I not a big fan of the 3rd Generation Garmin units (the Colorado and the Oregon), mainly because the interface is just too modern. Sort of like Windows Vista. And they are expensive!!
For now, i'm sticking with the 2nd Generation Garmins. (The etrex series, 60 series and 76 series.)

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!!! This thing drains batteries faster than if you were to short circuit them. I bought mine from REI a few days back and I had it for about 22 hrs before A. it broke B.drained 3 sets of batteries. Not only was it incredibly inaccurate it broke after it fell out of my pocket once! Perhapse I got a lemon but it left me wishing it was better. I returned it after less than 24hrs.
I can't wait to use this thing! Geocaching makes hiking even more fun, and now we won't have to carry around any paper. No paper cuts, a cool new thing from Garmin: This is the best gift ever.
If one had asked me, I had suggested to place a button on the top left side of the case, just where the forefinger lies (as seen in the video): Dial with thumb and click with finger without lifting off any finger from the device.
Anyway, cool stuff. Is it planned to sell this in Europe (Germany) with up to date topographic maps, too? The market here simply cries for this in my opinion...

Your idea for a button placement would interfere with left handed use.

Just place one on the other side, too, and you're done. :-)
