then an owner operator. I have at times considered working as a truck driver but right now I have absolutely no trucking experience. So I dont know what year that will officially happen. But Id like to get into that field.

@MrWill1985 even as a company driver I would stay away from this company, their are other schools that will give you experance at a cheeper cost, you can go to a regular school for less then half of what England would charge you. England is a student mill, not a trucking company, they will get you a loan even with bad credit, knowing most will leave, and some will point out. after they get you the loan even if you leave two days later, you are responsible for the entire loan, England keeps it.

What makes you think there is no independant contractors for England? Have you ever worked for them? how can you PROVE they cheated you? I DID work for them and was very satisfied with their training and lease options, even from the sidelines. The only problem I experienced with their lease program was the raised price to purchase the truck at the end of the lease...

Do not ask for hometime while you are still training, I have been home for three weeks while they can't find a truck to put me into to finish my training!!! Otherwise they seem to be ok, but the only way to go solo otr is to lease your own truck.

DO NOT waste your time with lying scamming CR England. They are trying to force people into leasing their truck. All the money you make as a solo lease operator will go to pay for that truck. Why would their lease operators lie about that?

They get federal money for everyone who gets suckered into attending their CDL training school. I went to SLC and came home the next day. I wish they would send me a bill.

Thanks, I start their Mira Loma school tomorrow, Nov. 9th 2009, I agree, there are alot of gripes out there about England, and alot of compliments. Personally I don't see how any company can become one of the largest in the nation if all the complaints are true. If they are such a bad company, how do they keep growing? They must be doing something right. My Dad drove for the company for a while and enjoyed every minute.

I didn't think they were to bad, I was dedicated. Only problem I did see we were only suppose to stay out 5-7 days and get 2 days off. I was out for 2.5 weeks and when I got home, they had a run set up for me the following day. Of course I told them hell no, find someone else. Doesn't matter anyways, today was my last day due to a shoulder injury that may require surgery....

Most companies are going auto shift. When I was with USA Truck, I started out with a stick then went to an auto. I heard all trucks at some point were going automatic unless they were trainers. I left USA and just got picked up by CR England, not to mention I was offered a dedicated run with plenty of home time and killer pay. I can't wait and I leave this Saturday for IN on a damn Greyhound bus lol. Drive safe all...

Cr England is ok, if you dont have a family you want to see, I am on my 3rd month away from home. My DM is getting tired of my quale coms asking every day if he gots something going to my my home town, even after my recruter said Charleston SC is very popular .

I worked for England, and don't get me wrong some people have success if you have alot of money to live off of and put into it. But my experience was I worked there for 5 monthes and made 3500 dollars. They forcefeed the lease option down your throat and if you want to go be a company driver they will starve you and leave you sitting. Not to mention you will get the worst loads possible. And if you lease they force you to train or once again... you sit. England is not driver friendly at all

There are ONE positive things about CREngland for every 20 negative things. Believe me. They are horrible. Their schools are nothing but a scam - and when you're done, you make less money than a NY cab driver. And cab driving is a lot more fun and you're home every night - you get to shower every day instead of wiping your backside with a frigging baby wipe to feel clean.

One must only execute a web search on C. R. England to realize they have a poor reputation and a tendency to abuse drivers until they quit. Their training is a scam that generates the company money. I did look into working there but the metal detectors and the rent a cops at the terminal made a bad impression on me. If you are a company that has pissed off enough students and drivers that you need this level of "security", something is wrong, bad wrong. They are all about the money, the money they can wring out of a driver. If you or someone you know drives for them and is happy, that's fine. I just decided to shoot a lot higher.
