  • sounds like music for a tampon add.

  • Well Only one word is the only track on 1234 that I dislike. The rest of the album is far better! Trust me folks! When Claudia returned for another Propaganda album that never got released in 1998, it was a classic good return of Propaganda! Propaganda fans must hear it! send me a mail reply if you want this special unreleased album!

  • Sooo not the Propaganda I feel in love with in the 80's. :-/ Glad I never bought this album. The singer is good, and the instrumentals are good, but the combo is too different from the previous iteration of the band and it's music.

  • Betsi Miller, where are you now, that voice turns my spine to mush,Claudia Brucken had a great voice but not in Betsi's league, the 1234 album is all superb.

  • It's not Propaganda, but it's a beautiful song.

  • well since 1 year i just recover again 80's music...pop and rock and two german groups surprised me again: propaganda and rainbirds:))

  • when i was younger, I thought this album was just so so after listening to A Secret Wish...but now I think it's way better and more mature.

  • Piosenka Małpki i moja... :-(

  • I feel as though it was really ill-conceived to continue making music under the name 'Propaganda', when it became so radically different from the first album - that album was very experimental and is still very fascinating - this song is so awful... (sigh).

  • fuck, i miss the 90's so bad.

  • Interesting song but I want Claudia Brücken. The video for shure was inspired from James Bond movies when begining credits appear.

  • I don't like this song, but I like Propaganda very much. This is weak.

  • OK not crap but it's just boring music.

In the 80's they did something huge, they invented a new sound a new stream and there are not many musicians who have done the same as Propaganda, Bowie, Depeche mode, Pink Floyd, the Stones, madness, the smiths, Bauhaus, joy division etc. they all invented distinct sound combined with genius writing and made rock/pop/punk/ evolve. Propaganda's 2nd album is just ordinary music, nothing to write about.

  • I have not heard this song for 20 years...

  • this song shows just how much Propaganda depends on Claudia Brucken. I love the "James Bond / Albert Broccoli" esque film overlay... just underscores the schmaltz... compare this to Claudia's "absolut(e)" - which is dreamy and beautiful... also check out her cover of "because the night" which lurks here on youtube - it's delicious!!!

  • I purchased this when it came out, but was very unhappy with it. Not what I expected. I was able to find a few 12" singles that Claudia Brückenj did on her own. Much more like the original bad before the split.

  • Crap. This in not Propaganda

  • @jungovila: No Sir, this is not crap. Your comment is crap! This is Propaganda!

I love this album of 1990 as well as the one of 1985 one. They are different, but they are both great. Both together are Propaganda. Both album are worth listing to.

  • @jungovila

It is Propaganda and is brilliant. A different strain of the same virus.

  • beautiful nd timeless, its what makes great music.propoganda in thier day were out there, think they still r!!! M

  • Dave Gilmore doing the guitar solo I believe.

  • I'm a HUGE Brucken fan but I have to say I love Betsi Miller's voice and wish she'd recorded something additional after this album.

  • Kocham ta piosenke

  • "1234" is still one of the best pop albums ever made, despite the fact that group itself changed. The singles were awesome, I still don't understand that it wasn't a success at all.

  • Me encanta el tema y Betsi Miller para mi gusto es mejor que claudia brucken

  • Si totalmente coinsido! es la voz mas dulce que escuche! aparte buen tema!.

    @patojaime7337

  • It's like the band turned a completely gendre. They were a German alternative music band then it turned into this pop music crap. Yes it is like James Bond tribute video.

  • The video reminds me of a James Bond intro!!!

  • No matter what You say, for me its powerful pop song and I really enjoy listening to it.

  • Simply the best

  • Бетси Мюллер очень нежна. Клавка была поистеричней и алкоголичней.

  • At this point of propaganda most of the germans had left the band. Only Michael Mertens was a german.

All the others were from the UK.

  • @SilverSurferXY

    Betsi Miller is actually american.

  • ahh... my point exactly....

  • have you any idea were? or wath news of her? thanks

    @arvidasentaja

  • not bad for german c..ts

  • this version of propaganda totally misses the point... if you heard this on the radio you would just think it was more american dross (sorry americans).... its not the same if they dont sing with a german dwang and sound german...

  • You're totally right. This is not Propaganda, nor has it got the brilliant level of style and quality the original band had.

  • it`s a pleasure to my ears...

  • A nice chill out song x

  • Nice :)))

  • still good - but not the same as '85

  • Totally different - Equally excellent!

Betsi Miller - the sweetest voice of the 80's!

  • Gilmour alla chitarra?

  • It just shows you that Claudia Brucken was the REAL heart of Propaganda. Everything Claudia did and is doing is on the progressive, fresh edge....

  • I know, but Brücken is still alive and recording.

  • ...It's a decent track in its own right, but when folk think 'Propaganda',they don't imagine smooth,power-ballad.Like 'Heaven Give Me Words',this reminds me of some track you'd find lost in an American 'feel-good movie'....see the credits rolling as you leave the cinema!

  • Spot-on 'whereitsat309'...Propaganda went from distinctive sound and an identity to this schmaltsy fodder. Distinctive? Never in a million years. Sorry folks, but this is instantly forgettable.

  • How this never reached the UK top 10 is one of the biggest mysteries in chart history. A profoundly honest and provocative track that oozes class and integrity. Still hits the spot almost 20 years later - amazing!

  • i agree i think it was september 1990 i bought this on 7" and the album 1234 ,i think this was the second single the first being heaven give me words which only just broke into the top 40 has to be a lack of airplay on radio 1

  • yeah i mean lets face it radio 1 doesnt play tunes that have intelligence and class....lol.....not to mention melody and depth

  • I agree. Their best tune ever..can anybody tell me in which album was that song?

  • it was in 1234

  • Madziu, czy to też nie Twój "klimat"? ;)

  • This record was magnifico, they did the right thing moving away from germanic sound, don't get me wrong it was great but things had changed, everyone had moved on.

  • The problem was that the whole of popular music had moved away from "polished pop" by 1990. It's true that another Germanic chest beater wouldn't have got anywhere, but 1234 was off by about 6 years. The 80s were over, & everything had changed. Don't get me wrong I love this and "Heaven give me words" but people were very much "is it in?" - "is it out?" in 1990 especially after 1988 & 1989's explosion of dance and house music. 1234 was just never going to get anywhere. A shame, but there it is.

  • Completely underrated tune.

  • Anybody here please upload Propaganda's song "Wound In My Heart". I think its one of their best piece ever. Thanks.

  • 3 videos to Wound In My Heart on my page. Unfortunately they never made an official video of the track.

  • Claudia Bruken's death? I haven't read or heard anything suggesting that. You sure this isn't a Mark Twain moment?

  • just too cheesy for being propaganda. the only good thing about this track is betsi miller's smooth voice. the video itself has some interesting parts, though.

  • Like propaganda. Like this song too.

  • what the hell happened to them? it's like being a fan of Pink Floyd and suddenly realising they'd turned in Stepps. Smaltz. Even the voice has metamorphised into Americana Pop idol pap.

  • You talk about Pink Floyd and it's funny because David Gilmour exactly plays guitar on that song... Personally, being a fan of Claudia Brücken doesn't prevent me from thinking that this song is very interesting.

  • @michthoo ,my mom is singing this. haha

  • Claudia Brücken's death, I believe is the answer to your question.

  • Claudia's alive and well.

  • God this is so tacky ... All the coolness + clever melodies are gone.

This is fast-food music for the masses!!!

  • This is awefull... nothing like the original propaganda anymore!!!

  • I bought this record when it came out. I thought it was a gem. Never saw any of the videos. Betsi is beautiful. It was very different to the previous groups sound, but just as good. Thanks.

  • This may be fine pop music, but it NO WAY resembles or measures up to the sound/songs of the original Propaganda line up. Claudia Brücken is definitely missed!!!

  • REWELACJA!!!

  • David Gilmour is on guitars here...

  • This is a song of the no.1 avantgarde-Pop-Band "Propaganda"?

Unbelievably! This is only a simple piece of music like hundreds others! Booooh!

  • I think that this song + Heaven Give Me Words and Wound In My Heart, were three slices of perfect pop music, and that's coming from someone who absolutely adores the original line-up.

  • Thanks for posting. After all this time that is still a fantastic album.

  • Great Song, Delicate Video and a beautiful singer. A pleasure to watsch and hear...

  • omg I almost forgot this song! thnx!

  • Im fall in love with Claudia Brucken...

she is gorgeus! I adore her...

and the band was very cool...

    thansk for upload this song

  • only one problem...this isn't Claudia Brucken - She had left by the time this song was released!

  • really?...wow

who is the girl in that video...do you know?

  • I believe that's Betsi Miller.

  • i think this is a good song, but that makes it wonderful is the guitar solo, by david gilmour..propaganda are a great group, but they had their best only in the 80..

  • yeahhh the guitar solo es awesome... very cool and delicate...

  • Without Brucken they had no voice, no charisma and no taste. The guitar solo is unforgiveable but the production and every single instrumental part played is 80's hell itself. The song is the most despicable slice of corporate emptiness I've ever heard.

  • You're spot-on with your comments. Shockingly bland - there's an interview on here somewhere from 1984 where they're talking about their determination to make high-quality original pop. They completely blew it, which suggests that they owed everything to Claudia, Trever Horn and Paul Morley for the brilliance of their debut album.

  • Absolutely. It's still shocking that this and "A Secret Wish" are by the 'same' artist.

  • Gorgeous and criminally overlooked quality.

  • Absolutly the best Propaganda song, what a beutiful voice

a classic that endures the test of time.

  • Any way I could get an mp3 of this song from anyone? This song is so beautiful! Nikki

  • Try vixy the online converter, just choose the mp3 option if you only want the audio. Hope this helps! Just google "vixy" as I am not allowed to enter the web address :(

  • THANK YOU!!! That was wonderful and it worked too!

  • Love this song. So good to finally see it for the first time in 17 years. Thanks.

  • Yes this is one of the best albums ever made

  • I died with this song...! David Gilmour is on guitars....oh jesus!!!

  • Oh man, what a perfect voice!

  • Genius. The all-time perfect pop song. Thanks for posting

  • oh no. i thought i had wiped my memory of this song.
