@MrNightranger86 Not true. Most Arab countries HATE communists with an exception of the few. They are highly capitalist. They have been for over a thousands of years. Large scale socialism hasn't been practiced that long but utterly failed, Which was shown under the USSR. China is become more free market oriented each year.
-I've seen the movie,is completely biased, shows a lot of people who borrowed a lot of money and didn't paid, had their collateral seized and now is playing victim, wants us to feel sorry for them, pointless.
Sammynasty... were do u get ur info Canadian do not pay 65% in taxes.... To so many people out there get ur facts straight first before u open ur mouth
People always want to point at Stalin and Mao as an example of why communism is a horrible idea, but no one ever talks about Benito Mussolini or Imperial Japan or even Adolf Hitler who was openly against the communists in Germany and had most of them executed. So to say that a system doesn't work by comparing it to people who just ruled with an iron fist and cut out rights seems to be ignoring the actual idea
@lunacomputacion I have a lot of sources. The Cuban Exile community in Miami, all the people who were killed trying to cross the Berlin wall, the absolutely sickening state of North Korea compared to the lavish lifestyle of their leader, the sweatshop labor in China, and of course there's Nazism, which is an acronym for NATIONAL SOCIALISM.
Do you need more? Because I can fill quite a few comment boxes with the shit I have.
@AmericanBadass44 That's right, most of them are examples of how people on top of society makes money and builds power, and gives a shit about killing millions. Which is not something strange to American capitalism. Some Americans tend to think that, if you hate Bush and hate to see the marines bombing cities and torturing prisoners, you hate the US. But I love the plane and the telephone e.g., and the Jefferson's statement of independence.
@AmericanBadass44 And there's a more interesting question, clouded by the ideological buzz. See, Russia was ruled by the Tsar, which allowed capitalism, but not democracy (so they didn't lose a freedom they didn't have). Soviet regime was succesfull at mitigating poverty and development (you can't easily turn a medieval nation to the 2nd industrial power in 50 years). But they failed once the ppl had a culture and money to spend (cont.)
@AmericanBadass44 So the moral seems that is easier for a fluent democracy to ensure people's housing, health care, education and all the typical social or "socialist" achievements than it was, for socialist states, to allow or increase freedom of choice. As long as the money is spent in meeting the common needs of people and not in warfare and bankrupcy rescues. I don't think Moore is proposing a soviet regime for the US, it would be absurd.
@lunacomputacion The problem is that democracy is just as impossible as Communism, or close to it in the world that we live in. It's a sad truth, but a truth nonetheless. Even the Athenians who created the idea of democracy didn't have it entirely democratic as they wanted it. There's always corruption and dishonesty.
Watch a Pre-January 8th copy of Inception. Listen closely when the actors say imagine, reality, and safe, or point pistols. You'll hear the words, Loughner, offin' her, part of the word Giffords, and much more. Some even say they hear, do it.
Mulle many Americans have been brainwashed into having a paranoid view of government and any welfare program and have forgotten Thomas Jefferson's words:"The business of government is to do for the people that which they are unable top do for themselves" ..i.e. build roads, hospitals, create educational programs etc..Only very insecure people are shaped by fear..maybe in 50 years Americans will understand that democracy and social welfare serve the people and that human dignity is important.
Capitalism is a way of controlling society, making the rich wealthier, and slaving workers to make "profits" for the "aristocracy" . In other words Capitalism is a form of oppression from the "superior to control the inferior". Capitalism is not lame at all; it's well controlled by educated people, but not rationale beings. R. Santiago

hello everybody. i am from Denmark and no, it is not the capital of sweden. as you may know, we pay high taxes in denmark. that could be the reason that our country isn't in deep shit right now. we dont like when americans call us communists when we are not. we all help eachother in denmark by paying 40% to 65% of our income. i dont know why you guys arent willing to learn from your own mistakes or even listning to what Michael Moore have to say. his arguments are bulletproof.

@FurtherIntel at least we still get more money than most americans do, even with the high taxes. plus we have free healthcare for all. AND we only have a 12% unemployment rate. low poverty and i could keep on going. You guys are working for scraps
@mulle9999 greetings from "Rio de Janeiro, capital of Argentina" LOL. We don't want a press monopoly; we are judging the Chicago School genocides; we want 82% retirement salary, we've been trying to push IMF off our backs, so we didn't collapse at the recent worlwide financial crack. I guess we're communists too.
@mulle9999 OH..well..you paying 65% of your income to your government or your queen, and your happy...HMMM...i wonder what economy system you live at...
@mulle9999 Yeah, and all that money goes to the costs of shipping over those Muslims from the middle east and to feed their dozens of hungry children and give them special benefits because, well if we dont we are racist. All that money goes to welfare for Muslims and foreigners.
@mulle9999 The problem is that it doesnt seem like its possible to raise taxes in the US because when an american hears the word taxes they run and scream
@mulle9999 Sadly you are right. I love America and I love capitalism and I have nothing against socialism. I just believe that capitalism works better and allows the people more freedom with their lives. Also I don't believe in people paying 40 to 60% of their income to the poor who are to lazy or have had some bad luck. The problem hear in America is that people have become greedy. One of the reasons we have become greedy is because we have become socialist..
@mulle9999 I remember the days when the poor family in my community had no reason to go on welfare and food stamps because me and people from my community would go and help them get food pay bills and help them with their future what happened 1year later that family became one of the richest in the state Making 1million a year because they started their own business witch was able to succeed because there we not many regulations
I have to believe that, after seeing this movie, that we may be in for a revolution - by the people, in the workplace, at the bank (switching to community banks and credit unions), and focusing on getting decent people into government.
We may just see more protests, but then, we may see more of the people taking to the microphone to speak truth to power.
Capital is the means of production. All countries are producing something therefore; they are all capitalist, where the difference is the ownership and control of the capital. In a Free Republic the capital is owned and controlled privately. In communism the state owns and controls the capital. All other governmental systems have a mixture of private and state ownership and control. Which Capital “Love Story” is Michael Moore infatuated with?
Should a 400 lb man advise us on the evils of over-consumption?
Should the resident of a million-dollar apartment claim to be a poster boy of the working class?
Should a person who thought that Enron was a great investment, that Ralph Nader, Wesley Clark and John Kerry would win, and that North Korea's Kim Jong was changing for the better, advise us on ANYTHING?
half truths? where? nobody ever actually has an example. very lame. why do you guys hate American working families? do you want your credit card company to steal from you? which side are you on anyway?
Micheal what are you doing?, America is not ready for the truth people rather get burn to learn hence wall street coming down you think that was co-incident hell no that shit has been in the works for a long time like i said people are not ready time will tell for them who knows maybe then it would be to late
The evolution of recent human history has been dominated by minority control over the majority, the rulers have come up with nessesary illusion for compliance and servitude of the many, Science and technology has created a world of plenty, but the market mechanism is about artificial scarcity to perpetuate poverty and exploitation in a modality of war, enviornmental destructions, animal cruelty and so on . The new paradigm is sharing the Earth for our collective needs and wellbeing
capitalism is effective till government butts in with the claim that "they" know better and regulate it to death---or at least to its knees.
It's all part of a grand scheme, not for the benefit of the common man as they'd like you to believe, but for the elites (see who donates to the democratic campaigns, it's those "fat cats", lol).
I see NWO (New World Order) or something sinister in this scheme
I like how the "reporter" claims that Moore has been "caught in half truths more than once" but doesn't bother to provide evidence of this highly contestable statement. Of course, she did say it pretty confidently so I guess that proves her right. Plus, if I heard some unidentified person on the internet saying something then it must be true.
anybody world wide whom is for fairness and equality is a lover micheal moore! im from the UK and i wish he'd come over here and show ppl just how fucking stupid "politics" really fucking is! old boys club, fuck you!
I have two problems with Michael Moore: 1.) Didn't he vote for Obama? So why is he upset about the bailouts? 2.) If it weren't for capitalism, he would not be the millionaire he is today. The premise of a movie is a nice idea, but extremely hypocritical on Moore's part.
@byronissexy Perhaps because like the rest of us Americans who don't have amnesia it wasn't Obama who got congress to approve the bailout, it was Bush ... you know, that guy who was president for 8 years, got us into two wars that cost 3 trillion dollars and then begged congress to give more money to the biggest banks after they squandered our money away in derivatives to begin with thanks to Ronald Reagan deregulating banks? That's why people voted for Obama, to stop this crap.
i like micheal moors films, he's a smart man, but does anyone find it ironic his movies make huge profits and he also is an overweight american? He's still brilliant though.
Liberals focus more on the negative rather than the positive. Michael Moore made so many dead end points in this movie. Socialism is not the cure for a bad economy. The amount of money Obama and Pelosi spent and gave to bail out other countries that don't even want to associate with us is way more than what Bush gave in bailouts. We might as well throw out the Constitution. I have never seen a President who doesn't like doing his job more than Obama.
@Grapes428 Now when the hell in the entire film did Moore even remotely suggest socialism over capitalism? Moore's key focus was giving the power back to the people to decide what they want the government to do with their money, rather than Wall Street. Now if you have actually bothered to watch the film (or if I actually have watched it, bother to understand it), you would have realize that.
Well, I think its fun to make fun of his immense mass bc I don't take him seriously, like many others. This guy makes the unintelligent believe capitalism = corrupt wall street, that it is only greed, and that those who are rich don't deserve what they have and should be portioned to the "less fortunate". The wealthiest pay the huge % of taxes, and they already pay for their welfare. To allow corrupt bureaucrats to decide how a persons income should be allocated is completely unjust and UNFAIR
@jazyF1, oh please dont rant about socialism or socialist countries since obviously you dont know what you're talking about and have pretty hard time understanding the words...
Capitalism has been in the world since human kind existed. Now when the economy is bad then capitalism is bad. So whats better? Socialism? Communism? What a bunch of stupid retards all of you are.
@latengocomoburro Maybe you need to realize that Democracy, Republic, Capitalism, Socialism or any other philosophical governmental / socio economical construct that is put into practice, comes in many various forms. They are only in fact ideas that can be shaped into utopias, or dictatorial tools. If you look at any country today, the original political and economical construct, that was good, are taking on unwanted proportions because they are not maintained sensibly on the political arena.
The downturn in the economy was brought about loose FED and government policies, and the progressive loons that enabled it deliberately for their own agenda. The money supply has doubled in the last year, ensuring that the currency will be devalued. There are anti-American forces at work and the progressives are working hand in hand with them.
@keyotikdragon Well, that would be the case if we lived in a meroticratic society. But we don't, so capitalism is not a "Darwinian principal", as you put it.
@keyotikdragon A meroticratic society is where everyone is born equal and with the same opportunities. This could not possibly exist in a capitalist society as those born to wealthier families will have a far greater chance of suceeding compared with those in the working class. They will have a better education, more time to study without having to worry about other resposibilities, and greater access to other resources.
It would be very helpful if you would include subtitles for those of us who are hearing impaired. Please consider it. I'm certain there are many of us who would be most grateful.

God that script this bimbo was given to read from was so annoying.
Still going to try to watch this film. I'm on the fence with Moore. I agree with of the apparent intentions behind some of his films, but his overall messages I find to be very misguided, and his research and facts are often inaccurate.
No question that his films will make you think and open up debates on the subject, whether you agree or disagree with his viewpoints. And they're often entertaining in their own way.
Problem with the US is the special interest groups own the country, it's run by Wall St. which is a den of thieves, where's the $40 billion Madoff stole, The US citizen supports militarism and zionism, more US money is spent on the personal benefits of Israelis than on US citizens themselves. Watch Sicko and see the huge extortion perpetrated on citizens by the medico/drug enterprises.
Michael Moore isn't touching any nerves this time. Healthcare and terrorism are divisive, but everyone seems to agree the banks didn't deserve their bailouts (at least not morally).
We're watching it next week and we can't wait! Moore does such a good job of making the horror of it all funny. The trailer was awesome! Thanks for posting.
BTW, for people who are too brain washed or who are under mind control and will have a heart attack if they watch anything other than the nazi fascist ignorant propaganda they are designed to digest, Moore films are funny!
Also, some of the greatest democracies of the world were built on SOCIALIST principle. "We the people" for example.
hubbabubba66, yes it is is'nt it. Awesome! Cannot wait to see the next one, I read earlier in this post that they are showing it on mo v i e - h u b . n e t

Fascism: A Love Story
would be a more apt title, but Michael Moore is always so quick to demonize capitalism and glorify socialism (yes the economic and political system responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths), that he would rather outright lie rather than call it for what it is.
Corporatism is economic fascism, not capitalism. Let's use some of that 5th grade knowledge shall we folks?
"socialism (yes the economic and political system responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths)" LoL Oh, you're serious? Maybe you should get your head out of your cold war propaganda filled ass.
Ok, if socialism is so terrible, why is Canada, the country neighbouring the US, socialist? and yet, there is far less ( though there is still some ) corruption there?
a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
2.
procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3.
(in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.
@Cliffe4567 yes, i really agree with you. my comment was really directed at the common perspective that socialism and communism are the "same". but, i do think that communism is more prone to dictatorship than is socialism. (i am not a socialist )
@wimscheers well its true millions starved in Russia cause of Stalins restructuring of the economy he tried to control every aspect of agriculture and displaced people from their farms and couldn't feed themselves
Stalin was a totalitarian communist. Please tell me how "to control every aspect of agriculture and displaced people from their farms" has anything to do with socialism?
@wimscheers Do you or your kids go to school? That's socialism. Do you use the public sidewalks? That's socialism. Do you drive on highways? That's socialism. Do you currently oppose the war? That's socialism. Were you against the $700B bailout? That's socialism. Do you like the idea of alternative energy? You guessed it, that's socialism.
@TheRealJHanson hi there, you seem to be a socialist. i'm a little short on my mortgage this month, about 850 dollars. Can you help me out any? Maybe a collected effort of 50 bucks from each of your friends? Perhaps half your check?
@pondfrog3 Quote: "hi there, you seem to be a socialist. i'm a little short on my mortgage this month, about 850 dollars. Can you help me out any? Maybe a collected effort of 50 bucks from each of your friends? Perhaps half your check?" .... right...
@wimscheers Capitalism was responsible for 'hundreds of millions of deaths'', because the devastation of war. Capitalism is now taking the world to an end when WWIII get started.
Capitalism is immoral, pure logics of animals, valuation of nature, a thought of non-sense.
@zshuai Fascism and Japanese aggression was responsible for WW2. America didn't want to get in it. Although we were dragged when France fell Britain was begin attacked. Also the slaughter of million when the government controls your and if u speak of the atrocities or of them and their complete control u die. Your stupidity make me want to hit my head on the wall. I'm sad to inform you that you have no idea what your talking about. The one flaw in your logic. This is Earth.
@zshuai Communism was responsible for the deaths of thousands of people who took a stand for there religion or political beliefs. The USSR was a empire dedicated to forceing its citizens to agree and it was flawd by allowing full power to the leader of the Party. the same thing with other current comi countries except North Korea took this to an extreme by creating a personality cult and China watered it down abit. Dont talk about things before you research. And you call me an animalwhenyousupp-
i thought the american dream was about working hard and being free to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
unfortunatly however, most people are unable to do so becos the fruits of their labour are taken from them by their employer. this is theft, however, they have the law on theirside so it does not count as theft, but "buisiness".
the only way to avoid this is to work for yourself or work in a co-operative
"If you want something, work for it. If you do not work, you deserve nothing. Regardless of how rich the rich are. "
but the rich are rich because they steal from the working class, making them poor. this occurs becos they own the means of production and they keep all the profits, when they did no work themselves and it was the workers who earned those profits, and thus they are the ones who should have them.
What half truth ? Look on his site he has every single fact from his movies listed with the source as well. Lady shut up you don't know anything or more so the parrot that wrote your lines.
LOL Come on, really? Do American people actually read or do you just make stuff up/believe your media without question? I'm sure a lot of you do read but the ones that don't, like this clown, really make the rest of you look spectacularly stupid.
Look at the human development index, the index for living standards and you'll see that the USA is not even in the top 10. Even Canada is higher than you :D. The UK, where i'm from, is even lower. The UK's a shit hole! Least I admit it though.
Far left FAR LEFT? Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha, that's the most amusing thing i've heard in quite some time. Labour may claim to be socialist but they abandoned their roots long ago, they have just carried on Neo Liberal policies.
I suggest you actually do some reading before you post further and make an even bigger tit of yourself.
Sure the US has a very high standard of living but it's not the best. What makes it even more amusing is that nearly all the top 10 countries have left leaning governments with universal health care and generous welfare for people out of work.
Interesting that eh? I bet you right wingers can't stand it can ya? Frothing at the mouth because the evidence contradicts your capitalist bullshit and proves that social democracy creates the best societies :D.
Also the human development index does not take into account freedom and human rights. Maybe these countries do have a better GDP but in regards to how much freedom? I personally would rather have freedom than money.
Spoken like a true capitalist Yank. Everything has to be measured in GDP doesn't it? Do you actually read anything? The HDI measures on literacy rates, health and longevity, not just GDP.
Talking about human rights, you seriously wanna use that to prop up your pathetic argument? Are you seriously suggesting that countries like Norway, Canada, Holland, Sweden etc carry out serious human rights abuses and the people aren't free?
Seriously, you're looking like a deluded tool now.
You have conniptions like a barbaric ruffian. I read consistently and am very well-informed, if you would like to debate stop presenting yourself as an arrogant savage. The UK is a far left country, there is simply no refuting that point. And America has an extremely large population, making it difficult to account for every individual. We also are much more benevolent than any other country. 100 nations would go hungry without the US. Maybe at this point we are not #1, but we have been b4.
Ruffian? LOL I didn't realise we were living in the 1930s. That point can be easily refuted by the fact I live in the UK and you don't, this country isn't far left AT ALL. Far left is communism and believe me this is far from being a communist country. I'll let you off though because you're a yank, and many yanks think anywhere with universal health care and unemployment benefit is some communist dictatorship.
Seriously, you are massively uninformed if you think the US is benevolent. Your country has attacked more countries than anyone else since the end of WW2 and we ride on your rancid coat tails.
Large population is an extremely pathetic excuse but that appears to be all you have. You've never been number 1 and you never will be because your country is a selfish, individualist, plastic shit hole and it's a dying empire.
Read WHO reports on what American corporations do to third world countries, take a look at how you exploit workers for fuck all pay, read about vulture funds. Read about how countries can't provide public services because of the US dominated IMF forcing them to service crippling debts, read about economic restructuring, and then get back to me.
My point in all this is I find it difficult to find Americans who acknowledge the crimes committed by their government. Instead you just waffle on about how you save the world from all sorts of evil whereas you actually create vast amounts of it. There's a reason why the world hates the UK and the US, it's because between us we've been brutal, war mongering assholes for the past 400 years or so.
We still do it but you've taken the lead role now. Admit it, then move on, simple.
Were it not for General Patton you would've had your arses wiped all over the Ardennes Forrest. Oh and let's not forget how that great American company, IBM, allowed for efficiency in the Holocaust.
Let's also not kid ourselves that the US entered the war out of the goodness of your hearts, you entered both wars (late) because you saw an opportunity to make money, not because you gave a shit about Europe (and why would you?).
The only reason America entered the war is because the Bush's and many others found an opportunity to make all lot of money...and that they did. I cannot control the immoral nature of our leaders, as every country has such corruption. But to be optimistic you must give both European nations and America alike credit. We have not enslaved our people nor have oppressed them to such extremities as have other countries. Euro-American culture is also responsible for the blunt of innovation.
Granted, so if you follow that line of logic doesn't it just show that all states are illegitimate power structures that ultimately serve the interests of an elite few and therefore should be done away with? They will, IMO, eventually eat themselves anyway because more and more will realise that institutions cannot provide for all their needs.
No we haven't enslaved our own citizens as much, we've just brutalised and enslaved the citizens of other countries. Slave trade, genocide of native Americans, starving to death millions of Indians. Bringing it up to modern times our corporations now pay people poverty wages in our own countries, more so abroad, and have forced people into a race to the bottom with fewer jobs for less pay. Corporations hold the power, governments are just there to take the wrath.
@ChunderChunk Finally someone else that gets it. "Corporations hold the power, governments are there to take the wrath". Thank you, thank you, thank you. Keep up the good work bruddah.
I feel bad for the americans.. Creepy how some of them even see Obama as a socialist.. come to Denmark and see how things are. If you were to put Obama into Danish politics, he would be considered as a pretty right-wing guy, si I think some of you need to chill.

I have two problems with Michael Moore: 1.) Didn't he vote for Obama? So why is he upset about the bailouts? 2.) If it weren't for capitalism, he would not be the millionaire he is today. The premise of a movie is a nice idea, but extremely hypocritical on Moore's part.
byronissexy 1 year ago
@byronissexy Perhaps because like the rest of us Americans who don't have amnesia it wasn't Obama who got congress to approve the bailout, it was Bush ... you know, that guy who was president for 8 years, got us into two wars that cost 3 trillion dollars and then begged congress to give more money to the biggest banks after they squandered our money away in derivatives to begin with thanks to Ronald Reagan deregulating banks? That's why people voted for Obama, to stop this crap.

Grapes428 1 year ago
@Grapes428 Now when the hell in the entire film did Moore even remotely suggest socialism over capitalism? Moore's key focus was giving the power back to the people to decide what they want the government to do with their money, rather than Wall Street. Now if you have actually bothered to watch the film (or if I actually have watched it, bother to understand it), you would have realize that.

@keyotikdragon A meroticratic society is where everyone is born equal and with the same opportunities.
And they're often entertaining in their own way.

would be a more apt title, but Michael Moore is always so quick to demonize capitalism and glorify socialism (yes the economic and political system responsible for hundreds of millions of deaths), that he would rather outright lie rather than call it for what it is.

i thought the american dream was about working hard and being free to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
unfortunatly however, most people are unable to do so becos the fruits of their labour are taken from them by their employer. this is theft, however, they have the law on theirside so it does not count as theft, but "buisiness".
the only way to avoid this is to work for yourself or work in a co-operative
ichigo199 2 years ago
"If you want something, work for it. If you do not work, you deserve nothing. Regardless of how rich the rich are. "
but the rich are rich because they steal from the working class, making them poor. this occurs becos they own the means of production and they keep all the profits, when they did no work themselves and it was the workers who earned those profits, and thus they are the ones who should have them.

ChunderChunk 2 years ago
The UK is a far left country.
getdjman 2 years ago
Far left FAR LEFT? Bah ha ha ha ha ha ha, that's the most amusing thing i've heard in quite some time. Labour may claim to be socialist but they abandoned their roots long ago, they have just carried on Neo Liberal policies.
I suggest you actually do some reading before you post further and make an even bigger tit of yourself.
ChunderChunk 2 years ago
Sure the US has a very high standard of living but it's not the best. What makes it even more amusing is that nearly all the top 10 countries have left leaning governments with universal health care and generous welfare for people out of work.
Interesting that eh? I bet you right wingers can't stand it can ya? Frothing at the mouth because the evidence contradicts your capitalist bullshit and proves that social democracy creates the best societies :D.
ChunderChunk 2 years ago
Also the human development index does not take into account freedom and human rights. Maybe these countries do have a better GDP but in regards to how much freedom? I personally would rather have freedom than money.
getdjman 2 years ago
Spoken like a true capitalist Yank. Everything has to be measured in GDP doesn't it? Do you actually read anything? The HDI measures on literacy rates, health and longevity, not just GDP.
Talking about human rights, you seriously wanna use that to prop up your pathetic argument? Are you seriously suggesting that countries like Norway, Canada, Holland, Sweden etc carry out serious human rights abuses and the people aren't free?
Seriously, you're looking like a deluded tool now.
ChunderChunk 2 years ago
You have conniptions like a barbaric ruffian. I read consistently and am very well-informed, if you would like to debate stop presenting yourself as an arrogant savage. The UK is a far left country, there is simply no refuting that point. And America has an extremely large population, making it difficult to account for every individual. We also are much more benevolent than any other country. 100 nations would go hungry without the US. Maybe at this point we are not #1, but we have been b4.
getdjman 2 years ago
ChunderChunk 2 years ago
Seriously, you are massively uninformed if you think the US is benevolent. Your country has attacked more countries than anyone else since the end of WW2 and we ride on your rancid coat tails.
Large population is an extremely pathetic excuse but that appears to be all you have. You've never been number 1 and you never will be because your country is a selfish, individualist, plastic shit hole and it's a dying empire.
