The only truly bad part about Legacy is that it makes the first film so very hard to re-watch. You know that beautiful friendship will turn to dust, you know that the first movie's cheerful and brash protagonist will end up ruined by his own creation. You know the titular hero will suffer fates worse than de-rez. You know that Alan will become close to Flynn, but the fight for his friend will be in vain. (Life sucks for him no matter which sequel you use! )

@jarvy251 and that's why it's a great scene. Flynn's 2 sons, one wayward and one lost both coming together and fighting over what the other has. CLU wanted to be in the real world and Sam wanted to stay with his Dad in the virtual world. Epic.

Clu gets hella frustrated and right when Clu raised his disc to kill Flynn, he starts hesitating and you can see the look on Clu's face "And I'm not?!" And throws the disc into the ground, letting his creator/father live.

That is a great scene. It really recalls the story of the Prodigal Son actually. The jealous older child who feels neglected despite feeling like he did all the work, but his father's love an attention being more focused upon his younger son who he hadn't seen in years. It goes along with the other great pieces of religious symbolism placed throughout this film. A great and vastly underrated movie.

Yeah there's a lot of subtle symbolism and minor themes that are easily missed, but add a ton of depth to the story. I thought the film was fantastic, and this scene made it brilliant.

This is one of my all time favorite movies, but the end is a little un-satisfying for me.

If I had been the director, I would have had it so - at the very end- He drives his Bugatti into the tunnel, with the track "Son of Flynn" playing, and the cop flips his siren on, and the screen goes black. Just my opinion.

it always seemed like the ending was a scene where you had a battleship being destroyed by hostile forces, then friendly forces come out of warp and open fire unleashing all hell on the enemy. The epic battle would go on to see the damaged ship turn and crawl back to safety while the ships dueled it out... thats just me
