  • Mike Douglas did a horrible job introducing Natalie.

If this is from October 1978 as I believe, Natalie had recently turned 40. Yet he's making her sound like this old lady. "In the 1950s my next guest was one of Hollywood's prettiest and most talented actresses" -- Natalie was age 11 in the beginning of the 1950s and age 21 at the end of the decade. He is not flattering her at all.

  • i bet ya her husband killed her

  • I get tears in my eyes watching this!!! Lucy is my favorite actress of all time, and to see her interviewing another one of my favorites is heaven. Thank you so much for sharing this!

  • most attractive eyes in human history. just my opinion.

  • Wow, where did you get this interview from? I bet you anything it doesn't exist anymore in the official Mike Douglas Show archives?? Did you say that you taped it yourself? That's incredible because in 1979 not many people had video recorders.. Can you tell us all a bit more about how you came to record it, and keep it preserved in such great shape for over 30 years? Thank you (I wish someone had done the same for Judy Garland On "The Merv Griffin Show" in 1968, which is now lost!!)

  • @Davidalp1 Are you sure I think it is on here on YOU Tube Judy Garland on Merv Griffin are you sure it was deleted.

  • It's hard to believe that such a lovely lady who was so full of life and beauty is already gone.

  • For me it was and remains the most beautiful actress.

  • If you mix Judy Garland's looks with Elizabeth Taylor's looks you would get Natalie Wood, because Natalie Wood with her big doe eyes reminds me of Judy and her daughter Liza Minnelli, she reminds me of her when she was young in her Mickey Rooney days and also Natalie has more sex appeal then Judy did and I don't mean that in a bad way but her face kinda reminds me also of Liz Taylor for some reason.

  • I hate it when idiots come on here and argue. Just enjoy the clip. Jill, Stephanie and Natalie were all beauties. You can't compare apples & oranges.

  • They were such prudes. Natalie, Marilyn, Ava et al were the masterpieces of sexuality and Hollywood did everything to withhold their natural gifts, even though really, they couldn't.

  • Is it wrong to jerk off to a dead woman?

  • Natalie Wood Was Worth a thousand Stephanie Powers and even more Jill St John's! Wagner you are an Idiot! You should have searched immediately for her and even went into the water and done your very best with every fibre and ounce of strength you had, like a Man/husband you were supposed to be! I would have went in for my dog let alone a beautiful, talented, articulate and wonderful wife who would NEVER have left you to drown!! RIP Natalie, you may be gone but you'll never ever be forgotten Xx

  • saddened she is one of the greats who was gone much too soon! I was born after these legends were famous, so wish i was around back in those days, especially the '60's!

  • 1978. The styles are so that year as well.

  • Let's say Wagner's version is true and the original investigation was right. Still, why would you wait over 4 hours to notify anybody, or at least, turn on a search light? Loving husbands don't do that... drunk, abusive, jealous ones do... Accident or not, this guy is an asshole

  • @1982Lennon Um I get your point if his story was true which I doubt, if it was then maybe he was angry at natalie for "flirting with Christopher" but I doubt that balogna story , too many inconsistencies , too many plot holes why would a women so terrified of water all of sudden go outside and tie the dingy too the yacht in the middle of the night its absurd and bullcrap its does not add up she was next to them how could they not hear her cries for help its stupid I hope this jerk is a suspect.

  • @cinderelmo I forgot what I had said, but I completely agree with you here

  • This story is so instresting she was so beautiful and kind of mysterious in a good way I think its just too weird a lot of stoies don' add up thats like saying a person afraid of fire all of a sudden has the need to put on the fire place and dies of burning its absurd stupid and just dumb the key witness marilyn miglin I beleive received a threathining mail after her death she heard natalies cries for help ,the letter said if you value your life shut up or something of that nature.

  • I hop Bob Wagner becomes a suspect in this reopening because West side Story's 50th just came up and its sad to see Natalie the only cast member dead and Rita Moreno still beautiful and Natalie Wood was the real star of that film its a shame a crime , I also hope they reopen Marilyn Monroe's mysterious untimely death I think she was murdered because she was going to press about her affair with bobby kennedy.

  • @cinderelmo * Marilyn,Was a very bright woman,Her,John, and Bobby's sex life is theirs, not mine. The Kennedy;s own the press, well have power in that area,Marilyn knew this, and knew not to play with fire.A jealous X-Hood ? And lets NOT forget the wife too.You really got a hard on for Wagner,so you must really believe him guilty .I do not, answer this, what did he have to gain ?

  • @billy1212ist Huh? what the heck um that is another conspiracy theory that you know Jackie O wanted her dead but like Natalie Wood the timeline of her death does not add up I am not judging their sex life who said I did all said wasthat just because Bobby Kennedy was her lover in the making does not mean shes was a slut ,she was beautiful talented lady who suspiciosly died. How can one actress memorize a script but not perscription bottles huh?

  • what year was this

  • To begin with,"Another OJ" means exactly what ? A husband that killed his wife?Is that it ? You take a black man in America, and in a 'white' world, who through his playing ability and good looks rockets to the top of Fame Mountain. But there is DNA and a BLOODLINE,with centuries of "Yes Masser"hidden in there, things passed to him.THIS Robert Wagner was NOT,in 1952 He made a film, and had women and money ever since,he would gain nothing, dumbo. Not anger,it's "disgust " that I feel toward your words.

  • @billy1212ist So you sincercly beleive that Bob Wagner was a closeted homosexual or had gay tendencies and he and walken were gay lovers okay lets say thats true but if it was then why isn't chris saying anything it was Bob who did all the damage control after her death not chris is plausable but my instincts tell me that the plot holes in his storys that don't add up that he killed her and walken was on another part of the yacht during the murder of Natalie.

  • @cinderelmo * You people talk like these are regular people, they are NOT.NW,a star since Mir.on34 St. Beautiful, rich, smart, gone with Hollywood"s and the worlds TOP MEN. RW since the 50's TOP Male box office, same thing.CW the new comer still TOP MALE,box office. This IS NOT us,believe me.Sex to them is NOT a big thing. Are "Your Instincts" bullet proof? ever wrong? What plot holes? One at a time,I'm a very good chess player.MOTIVE?MOTIVE? Gain What? Chris was in shock,he's gay and scared his career.

  • @billy1212ist Of course I know that these people are rich famous people duh? and I am fan of Natalie's , West side story , Splendor in the grass , Rebel without a cause which she was a part of the curse of three main stars who died tragically young. and I think your comment means that Rw couldve hidden clues and shut the mouth of the captain and marilyn miglin the witness who heard natalie yes I am aware of that I know he was a crazy man okay sooner or later the truth will prevail.

  • @cinderelmo * "miglin" means what? You see in my comments what YOU want to see.I have gone to lengths to show your investigative nature, that RW had nothing to gain, repeatedly, also when asked of MOTIVE you ramble about a slut, memorize lines, but not pills?A total loss to me.WHO is the Crazy Man you speak of?If you do not ANSWER,finally What RW,had to gain, and WHAT was the MOTIVE,and what is the "Timeline"This couldve comes from YOU ,not me.I am done here, bye.

  • Wagner and/or Walken are in trouble.

  • @MusicCityMiracle One of them but I doubt that it was light hear ted Christopher Walken it had to Wagner or maybe it was just an accident who would purposely push her off that yacht ,maybe Wagner was just plain drunk that's what I think happened and my other theory she accidentally fell plain and simple just like that.

  • @MusicCityMiracle You are a JERK.

  • lqvmd is right. I heard this many times at that time.

  • Robert wagner and walken were gay lovers and they both killed her

  • @lgvmd Well many a men back then had gay lovers rumors about you know Gene Kelly and Cary Grant and obviously many of Judy Garland's lovers were closeted bi's or gays but back then it was like a trend nowadays imagine George Clooney or Brad Pitt having gay lovers.

  • @cinderelmo

Never heard rumours about Gene Kelly. I really doubt he was gay.

  • @renee2971 Well I agree with you on that one Gene Kelly seemed very straight to me he didn't come off as gay but not that I am saying there is a way to come off as a gay person there is no way to tell sexuality is something determined by ones self. But one blog was saying that he had secret gay loves with I highly doubt true. But Cary Grant came off to many people as a closeted gay even hollywood legend Debbie Reynolds said that there was something odd about him.

  • @renee2971 Debbie Reynolds said recently in an interview that yes cary was gay but I doubt it , his daughter recently deffended her father on a talk show called the Talk on CBS saying that her father liked to play into the gay whole thing he knew he was handsome and attracted both sexes he was like very playboy like dashing, but on topic I doubt that walken and wagner were gay lovers and that tey both killed natalie Wood., I think that Robert Wagner is guilty he is another OJ simpson in my eyes.

  • @cinderelmo You know little, and so to you ,....you think that you know allot.Another OJ in your eyes proves it.Oh YOU DOUBT they were bisexual too,so THAT can't be can it ?FOOL,All of Hollywood knows,of Bob Wagner's bi-ness since the 40's.Ah,where were you in the 40's ?And Chris too, major bi-ness.Natalie grew up in Hollywood,James Dean, and Elvis were on her list,What YOU know and doubt or think are shallow, just like your thoughts.

  • @billy1212ist WHOA WHOA hold your hot cakes , um to answer your question was I in the 40s no I wasn't no to answer that maybe in a past life who knows but hey look of and you said that James Dean hit on Natalie well that's very funny and ironic because Jimmy Dean was also a bi sexual he had gay lovers too like Bob Wagner okay and yes I think he is guilty and another OJ Simpson but don't take out your anger on me just because I don't think walken and wagner were gay lovers.

  • @cinderelmo Sexuality is NOT a trend, you are or you are not.

  • Natalie the most beautiful women in the world. God have her in his glory. We love you Natalie.

  • Beautiful lady!

  • hmmm, no hideous lip injections, no botox, no hair extensions. Just an absolutely stunning woman.

  • She was the most beautiful actress ever. I'm 28 and I have yet to find a woman more beautiful.

  • @charvelgtrs I agree! And that's from a girl's point of view (btw...I'm not a lesbian)

  • @charvelgtrs I know right Natalie Wood, Audrey Hepburn, Judy Garland , Karen Carpenter although not an actress, they were all the prettiest brunettes of way back all beautiful all were not blonde or blue eyed but had so much beauty. Theres two young stars now that look a bit like Natalie there names are one is Olivia Munn she looks a lot like her and another young teen star named Victoria Justice who sort of resembles Natalie.

  • @cinderelmo

I'm a sucker for big beautiful brown eyes and Natalie Wood had the most amazing eyes I've ever seen.

  • Who is that guy on the end? He jokes about nude pix of himself. Today a lot of actors have done nude scenes. Times have changed!

  • He didn't give her a good introduction. She was just a kid in the fifties and here Douglas is making her sound like a fossil.

  • what kinda wood does not float ?

  • @SuperBnichols

Yours. Have fun fighting your erectile dysfunction, jackass.

  • @SuperBnichols yawn

  • Whoever was unhappy with seeing a glimpse of her really needed to get laid.

  • fine. eeddie cortez o.c. califas

  • an interview with the captain of their boat ...not good for RJ

    blogtalkradio(d*t)com/threewisegirls/2010/03/11/goodbye-natalie-goodbye-splendour

  • men these shows look so corny thats what people will say about the crap on t.v. now

  • Can't believe Lucy is in this! I thought it was just Natalie

  • Oh MY God, how goreous more beautiful than in her youth. I loved this woman. Check out my video Natalie Wood September Song, photos of her before her death at the heighg of her beauty.

  • It's so sad that she died so tragically when everything seemed to have turned around and gotten better for her.Sounds like she had a lot of personal problems, depression, suicide attempts, divorces, and it's so unfair that she didn't get to live long enough to see her daughters grow up,and to further her career. She was so beautiful,as all Slavic women are!

  • Natalie Wood ohh so very yum yum

  • Arguably the most beautiful face ever. When we were young men I knew no one who didn't have a crush on her. Stunning in "Rebel" & DDG (drop dead gorgeous) in "Property condemned" & "Proper Stranger"

  • Natalie Wood sure was beautiful! She had that Catherine Zeta-Jones look! But Much Better!

  • gosh, she's just beautiful

  • Dear Pamelot5,This interview that Mr.Douglas did with Ms.Wood,Ms.Ball and Young Mr.Arnaz..was probably taped and broadcast in 1980? Because..according to IMDB.."The Last Married Couple In America"was released in the spring of 1980 in Austriallia.

  • I didn't even know that Ms.Wood was a guest on Mr.Douglas' tv talk/variety show?

  • im really pissed she's dead -__- she was GORGEOUS beyond belief & i was looking foward 2 meeting her one day.... if she was still alive :( R.I.P. Natalie <3

  • we miss you natalie but i know you are only dimension away you are still with us.

  • @carrielovejoy

    Yes! Very true!!

  • cant help but look at her in that video and wonder what she would be like today....

  • She was the most articulate actress/person I have ever heard in interviews.

When I see Natalie like this, I realize the enormous loss to the human race her death was.

  • Nope, I recorded it myself, and I remember. I also labeled the tape at that time and looked at it numerous times for years and years afterward. Sometimes, when people say "last year," they really mean the last time that event occured. Obviously, that's what she meant. :)

  • @pamelot5 OK :-) I am not american, so i wouldn't know that last year really could mean last time ;-) Frankly, i don't care, all i can say is; she is gorgeous, in any way! Thanks for answering!

  • She says "last year, our 6th year anniversary"...Wouldn't that make it 1979?.. Not out to make waves, but if you listen to it, that's what she says...part 2....And also, couldn't this have been on October 31, 1979? National UNICEF Day is on the same day every year, isn't it? Even if she said she saw An Unmarried Woman recently, it doesn't mean it had to be right after it came out, does it? I just don't think she would "forget" which year her 6th anniversary was, if you know what i mean.

  • What a beautiful woman! So bright, articulate and classy. I miss you Natalie.

  • Who is the young guy in this interview?

  • @akachloescarlett

The young guy is Lucille Ball's son, Desi ARnez, Jr. (what a cutie he was!!!)

  • I LOVE Natalie and Lucy!!! Thanks for posting! <3

  • Oh, the beginnings of Modern Day TV

  • She looked STUNNING.

  • What charisma. Sadly there isn't anyone around today I would walk across the street to see. There are no stars around today that had this kind of charm. Most stars today are just ...well, they are not stars. They are disposable personalities.

  • @pipitail I didn't say she shouldn't post anything I just asked her why she changed her mind because she told some of us she would never post any of her collection. That is all.

  • I'm always looking for new video on Natalie and really appreciate you posting this.

    This is great!!

  • late 1978

  • @pamelot5 later, Natalie mentions that day was National UNICEF Day, which would be October 31, 1978.

  • I'm impressed. I never would have thought of looking that up! But I'm also impressed with my memory :)---that's a long time to remember that it was late 1978! But I remember that I recorded this shortly after I got my first vcr in Feb. 1979. It aired as a repeat and I had first seen it a few months before.

  • @pamelot5 I forgot to say earlier -- thank you SO MUCH for uploading this. It is priceless. I only wish it was 1 hour long. I can never get enough of seeing and listening to Natalie. There are many clues in the interview as to when it was. Natalie mentions her recent sixth wedding anniversary, which was July 16, 1978. She also mentions having recently seen An Unmarried Woman, which was released in March 1978.

  • You're welcome. Glad you enjoyed it.

  • @Vincenzo916

Are you positive? Because she mentions making The Last Married Couple in America which was released in February 1980 so I still doubt this is 1978 unless they filmed it two whole years before it premiered

  • @vanessalove182 Vanessa, listen to it again. Natalie states that she is going to start filming LMCIA in January. That would be January 1979, so yes I am positive that this interview was on October 31, 1978. The film could not start shooting in January and be in theaters in February.

  • @vanessalove182 I'm positive that it was late 1978. I remember recording it as a repeat shortly after I got my VCR in early 1979.

  • @pamelot5 thanks, vincenzo told me i was just surprised LMCIA started filming an entire year before it's release.

  • what year was this? 1979?

  • ok she says she was filming the last married couple in america which was released in 1980 so it filmed in 1979

  • My goodness she certainly was ravishingly gorgeous and so intelligent but Pam, I remember you stating you would NEVER post any of your collection on Youtube!

    What happened?
