@allset900 actually, it's vice versa, Laibach's God is God is a cover/revision of Juno Reactor's song, look it up :) Even though Juno's album Bible of Dreams (that features God is God) came out almost a year after Laibach's Jesus Christ Superstars, the song itself was composed way before that by Ben Watkins, Juno Reactor's mastermind, and he is given credit for that on Laibach's album.

As it was mentioned already, Laibach's method is simple and effective, music isn't complicated, lyrics are extremely simple, but at the same time extremely powerful and appealing. I can truthfully say that this song arouses a lot of different emotions in me, it's mood is just so full of irony, falseness, etc. It is not that easy to create something that evokes so much feelings. Only few are succesful at this.

It's obvious that people that say Rammstein copied from Laibach know nothing about Rammstein. Yes Rammstein admitted they were influenced by Laibach just like they have said they were influenced by many other bands. All artists are influenced by somebody. Many of Laibach's songs that sound somewhat like Rammstein were released after Rammstein became worldwide famous, so I can argue that now Laibach copied Rammstein, but I don't because they are very different, both good but different.

Most people talking about them here don't understand that this is not really supposed to be "good" music or "good" lyrics. This is from Jesus Christ Superstar. They did a lot of ridiculous covers set to absurd fascist/communist themes to make points most of us don't grasp. Laibach is difficult to really understand especially if we are not from the former Yugoslav countries and can't see all the layers of political/cultural satire happening. Look in to other works of Neue Slowenische Kunst.

You do need some affinity with the history of Europe and the heritage of totalitarian regimes (fascism, communism, nazism,...) to really connect to their message, if you ask me.
