  • 0:08 oh crap, HEADACHE!!

  • Duluth sucks. Superior rules.

  • Whelen vortex

  • hahaha i couldnt hear u say a badword

  • love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

in belle missori we have the same one.

  • This one had a wind-up. Most electronic sirens have a brief wind-up to grab the attention of others nearby-- and it certainly got your attention ;)

But I do agree-- I wouldn't want to be near that thing when it goes off lol

  • LOL! Starts up a little funny!!

    *EXITS FULLSCREEN MODE*

    *LOOKS AT RATINGS*

Oh great, some ATI fan(s), wooh (Sarcastic)...

  • It was super scary! There is no missin' that loud, loud siren!!! I could here it from every window loud!

  • I am working on a homemade siren called Warren 2010 b1 or u could call it a Warren b1 i'll have the audio on in a few days it has two different wail tones a voice and a whoop tone

  • I like how it changes direction when it rotates!

  • Hey, yeah, I was in Duluth that day. Came down from Rice Lake Twp, up on the hill to visit a friend, and 1PM rolled around, I heard that, and I was like WTF? Then I realized Duluth had their new system up and running! They used to only have a couple of model 2's if I remember right.

  • Awesome video of that whelen. This is the first time you've taped one. I can see how that would have startled you.

  • Awesome sounding Whelen 4004! :)

  • @CoolBalla15 No it's a VORTEXR4 You can tell by the Rotor

  • Wow! When it came on, the snow fell off. Nice recording!!

  • @kdksiren i acutually made snow fall lol

  • Never knew Duluth MN had istalled a system of Whelen Sirens

i heard these sirens replaced the older Federal Signal Sirens did Duluth MN had a mix of Thunderbolts 2T22s and model 5s

    before they overhualed the system

  • @garyhstorms09 No, they only had a crapload of Model 2s and Thunderbeams.

  • Great job filming! Is this a Vortex R or a 4000?

  • This would be a Vortex. The rotator gives it away.

  • its hard to see that thing sticking out from the rotator at this angle

  • Another good way to tell is by where the conduit runs into the rotator. If it runs in a rounded notch in the middle of the narrower side of the rotator housing, it's a Vortex. If it runs in a more square notch on the wider side of the rotator housing, it's a 4000 series. That's the other way I use to identify it by looking at the siren head.

  • XD @ beginning.

  • They sound like thunderbolt 1000's

  • Great sounding Whelen 4004!
