nice mechanics, their are are a few things to work on, but you have the essentials right: good stride, not coming to a balance point, good release... Just work on being a little bit more explosive and I'm sure coaches will help you with the rest.
i don't know if its just my style, i don't like to take so much stride sidepitching because at the hour of doing a pickoff, you will be in a potential high risk of messing up the pickoff.. i'll try to keep the legs a little bit closer. also i don't like your delivery, i don't know... you are feeling uncomfortable with it, yet if you don't want to admit it, it is just my viewing tho... but keep training it :) it is an average velocity, 3/5 for ya :)
indiana mustangs select, formerly the indiana select.we brought just about all of the best indy kids together and we blew out the top teams in the state at a fall tourney
you short arm, take the ball back behind your back instead of towards 2nd base, you twist instead towards 1st base instead of coming straight down. (this is why you have now follow through) Next, you keep your weight back, because you cannot balance yourself while drifting foward. Basically your mechanics are choppy and not smooth like they should be. Finally, you need to focus on accuracy. (only one pitch was a strike when you pitched from the cather's view)
everything you said about my mechanics are true except the choppy part. all the things you point out are by design. if you look at pedro martinez, sandy koufax, and nolan ryan, they all do what i am doing (except the finish, my follow through is like perdo).
last outing i went 6 innings, 10ks, 1 walk, 1 hit, shutout.
hit 86 mph 3 times and pitched all day between 82-84. had a 1-1 count 13 times and threw a strike 12 times (this is the most important pitch in an at-bat to greg maddux).
in that case, show me a clip of you throwing 86mph. Post it on here. If you're supposedly throwing only 70% on here, there better be a big difference.
to "idiotmanhead": you have no idea what you're talking about. First of all he's not throwing 100% here, and that should be obvious. Secondly, I see no major issues with his mechanics...how many 15 year olds throw 85 mph? He must be doing something right. Why not give him props for his hard work?

i'll leave it to your expertise. my dad is a scout and has a radar gun. this workout was not 85 but that's what i threw at the world woodbat championships in florida in oct. hit 83 yesterday in 40' weather. believe what you want.
srry dude, but that's not near 85. You're topping out at 70 maybe if even that. Don't question me about it either. I threw 84 two weeks ago. Also, I caught for my highschool who's varsity pitcher threw 85 and it was a lot faster than that.
i pitch same way pretty much! lol nice

Gilb604 2 years ago
your leaning back at balance point if your not balanced your arm angle will be different on every pitch plus no consistant speed

nice mechanics Dylan. I know your dad from ltp it must be great having such a knowledgeable father to help you through your career.
digitaldude6745 4 years ago
i don't care if your dad is a scout. you may think that you're throwing in the 80s but you're not, especially with those mechanics.
