Your first mistake was purchasing equiptment with too many bells and whistles. You obviously are more concentrated on those bells and whistles than the actual music aspect. And when you bring the new track in to be mixed and you start to trainwreck, get out as fast as you can! Do not ride it out, because even if you are practicing by yourself you wont be any less of a beginner that you already are. The music is the main component the bells and whistles are just bonuses.
