  • This should've been released as a single.

  • Remember buying Please on LP for the first time in 1991. Life was never the same again...lol.

  • Loving the look on the Floor Manager's face when he realises he's crashed the shot at 1:05...."bollocks!!!"

  • Their music has always moved be like no other musicians since.

  • The whole album is good!!!!

  • I remember when I bought the cassette in 1985 I was what 14, 15 something like that Damn how time flys. all thats left are tme great memories. thankx for the vid..

  • @Sche13e well, it's their first album...and we're talking about 1985...it wasn't so easy to find a good production team as today! Neil said this in their 'A Life In Pop' documentary

  • Absolutely love this. They were the days for music - the synthesizers, the lyrics, the tunes. Brings back fond memories.

  • I miss those days of good music.

  • i think those couple of pints beforehand has caused Neil to have a Geordie accent relapse! :)

  • hahahaha classic!

  • I remember watching this!

    The Tube was great.

  • Cool Boys.

And,what the hell are these people doing? Can they be called "audience"?

  • the reason why neil sounds out of tune is because he drunk five pints of beer before he sung it see please further listening

  • god the people in the crowd look so stiff and uptight if i was there id set the tempo with my dancing hehe

  • aww neil so cute

  • ouch!

  • Hopefully you'll be depopulated from Earth soon.

  • Neil couldnt be more adorable!

  • NEIL AND CHRIS ARE "charming".

THIS VIDEO IS PART OF THE TIME OF YOUR HOME. AND IS THE GREAT timidly THAT NEIL WAS, BUT KEEPING ITS SIMPLE, sweetness, and beauty, "that to this day, preserved."

CHRIS IS a ray of sunshine! AND NEIL, "HEART IS A MAN! ... A dream made man! AND NOW, IN 2009 ... STILL BEAUTIFUL. And his talent, is refined every day. Are admirable! !!

  • this sounds great Neil dont worry we loooooove you guys forever

  • really good

  • Hey Guys they Remixed the Song and Put it into their new album 'Yes'! and it's great. the Album's really good, go and listen!!!

  • one of my fav during psb early days... and i still luv it !

  • see Chris lowe diss Neil about the hat at the start of the song!!! as in take in off!!! they so oppsosite to each other its ace!!! but after Very they did lose their misteeque!!!!!

  • I'm straight but sayin Neil is soo cool sweet, use2 copy him like hell when I was in school!

  • i would love to copy him but what kind i'm talking about the hat i like and his songs =] i mean how did he become famous? it's just hard to start it's like i do know and i don't

  • No its just the way he presents himself he's so articulate, well spoken I use2 as a teen talk like him, he's gay, but it got me loads of girls!!!I do a good Neil impression lol!!!

  • okayyy

  • THis is a great track. cool thing they didnt just play some single

  • I always thought that in the early preformances, Neal borrowed a little bit from "Savage" as well.

  • Просто ностальгия!

  • lol those vocals need autotune badly

  • Neil writes about how terible his performance is on this show. He blames it on a two hour delay in the first and second song....He drank 4 pints! He said he wanted this to be a single but this ruined it.

  • Comment removed

  • I cant help thinking that Neil is trying to look like Savage (Italo Disco singer) with his hat !!!!.

  • maybe it was the mic xD the mic is always fucked up at the tube xD check soft cell where the heart is at the tube xD (i'm joking by the way)

  • great song.dont they look younger there.great year for me 1986,personally.

  • Improve the sound quality... Type in &fmt=18 at the end of the URL address! ;o)

  • I found this song last week and really like it!

  • I found this song like 23 years ago and i still like it!

  • I think his voice is fine-the sound is a bit dodgy in places-Not one out of Morrissey, Neil Tennant,Nico, John Lydon, Ian Brown, Bernard Sumner, etc etc would make it through the 1st audition of Pop Idol, and theyre probably some of the most distinctive voices of the last 30 years.

  • Even their worst performance is better than mediocre...

  • I am glad this was posted here, so I can add it to my personal playlist that chronicles PSB's interviews over the years! :-) Thank you, Pertan!!! Keep watching the aircraft approaching Arlanda airport, because... Neil & Chris may be in one of those anytime!

  • where can this be found?

  • this is must be digital

  • Neil drank to much beers. Lol! :D

  • he starts a bit crap but it's fine by the end. Chris trying to undermine Neil right at the beginning... interesting brief moment...

  • Thanks a lot for posting pertan, great video!

  • im from newcastle where neils from and the tube lol , memories

  • ... "You know when someone sings on the television and you say. 'Wow, she really can't sing'. This was my, 'Wow, he really really can't sing'. And during the drum break in the middle I couldn't think of anything to do, so I just turned my back on the camera. I thought they could film Chris."

  • Neil wasn't at all satisfied with how he sang on this show. Here's his comment on this (you can read this in the booklet of Please CD edition):

"...We than had to wait two hours, during which time I drank four pints of beer, than I had to sing 'Tonight is forever'. You have never heared anything worse in your entire life... "

  • hey, which version of the please cd is ? the normal version or with the further listening version ?

  • I dont think you can get it in Normal version, it has to be in further listening or a special edition released with boolets. Please, Disco, Actually and one more i think.

  • MY GOD...! That is LOT of beer - no wonder his voice didn't come out quite right.... ;-(

BUT, I still LOVE Neil and Chris! I am GLAD Neil was sharing the spotlight with Chris :-D

  • lol, yeah i read that! i just never thought i would see it! ^^ lol, he's foxed so i dont blame him! he didnt sound that bad tho!

  • i don't think it is bad too.....Neil is indeed singing live and I think it is really brilliant - good as playing the CD!

  • it's such an original song this......can't think of were it fits in to any genre. Sheer brilliance and with a touch of icy sadness thrown in somewhere. Melancholy and sharp and evocative.....

  • neil Tennant is so sexy...

  • psb forever xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx legends xxxxxxxx if u know them

  • he was still new at that time....so there was certainly rm for improvement in live

  • oh sanx lord fo youtube.... it was great :)

  • Chris only plays a few notes over and over again and the rest must be programed or taped. They didn't have large hard drives to do that much back then.

  • What??? Large Hard drives?, Talk Sense man, its a backing track!!! Chris is Miming the bass line, which is normally run of a sequencer....

  • They used large hard drives to store most of their info.

Check out the machines section of their Performance tour book and you will see the following hard drives:

    Ricoh HD

    AKai S1000 HD

  • Ya ! Read the book shortly after the Dublin performance show in '91 Still have the book somewhere....

  • Akai S1000 is a sampler. The only stuff stored on the hard drives were the samples themselves so they could be triggered by the samplers. The first tour used six of these plus 4 Roland MKS-50 synth modules and a Roland U-110, all driven from two Roland A-50 keyboards played by Chris and Dominic and two Roland MC500mk2 sequencers.

  • did,nt think i,d ever see the day when i see this, great song from please this, love chris,s coat

  • i was there that night superb boys xxx

  • They were sooo sweet back in the 1980s.

  • the whole lot is incredibly british luv it! ahh the 80's

  • he's singing a little false.. but it's quite funny!

  • Neil said in the liner notes to Please (Remaster Edition 2001) that this is PSB:s worst television appearance ever. I dont it's that bad.

  • Very early clip, Well done pertan.
