@ThatWierdoAsianGuy ok thanks, but how would that embarres myself when signing up it's not like they make u take a spelling test for the Marines to make sure u spell it right. lol
can some one please tell me how him running over helped? iv been puzzled for ages about this and it ruins the scene for me because it seems so pointless.
@isthisnameabittolong E Company was pinned down because they were following the orders that Lt. Dyke gave them. I Company was coming in from a different direction than E Company was. However, neither company had a way to communicate with one another the change of plan when the assault started. Spiers went to I Company and relayed the plan to them. He could've stayed with I Company and fought his way back to E Company, but instead he ran back to his man to finish the fight with them.
I know nobody wants to hear this here, but in real battle it is not very smart to do something like that, as brutal as it may seem his life is worth more than the life of a simple private. thats why he should have send a private to do the job same reason winters wasn't allowed to go into battle. still pretty cool though
@STEHH87 the adrenalin waspumping and if u havent noticed its called 'band of brothers' so hes not gonna sent one of his friends or even a private he doesnt know on a suicide mission.
@MaTchBoOkPoEt It did. Actually did; many men from E Company recall it. Also, none of them are really sure whether Spiers actually did kill those POWs. He never told them a straight answer.
@ImNotSimon I have not personally read it's said that in Winters biography he recalled that Speirs DID kill 6 german POWS, did shoot one of his own sergeants for disobeying orders under fire, and did charge a fortified german artillery position on D-Day.
That's mentioned in Winters' autobiography 'Beyond Band of Brothers', but he's not 100% on either of the killing rumours. Guarnere is much more upfront about not taking prisoners in his memoir.
Cod? Whatever gave you the idea that I thought that this depiction of a real life event during the second world war was not that, but a rather pointy looking fish that lives in cold water?
It doesn't matter whether he was seen or not. Whoever was inside the tiger felt his presence and knew better than to stay in the way.
BTW, it's fucking retarded how when you google "cod" you have to go four entries down to get to the fucking fish.
@yiannickieboy As are you, if the horrible spelling/grammar serves as a symptom. Which it should, seeing how MW2 fanboys ARE more often than not braindamaged/12-years old.
I know my grammar will be shit, cause im 14 years old (NOT A STUPID 12 YEAR OLD IM ALMOST 15) i still study english class at school. but what do you mean?
Check out Brotherhood of Leet at my youtube channel - a re-imagining of WW2 dramas like Band of Brothers as if they were set during the 8 bit wars of the 1980s where Nintendo and Sega are waring nations.
During this battle (Foy,Germany), Capt. Richard Winters ordered LT. Speirs to relieve"Foxhole Norman" Dike of command. To countermand this order, Speirs himself ran through the town and German lines (as this platoon had no radio), linked up with the other soldiers, and relayed the order. Having completed this, he proceeded to run back through the German-occupied town. Spiers was reassigned as commanding officer of Easy Company and remained in that position for the rest of the war.Retired Lt.Col
The truth is most people can't hit a moving target without a lot of luck. A true born warrior like Spears probably knew that the combination of surprise and speed would keep him safe. Since he had gigantic balls of solid steel and a decisive temperament, he coolly made his move to link up and give orders to his cut off men. You can train and train a soldier but that sort of war-sense is inborn, not made.
lol, pretty fucking badass. what happened was, there were 2 groups on each side of this little battle. so this crazy motherfucker right here run all the way threw the germans group, hooks up with our friends on the otherside and then runs all the way back threw the germans. basically running past all these germans just to go talk to the americans on the otherside of town.

Don't forget it's very dangerous to turn around and shoot towards your own lines. You could easily hit one of your own side.
Once he had crossed the German line they probably didn't know what to do and decided it was safer to let him run through their lines.
