  • 1:00 brilliant comment :)

  • Oh my god just remembered it..BEZERK, had some mad crazy ball thing that couldnt be killed and got faster the more points you got...ah memories!

  • can i ask do you remember any names of the games for the Dragon 32 that were cartridges? used to have one and cant for the life of me think of one ireally liked as a kid!!

  • Radio Shack did make spring-centering "Deluxe" joysticks for the CoCo series, but I don't know if these would be compatible with the Dragon.

Without a self-centering joystick, you'd probably be better off using the keyboard instead, if possible.

  • Thank's for posting, Frogger was one of the best games for the Dragon and i played it to death on my Dragon 64 in the early eighties when it came out. You have to play it via the keyboard as most of the joysticks for the Dragon were "floppy", although you could get self centering sticks. I still have my Dragon 64 set up and still use it on a regular basis. The PC i am using to write this will be lucky to be around in 6 years let alone over 26!

  • You know what that looks not half bad on the Dragon32... Did I say that out loud? oops

  • lol... yes you did :P

  • This port looks kinda like the 5200 version. How rare is the Dragon 32 Steve?

  • It's not all that rare in the UK. It didn't dominate like the C64 or Spectrum, and was only on sale for probably less than 2 years, but it built up a dedicated user base, so that even after they stopped selling the thing, publishers kept producing software for it, coz there were plenty of people to buy games.

I read somewhere that there's an online store in the USA that still has a supply of brand new NTSC Dragon 64s. Might be worth looking into.

  • I now want a Dragon 32. Looks like a PAL system though.

  • An NTSC version of the Dragon 64 was released in the USA as the Tano Dragon

  • So Steve am I to assume that you aren't a fan of the Dragon joysticks? :D

Great review and don't take it the wrong way but your frustration is kind of funny :)

  • What is it with this game and bad ports?

I'm starting to wonder if there's one that's actually functional, never mind fun.

Once again, good job perservering with the shoddy control interface. :)

  • Completely unrelated to the video but I couldn't resist pointing this out (noticed it as I clicked to change windows): in the description, you can press "more info" to view the whole thing, however, in the small extract that shows, it says: "This is not a review, walkthrough, playthrough, or demons..."

    That made me lol. :P

  • There are absolutely no demons in this video :P

  • I've played this game for years on the CoCo and it is a great deal of fun and very functional if you have a quality self centering joystick.

  • wth?! whats up with floating pieces of shit with sprinkles up top? lol

  • I think you're referring to the fly thats supposed to appear occasionally in the spots at the top where frogger lands

  • arggh! if it wasn't for those awful controls this would be a good game

  • The music is there, the graphics too...

Are there better sticks on the dragon32? No digital sticks whatsoever?

    5/5

  • I'm not aware of any digital sticks for it. These are the official Dragon sticks, and probably the best available for it... which isn't saying much.

  • Good old frogger. Looks like the first level of that recent horace goes skiing vid.

  • LOL that game seems to be quite a bastard on the dragon 32

  • Yeah, it's such a shame.

The game itself is fine, but this stick is just demented.

I didn't think to check and see if there were keyboard controls.

    Doh!

  • Yeah, you can use the keyboard. During the intro when you see "Joystick" printed on the screen, press the K key and you'll have keyboard controls.
