I find it interesting how Mr. Cain was marginalized by MSNBC so as to have the least microphone time of all the candidates. Show's the absolute disrespect the liberals have for black folks who are not "down trodden liberals."
@ChizzaBallentine John Huntsman, Rick Santorum and Newt Gingrich barely had any microphone time either. You don't get it, no one takes any other candidate except Mitt Romney and Rick Perry Seriously. Also, Herman Cain is stupid and no one likes him (including the majority of black voters--he hasn't been funded by even one black organization). That's why no one is taking him or any of the other gop candidates seriously. That's why Mitt Romney and Rick Perry get the most questions.
Also why don't they talk about one of the reasons illegal immigration is so high is due to Government subsides to food which makes it cheaper to get it from american then to grow it.
We need more government control if we're going to fix our infrastructure. Ron Paul and Michelle Bachman will lead us in the wrong direction if they are elected... Honestly, the majority of Americans are not "smart enough" to make their own judgements about car purchases and we absolutely cannot trust pharmaceutical companies to produce "safe" medications and regulate themselves if all they want is to increase revenue.
I watched this from start to finish and all I can say is that I am thankful I am not American. Can't believe these people are actually taken seriously as candidates for President. Such a backward nation...
You know what I enjoy most about not being American? Having decent free healthcare and knowing I don't live in a country cold enough to leave the most disadvantaged to suffer untreated health conditions.
They're trying to make all the Republican candidates look bad, it's MSNBC afterall. Fortunately for them most of the candidates make themselves look bad (i.e. Rick Perry at first saying we should ignore human influence on climate change because it hurts the economy then immediately saying that what counts is how Texas reduced its N2O and O3 output - both greenhouse gases).
Your values (including gay marriage and marijuana being terrible) are based on your own biased opinion. a huge point of reducing the power of federal government is to limit the control of opinion on a large scale and delegate it to a smaller scale where many personal beliefs can be tested and given a chance. You appear to be in favor of limiting government only as long as it fits your own morals. And sorry, but morals illusory constructions of our flawed human mind. Thank evolution
While I think Ron Paul is the most respectable of the GOP candidates people really overreact to him 'being treated unfairly". Sure the moderators give him questions that doubt his beliefs, but if they didn't then what does his answer really mean? Giving a question from the perspective of someone who disagrees with you allows you to reply in a way to responds to disagreers so that they may come to understand your perspective.
Alright, here's something I'd like to see happen with these debates. Turn them into a drinking contest, every question, they drink, see how consistent these people stay. Secondly, I'd like to find out who would release the withheld technologies.
Ironic how msnbc doesn't have any of the candidates Names up on the screen. We all know who they'd like back in the White House. Common sense says show their names for those new in the game. Just sayin.
@klassylady25 we do disagree. I think if so-called conservatives wanted a candidate that could bring America back to exceptionalism, then why are Perry and Romney the front runners? Can you find any other republican candidates less exceptional than Perry and Romney? Ok, maybe Bachmann.
Next debate, I am going to count the opportunities to speak for Rick Perry and Mitt Romney, and tally them up vs everyone else (could do it now, but I'm over an hour into it...). Combined, I have a suspicion it makes up 70%. This should be called the Mitt and Rick debate, not the republican debate.
If Ron Paul suddenly said "I love war, I want to make war on every country in the world" he'd be elected in a heartbeat. Its all about the military industrial complex for these neo-cons.
Today Ronald Reagan would be very Democrat and not a Republican. He granted amnesty to illegal immigrants, he negotiated with terrorists, and he raised taxes eight times, which are all big No No to Republicans today.
Ron Paul needs to get away from the Republican party its really bringing him down. Did anyone else see that stone faced expression Rick "forced inoculation" Perry was making when Paul brought up the HPV and 12 year old girls. That man doesn't deserve a do over he deserves a trial by jury.
Remember when Ron Paul kicked ass and corporate media talked about everybody else? heh heh heh. Didn't fool the Americans, though. We know Paul is the only guy who doesn't work for you pricks.
Ron Paul's biggest handicap is that he keeps running as a republican. So called "conservatives" want gimmicks and slogans, not conservative candidates.
@copecountryboy21 "Libertarism is the heart of conservatism"- Ronald Reagan
Ron paul is a republican. There are neoconservatives in the party like Bush and Romney and then there are paleo conservatives like PAUL. He isnt a liberal because his social beliefs and beliefs of limited government and foreign policy are what traditional conservatives believe.
@MJlove89 To be honest, I dont care what ronald reagan said. He's been built up incredibly since his death. Ron Paul is takin his libertarian crap too far. Yes, gov't should get the hell out of a lot of things. But the fact that ron paul is okay if states want to legalize marijuana, or gay marriage or anything else is not okay. Those are not traditional values, and obviously people today need to learn some values. But i think we have different idea of what conservative means, so its okay.
@copecountryboy21 Allowing states to legalizing pot is absolutely a conservative ideal. First off, it shrinks the federal goverment - the DEA specifically. It can turn a black market into a free market. Lastly, it give the states and the people, respectively, the right to make the decision. You seem to be confusing conservationism with religious convictions.
That is not true. I know you're not going to agree, but it simply is not so. We don't want gimmicks and slogans, we want a man/woman to lead and one that can return this country to the exceptionalism that is America.
They've all swallowed the 'free' market kool aid. Free markets don't care about massive unemployment or suffering. Free Markets generally only benefits the rich. Ron Paul is definitely the lesser of evils here. Kudos to Huntsman sticking up for science.
Even this debate is bias for the only Black Repub, he has to interupt to get his point across. But if he should become Pres his agenda would be blocked also even though he is making the most candid and direct answers there would still be "White is Right" to bring him down. Obama will certainly not be replaced by another Black person. Repub canidates have no fear of his views they believe that " White is Right".
@troubleman87 are you kidding me? are we really still stuck on this 'white people are holdin black people back' shit? they didnt give gingrich, bachmann, santourum, or huntsman the time of day either. It has nothing to do with race, so get over yourself. they directed the questions to the people that are highest in the polls.
Here's the reason that seemingly nothing Obama does is right. There is a united political to remove him from office by pushing the national unemployment rate above 10%. So what is being done by republicans and tea partiers is block his agenda & make this country what it was -controlled by the white rich in sheeps clothing. They will run this country into the ground to make "White is Right" again. Having "White is Right" back in office would prompt the "White is Right" coperate america to hire.
