  • linux actually looks decent.

  • look weird, but i suppose im just a Windows and Mac user

  • can I still play games made for windows on this? E.g. Call of duty modern warfare 2 for PC, and on the back when it says for windows, can I still play them games? If not can I buy games like that for linux?

  • you have two options for the games in linux.

one would be using wine to run windows applications.

two would be going to ubuntu's website. and going to the alternate downloads list. and using the installer for windows. it'll install ubuntu from windows, and allow you to dual boot (when you start your comp it'll ask which OS to load)

  • Looks very nice, I like it.

  • Question, is there a movie making program with Ubuntu or Mint so I can post music vids?

  • Use cinelerra

  • Yes, Kino or kdenlive will be what you are looking for.

  • many movie making programs exist for linux. a couple can be found just by typing "movie" in the package manager that comes OOTB with buntu. i'm pretty sure open movie editor is one of them.

  • No but you can download virtual dub (WAY better than Windows Movie Maker) there other high end video editing tools if you search for it.

  • Mint works alot better on mah laptop than Ubuntu: the fan works better and flash/javascript work perfectly. Mint ftw. im on mint 7 right now

  • Mint is Ubuntu with tweaks.

  • They're both linux.

    Don't fight the same side.

  • i prefer lm8 over ubuntu 9.10 because it has flash installed and thunderbird email client for my gmail account.install lm8 and ready to go! both systems have firefox 3.5.3 installed.

  • @steve89z

You can just install flash and thunderbird? lol

  • i realize that but mint also has right click format, automatic boot transmission etc.

  • Mint is awesome. If all you do is browse the web, use basic Word Processor and just want a solid built OS, you don't need a Windows or Mac OS.

One question, is the GUFW firewall any good or should I install Firestarter?

  • Firestarter is the best!

  • I'm curious why someone would want to install both Ubuntu and Mint? Mint is based on Ubuntu.

  • Thats nice!

  • Can you install Linux Mint, even though you have win 7 and ubuntu installed already? Just asking :D

  • Yes, you can. I have Ubuntu 9.10,Windows 7 and Linux Mint 7 on my machine

  • yes

  • nice

  • Good demo. I wish you would use some audio in your videos though.
