I have a golden retriever grate Pyrenees mix. He is the most gentlest dog I have ever known, he dose bark to let me know when some ones around, but that’s it. He is in a fenced in yard, not to protect people but to protect my dog from stupid people. A meter man came by, He tried to pepper spray him but I caught him he’s no longer employed. He didn’t even need to enter the yard to scan eather.

I don't think they did this for 'the hell of it'. Im sure they were answering complaints from your neighbours. Seems to me your dog was allowed pretty close to the street even if it was chained. If I had a small child in the neighbourhood, I would be concerned too.

The dog being chained was not enough because it looks as if the chain itself was pretty long so neighbors probably felt unsafe and as we all know Pits are REALLY strong with a high tolerance of pain so had the right motivation come along. Chaining your dog in the front or leaving them in the backyard unsupervised is not adequate exercise or stimulation for a large dog. I have two German shepherd and they live in the house with no problems.
I walk my babies twice a day. About 45 min to an hour each time. I do it once in the morning before starting my day and again in the evening around 8pm (after my work). They don't cause troubles indoor. On rare occasion they might chew up a shoe, but that's when they are left alone for an abnormal amount of time or don't get exercised. Anyway... In regards to the video... I don't know this dog owner so I can't judge how well they take care of their dog or if they provide adequate exercise and nurturing. Perhaps they just chain the dog to the front on occasion. However, if chaining up their dog in the front is what they consider "taking it out" or "exercise", then I feel sorry for this dog.

The owner of this dog is lying. 3 animal control officers don't drive around with nothing to do but going after peoples dogs that are chained up. This dog was aggressive at some point and probably bit someone and these officer got a call. My little brother's face was half ripped off by a loose German Shepard. Not sure where you live but last night my dog was tied up in a neighbors backyard (our house is being totally renovated) and we were advised that a police officer went into a second neighbors yard towards our dog (who jumped onto the fence) - the officer said he felt threatened (afraid of being bit) and so he pepper sprayed our dog (she was tied up on the OTHER side of the fence). I really don't understand, why people get aggresive dogs. My dog was killed by one of theese in the forest, because it had no muzzle and wasn't on a lish. Two months ago I was attacked by a Pitbull, who broke the chain and jumped over the fence. Sucker bit me several times, I could have died there! I managed to put fingers in his eyes though, so deep, the dog is blind for sure now. I've bought a can of pepper spray now, but I really think about a knife, just in case. Third time lucky, they say.

There had to be a reason they where there, and the dog was an obstacle between them and the home. "You can't keep them inside" ?? Says who??? Perhaps if you never walk your dog or provide stimulation and discipline it may act up indoors. Chaining your dog in the front or leaving them in the backyard unsupervised is not adequate exercise or stimulation for a large dog. I have two German shepherd and they live in the house with no problems.

I walk my babies twice a day. About 45 min to an hour each time. I do it once in the morning before starting my day and again in the evening around 8pm (after my work). They don't cause troubles indoor. On rare occasion they might chew up a shoe, but that's when they are left alone for an abnormal amount of time or don't get exercised. Anyway... In regards to the video... I don't know this dog owner so I can't judge how well they take care of their dog or if they provide adequate exercise and nurturing. Perhaps they just chain the dog to the front on occasion. However, if chaining up their dog in the front is what they consider "taking it out" or "exercise", then I feel sorry for this dog.

Of course every dog can be born with an aggressive character but there are differences between the races. If Chihuahuas had the heights and strengths of a pitbull they'd easily become the most dangerous dogs... ;)

I'm a Humane Officer for an SPCA, it is the owner not the breed and I don't see why they sprayed and took the dog to begin with. I pick up dogs that are stray or attacked someone or another animal, This dog was chained up and on the owners property, perfectly fine and legal in my state. Your SPCA is right I would sue over this.

The owner of this dog is lying. 3 animal control officers don't drive around with nothing to do but going after peoples dogs that are chained up. This dog was aggressive at some point and probably bit someone and these officer got a call. My little brother's face was half ripped off by a loose German Shepard. I love dogs and own 2 and I still say pit-bulls are dangerous as hell.

Chained in an unfenced front yard, it obviously frightened people, AC officers don't waste gas and time hunting Pit Bulls for fun, they had to be called out. If this yard is the same size as the one across the street, this dog could easily leave the boundries of his yard and get onto the neighbors yard or driveway. NOBODY should have their dog on a chain for 1, that's illegal in most states now, unsurpervised tethering is inhumane, Pit Bull or not.

They do that with dogs that have caused trouble. In TX you can shoot those for free no questions asked if they're not on a leash. There was a contractor that let his 3 dogs out of his truck while he was working and they ran a homeowner into his house. Not sure where you live but last night my dog was tied up in a neighbors backyard (our house is being totally renovated) and we were advised that a police officer went into a second neighbors yard towards our dog (who jumped onto the fence) - the officer said he felt threatened (afraid of being bit) and so he pepper sprayed our dog (she was tied up on the OTHER side of the fence). I really don't understand, why people get aggresive dogs. My dog was killed by one of theese in the forest, because it had no muzzle and wasn't on a lish. Two months ago I was attacked by a Pitbull, who broke the chain and jumped over the fence. Sucker bit me several times, I could have died there! I managed to put fingers in his eyes though, so deep, the dog is blind for sure now. I've bought a can of pepper spray now, but I really think about a knife, just in case. Third time lucky, they say.

its not the breed ive owned 3 american pits and a yellow lab and the piits behaved better than the lab the pits have never bitten a single person or animal ever and many of my friends pits have never bitten anything ever unless you count their chew toys if you want to point blame at aggressive and unpredictable dogs look at the full grown poodle (not toy) or a dalmatian these animals bite and snap at people more than any other species of well trained dogs so dont blame pits blame their trainer

The police don't spend their time driving around for no reason looking for teathered dogs on private property to abuse. There had to be a reason they where there, and the dog was an obstacle between them and the home. I love dogs and have always had one, and I don't have anything in particular against pit bulls, but they have been selectively bred for hundreds of years to be aggressive, violent animals. That doesn't mean they are all that way, but the police can't take a chance.
