  • Why did this movie get such low reviews? It's an awesome film, perfect score, perfect story and perfect actors, fun to watch, loved it.

  • @GuitarxWolf Because it was not an awesome film with a perfect story having perfect actors. The only good thing about it was the perfect score.

  • Omg, i love those very rapid ascending string patterns in the background at 2:40 - 3:00.

  • Try taking a movie soundtrack and visual TIME MACHINE to the depression era Busby Berkeley movies Goldiggers of 1933, Footlight Parade..etc

  • The beauty of this movie was that it set my soul alight when I saw how the world changed during this music. The voyage of time itself. Feeling above the Earth, in the stars. We're all shooting to the pinnacle of our humanity as we listen to this, as we search to the great beyond. =)

  • this is a good case of the music makes the movie. so fantastic! i'm being bombarded by goosebumps right now.

  • 1:46; 2:20; 3:02.......NICE!

  • Flawless, the best of the best of movie soundtracks! This one takes the cake of all time being up there with Star Wars, Superman, Indiana Jones, Lord of The Rings etc., perhaps being even better than these in my honest opinion!!! Pure eargasm of delightful enjoyment with all the unique and different instrumental pieces perfectly arranged and timed at the right moment to give a sense of time travel and being in another dimension

  • The end gives me chills. I feel like him, I don't feel like I belong here in this time period, Perhaps a 100 years ago or 50

  • Beautiful.

  • This song really makes it seem like i'm time travelling when i'm just listening to it, nicely made, indeed.

  • superschöne musik,...........

    mfg c.s.a.-kavallerie des südens

  • beautifull song !

  • Wonderful piece of music! It has that little bit of progression at 1:46 where it fills the listener with a sense of wonder!

That's how i see it anyway! This would go great with the video game Chrono Trigger!

  • Fantastic in every way!

  • NOT the one i was looking for!

  • @Niekitty Damn, you got me. 8)

  • Someone should use this song to show the timeline of space travel. From wright brothers to moon colonization or the phoenix.

  • @mabiniss2

so... essentially... the title sequence to enterprise? XD

  • 0:00 Panning across various pretty space features...

    0:33 Starship appears...

0:55 Starship goes into warp, title appears.

  • @3:02 Bombastically epic! Grabs you and doesn't let go.

  • I could listen to this over and over and over again

  • I'll never get enough of this! Love it!

  • Great Track too such an underated score. Thanks 5 stars.

  • So sad that the movie couldn't do justice to this magnificent music. The sequence where this plays in the movie was about the only interesting one in the film.

  • GrEaT sOnG

  • yes muddragon i agree its a great song

  • Goldsmiths "The Edge" must have been on the temp track, the chord progressions are almost identical nice piece non the less !!

  • this is equal to anything Williams, Goldsmith or Horner have ever done, simply magical!

  • well this is about the thousandth time ive listened to this song and it still sends shivers down my spine, simply amazing!! also after listening to this i leave my computer feeling very motivated, Thank you:)

  • OMG! This is amazing! It sounds a lot like Jerry Goldsmith's Lost in the wild from The Edge. 5 stars my friend.

  • nostalgia from 19th century ;-)

  • This clip really illustrates the POWER of a modern orchestra. Starting with the very first StarWars back in 1977, great orchestra music has become essential for modern films.

  • Goosebumps from a music made of pure, SHEAR AWESOMENESS AND EPICNESS!

  • @TheMudDragon epicness and awesomeness dont even begin to describe this

  • still mazing though. But Jerry got the better tune, god rest him.

  • wow, I just heard Jerry Goldsmith's The Edge, it sounds so much like this.

I still like it, but Jerry Goldsmith is a legend. I have a bunch of star trek music and air force one, he rocks.

  • Also, keep in mind that the director may have shown Badelt the score to 'The Edge' and told him to emulate it. So it may have been intentionally similar.

  • i can hear the similarities but i think this song as more of that.... i guess you can say epic sound to it. that is just me so

  • There are slight similarities, but this has a much more far-reaching and grander sound than Goldsmith's The Edge. What a worthless comment you made there.

  • well then thank you for dignifying my worthless comment with your mind-blowingly insightful answer...

  • I wasn't dignifying it with my comment, but rather signifying its lack of insight.

You seem to have some unwarranted hostility there. Both Badelt and Goldsmith have made great music, with Goldsmith being the better, at least more proven, composer. Both The Edge and The Time Machine were beautiful musical works. No need for the negativity.

  • I'll tell you where the negativity is: plagiarism is a negative way of creating. Now sorry if you felt I was hostile to you, I was being hostile to Badelt.

  • I know you weren't being hostile to me, I was simply stating (as I did in my first post) that "There are slight similarities, but this has a much more far-reaching and grander sound than Goldsmith's."

If you have the the inclination, I suggest listening to "Bourne on Land" from the Bourne Idenity score, and "One Year Later" on the Battlestar Galactica: Season 2 score (can find both here on youtube). They seem way too similar for it to be a coincidence.

  • Epic is all i could say.

  • 0:55

  • Klaus Badelt is a genius!!!!!!

  • no doubt, its great, by the way, is the same composer qho create the pirates of the caribbean: the black pearl soundtrack

  • @radk88 yes I know :-) and al lot of more ^_^

  • bellisimo!emociona el alma!

  • i can actually picture that speeding through time scene when i hear this.

  • is this mozart? i love mozart!

  • Nope. Klaus Badelt. :)

  • yes, it is.

  • This is great>> try listening to Ferranti and Teicher do EXODUS or MIDNIGHT COWBOY

  • Wasn't a big fan of the film (although I thought Pearce was good) but the soundtrack is just fantastic.

  • well good music good film :P that what i thinks:P

  • I've never heard something like that. Thats not music that ere speaking feelings :)

  • i cant stop listening to this majestic music!

  • Is this the song thats runs on the End title (Credits) Of the film The Time Machine?

  • @CharlieSqd

i think it sounds like the music that is played during the trip into the future

  • Awesome, thanks for uploading it! 5 stars!

  • Wow, I already commented on this, but I have too again it is so great!

  • Won the World Soundtrack Award "Discovery of the Year" 2002.

  • This is a Amazing song. I love it as much as I love the movie...maybe more!

  • can someone please send me an mp3 of this song!

  • Buy it like the rest of us.

  • i dont think a lot of people do

  • i sure did!!

  • The new movie is fantastic! Though I could be biased as I love Guy Pearce =).

  • the new old movie, right? :P

  • The gospel is the good news of God's grace, or favour, by which man may be released from the condemnation of sin (guilt), and enabled to render acceptable obedience to the moral law

  • ...Truly Epic.

  • 666j1 :D inspired :D

  • Although I wasn't too fond of the acting, I truly loved the movie itself. Try listening to the music, while reading the book. It's a really neat experience.

  • Great... I can only say that.

  • WOW!!! You know, I had never seen this film until the other day. When I heard the soundtrack something came over me. Goose bumps! It was a feeling that I hadnt had since I first saw Cutthroat Island and became blown away by Debneys score. This is a very special soundtrack. Its a pity that they havent expanded it, as the running times on the cd seen a little short.

  • don't forget the bolar hat

  • Yeah. Kinda does sound a bit Titanic-ish at 0:55. LOL.

  • I just meant that the melody has a few similarities to the love theme from Titanic. But I love this soundtrack! All you die-hard Badelt fans...I meant no offense. I'm very surprised to see -6 on my comment, to be honest.

  • this man is a genius a good sample of what the term MUSIC means

  • IDK BUT all tiem if i hear this music from the best sad movie ever i need to do it in gmod :o

  • O dear God this brings tears to my eyes...

  • splendida colonna sonora....

  • AWEESOMEEEEEEE!!! Love it love it

  • Hey,

Here I am, listening to this again for the umpteenth time.Think about the part where he tried to go back and save his girlfriend..and expand on what is in our life...the dimension of time space, love, senses, music, complicated human organisms of multifaceted, personalities.....

the GOD of the universe is an AWESOME GOD!!!!

Don't let simple minded atheists rob you of the masterpiece of life...and don't let warped religionists enslave you with abstract symbols and rituals.

  • absolutely

  • absolutely

  • Can i download this?

  • Good one.

    +1

  • I can listen to it all day and still love it!

  • Beautiful!

  • we will, oneday make this mistake in the movie and start over making the same mistakes again, who knows if we did before

  • What mistake exactly is that?

  • one of the best soundtracks, for me

  • WAO I LOVE THIS SONG....

  • I love this song, could you maybe send me the mp3 version pls??

  • Me, too, please!

  • Great!!! :P----

  • Im making an arrangement of this song, to violin, but cannot be compared to this original version for orchestra, amazing, klaus badelt is consagrated.

  • great movie compared with amazing music

  • Read the book! The movies can't feel it!

  • My purple camel has a melting astronaut .

  • Beautiful music and also great film.

Could you send me the music please ?

    Thk

  • I like this songs, they are fantastic and this film, too.

  • Great movie, though I havn't seen the original to compare to. AWSOME soundtrack!!!!

  • Not a great movie, but a great soundtrack.

  • Of course it's a great movie! Hello? Time travel? Just the concept is intriguing. Where' s your sense of creativity. It's a pretty exciting movie to watch BECAUSE you have absolutely NO IDEA where it's going to take you into the future and what the future holds for each scene. Anyone who doesn't think this movie is great is just a very boring person. THIS IS A GREAT MOVIE. Your comment can't be considered seriously by ANYONE!

  • Great music!!!

  • Agreed. The movie, not so much.

  • I love this movie.

The music, the actors and the story.

All together, the movie is great.

  • You are one of the few people in the world who would dare say that.

  • not really. it wasn't perfect, but still good.

  • The 1960 version was far superior. It was a classic. This version is best forgotten except for the score.

  • (shudders) so outdated.

  • The older version was infinitely better than this latest suckfest. You think that new automatically = better? The concept of classic seems to elude you. The old version will be playing long after the new one is forgotten. In fact I think it is forgotten already by the viewing public.

  • Not AUTOMATICALLY better. But old stuff does tend to get outdated. Take star trek, great show for it's time, but today it's unbearable to watch. The old one was cool when I was a kid, and it's not horrible now. I actually never read the book so I only see them as movies, and I'm not biased because of the book. The new movie has better graphics, and honestly better acting(I refer to the laughable morlocks and infantile eloi in the original).Classics can be outdone, and I'm not threatened by that.

  • I'll bet you thought Hulk was a good movie too.

  • Actually I have cybernetic eyes today because I ripped my original eyes out after watching that particular abomination.

  • LOL. I had to resort to massive ammounts of alcohol consumption and concentrating on Jennifer Connely, even though she appeared to be doing her best Vulcan immitation and showed no emotion.

  • So you see, it's not that newer is better, but the 2002 version is closer to a modern sci fi story, so I liked it better. I see few reasons to criticize it aside from it being based on a classic while not adhering strictly to it.

  • I'm not a professional critic, nor do I pay them much attention but this movie was universally held in the lowest regard. Not sure what a "modern" SF story is as a good story has no era, thats the test, that it holds up over time. As I said before I predict this movie will be forgotten while the older version will be remembered. But then again I like Buckeroo Banzai and most people hated that.

  • I do like some classics, Dr. Strangelove was great in my opinion. Perhaps some people are just more fond of classics, but I'm generally not. The new movie won't appeal to most teens today because it lack (really)cheap comedy and a ton of sex/drugs, and most of the fans of the original just won't give it a chance.

You still haven't explained what makes it so bad, only that is is. Not the strongest argument. At least say WHY you don't like it.

  • The old one will only be remembered cuz it was a quest of it's movie time that tried to do what no movie had yet done, travel to the future. Many of today's movies travel to the future, "Back to the Future," so it's not a novel concept like the first Time Machine was. That's the only reason it won't be forgotten. But still, the newer one IS BETTER. Anyone can clearly see that, even you. You're just holding onto something cuz you think it deserves to be remembered, not cuz it really was better.

  • old stuff gets outdated and later viewed as pathetic. Remember Planet of the Apes? Way better is the new one. The old one has HORRIBLE acting and monkeys that look like plastic.

  • I like the new one for the sake of its computer graphics and some of the actors (Jeremy Irons and Guy Peirce). The Older adaptation seemed to stay a tad closer to the book, and with Simon Welles Directing it, you'd think he'd try doing the same. I like the old one because it had that sort of charm to it

  • You kids shouldn't play so rough, someone's going to start crying...

  • You kids shouldn't play so rough, someone's going to crying...

  • Time to call the WAHHHHHHHHbulance.

  • I think everyone on here needs to calm down, so it wasn't that great a film, everyone has opinions, and at least the music is very well done :)

  • I'm quite calm. Bitch slapping the rude dorks on YouTube fills me with contentment.

  • I love this track...it plays as Hartdegen travels forward to 2030...love the visuals that go with this piece...so proud and uplifting...hope for the future!

  • This movie is horrible! It sucks donkeys. But I love the score.

  • You're terrible, and you suck donkeys. The movie was a shit load better than the actual book.

  • LOL...this coming from a dweeb that likes Mike Tyson and 2Pac. You're probably a whigger.

  • How can you call me a dweeb? Do you not see what you have listed as your favorites? I'm far from a wigger too, infact I'm listening to In Falmes - take this life right now. You can't call anyone a dweeb with the shit you have marked as your favorites, I also enjoy boxing, which is more than I can say for you considering all you do is hide behind your computer.

  • Has your subscription to ITG magazine expired?

  • Whatever ITG magazine is? I guess thats a good comeback for someone who sits on his computer all day looking at shit like "advent children." I can see though, by the way you talk and your shitty ass comebacks that you probably have no life whatsoever and have to resort to internet raging because your body isn't big enough to back your shit talking up.

  • Internet Tough Guy magazine. I figure you have a lifetime subscription. Next you'll be telling me what degree in martial arts you hold. You are quite entertaining! Its like you're a dozen cliches rolled into one. :P

  • Damn, having to resort to trying to pull me into a "tough guy" just because I said the same thing you said about the movie just directing it towards you and then your little e-feelings get all hurt. Pretty ironic, you can dish it out but you can't take it then. Have fun nerd, try not to get to bad of a monitor tan.

  • You started with the ad hominems, Skippy. And I haven't even mentioned how incoherrent your retorts are. English a second language or just didn't make it through high school? From you're last line I think you are trying to leave our happy little conversation! Don't go! I'm having so much fun with you!

  • Sterotyping people just because they listen to music, which just happens to be produced by a black person doesn't make them a "wigger." It's funny though, you having to resort to correcting my English grammar considering I very rarely screwed up. It's okay though, I didn't know this was an English class, but in that case maybe you should learn how to use proper sentencing when trying to ask questions and also use proper grammar like when you used the incorrect version of "your."

  • That's called irony. Look it up.

  • That made absolutely no sense whatsoever. Theres nothing ironic about you trying to sterotype me by liking Mike Tyson and liking one of Tupacs' song. What's ironic is you trying to call me a "dweeb" when it is you yourself that is the "dweeb." It's been fun destroying you, but I really think this is senseless considering I can make a fairly good judgement that you are either 1)anorexic or 2)obese.

  • What happened? We get banned? Posts are not posting! Is this thing on?

  • INTERNET TOUGH GUY

Someone who constantly talks about how bad and "hardcore" they are over the internet. These people usually frequent chat rooms and online forums for the sole purpose of shit talking and gloating to complete strangers to fill the void in their life. They also like to troll areas in chat and forums that contain such topics as: Martial Arts, Boxing, Fighting, Excercise, Weight Lifting, Wrestling etc. so they can compete with other lifeless internet whores.

  • Yeah, please somewhere in that useless post you posted show where I ever once bragged about anything. I merely said the same shit you said about the movie and you get all pissed off because you can't take any kind of criticism. Have a good day, keep arguing with people on the internet all that proves to me is how you really are considering you can dish it but you can't take it when someone says something negative towards you.

  • Hahah...are you the pot or the kettle? Look back at the posts and see who is upset. I think this is hysterical, you think its serious. And that cause the internet is a serious business to...an INTERNET TOUGH GUY! Muahahahahaha!

  • Yeah, you make no sense yet again. You continue to keep failing at even remotely making a halfass good comeback against anything I say. It's like you just type out shit to say oh atleast I typed something back. Just take your anal raping like a man and smile when it's over faggot. I don't think I've met a bigger douchebag or idiot as I have with you.

  • We are all having a really good laugh at your replies. I posted the ITG description here so that everyone can mark off each time you meet a qualification. You just did the gay thing so I betting next its going to be "I'll come over there and kick your ass". And we have a question : Just how many men HAVE you had anal sex with? Not that there is anything wrong with that...

  • dude u suck donkey's dick !!! this movie is GREAT !!!!!!!!!

  • Oh really? I'm not alone in my opinion: It's rare to see a movie that takes such a speedy swan dive from "promising" to "interesting" to "familiar" before landing squarely on "stupid".

Guess you don't like to be challenged. Thats OK, you can go back to sucking Ep0nz's dick.

  • Please don't nag on people because of their opinions. If he liked this movie and thinks it's great, more power to him. If you don't like it, more power to you.

  • I only "nag" on those who feel compelled to insult me personally. My original comments were only directed at the quality of the movie, not others opinion. They dish it out but can't take it.

  • Maybe to avoid others thinking you are attacking their opinions,u could say"in my opinion"

  • "In my opinion" is implicit in every statement I make unless otherwise noted.Remember, I did not start these personal attacks but it does look like I finished it.

  • Good call. It'd be like walking up to someone on the street and anouncing "I am now talking about things which I wish to talk about...". If you're saying it, it's kinda your opinion.

  • esta es una de mis peliculas favoritas i ademas esta bella cancion es la primera que pude sacar en mi guitarra acoustica solo escuchandola, aprendi el sentido que tienen las notas ya que solo utilizaba tabs 5 stars

  • Wonder music, and movie.

  • I ment wonderfull music, and movie. Not wonder.

  • The movie itself was very good in the first half (especially the time-travel), but turns to mediocre, when the year 802701 is reached.

But the soundtrack is awesome and can par up to Russell Garcias soundtrack of the first "Time Machine"-movie, released in 1960.
