  • For You, Mark (26 April 1973 - 1 July 2003)... May You Rest In Everlasting Peace. "I Loved You Since Day One... I'm Gonna Love You Until I Die..."

  • R.I.P. Lady Tee. Detroit misses you.

  • She touches your SOUL

  • She touches you SOUL

  • EPIC RECORDS SUCKS. WE ALL BOYCOTT EPIC. PERIOD. THAT IS THE SPARK AND SPOKE IN HER WHEEL. SINCE DAY ONE SHE WAS THE BOMB OF THE WORLD. AND I LOVE HER FOREVER.... TOO BAD EPIC,,,,,,,

  • UHHHHM IF IT WASN'T RELEASED - HOW DID I BUY A 12'' OF IT IN HMV AEON'S AGO?

  • @MURPHNSPUD yep i had it too

  • This album (Ivory) in my opinion was truly Lady T's graduate project I find it to be such a transitional piece of work for her; clearly, it demonstrates the classic vocals we are accustomed to hearing from her but there is a maturity that is constant throughout this CD that does not seem to exist from earlier projects. As well, every CD hereafter I hear such a STRONG Smokey Robinson influence in her delivery on a number of melodies. I so love & miss her- Lady T. Forever in my heart...

  • This song was co-produced by Jazzie B from the r & b British group Soul 2 Soul. They had hits back in the late 80s early 90's, notable singles Keep on Moving, and Back to Life. I loved this Teena Marie groove . The intro to this song and that high note she hits after scatting made this song one of my all time favorites. The cassette single was released as an import with two versions of this song--Teena's Version and Jazzie's Version. I was fortunate to buy it before it went out of print.

  • This one is from the heart....I know

  • I read the story on how Epic and Teena parted ways unfortunately Mariah Carey had just started her career at the same time.So everyone was thinking she was the next coming of Lady T LMAO NEVER.Really Lady T had talent in every pore of her body.Shame on Epic Mariah Careys career wont ever come close to this legendary album.

  • This is another one of my favorite Teena's song I love this album ...I'm gonna love you until I die ..It just doesn't get more deeper or realer then that....Real Music!!!

  • DL the audio from this song at thetunify doht cohm.

  • I always loved this song (though Teena's ballads are my favorites of her recordings). She could convincingly sing so many different styles of music, because she sang everything with such conviction: She could rip it up with something funky (like this song); she could scat like a jazz singer ("Tune in Tomorrow"); she could rock out on songs like "You So Heavy," and she could sing tender ballads ("Now That I Have You"). She was the real deal; they don't make them like Teena anymore...

  • Everything about this track cooks. It could've been #1 R&B! Epic actually did finally release it in the summer of '91 as the 4th single, but it didn't chart. I have the 5-remix Cd single :) But when I first heard this song (the local black station played it all the time), this was my introduction to Teena Marie. "Ivorty" was the first T album I ever bought, and it was love ever since. I went back and rediscovered her classic Motown hits.

  • fyi.......Teena Collaborated With Jazzie B Of Soul II Soul Writing This Music, Then Teena Put It To Words, This Came Out A Year After Soul II Soul's Debut "Keep On Movin" CD....My Girl May Be Gone BUT...... She'll NEVER BE FORGOTTEN....//O\\

  • fyi....Peeps....Teena Collaborated With Jazzy B From Soul II Si

  • I used to rock this cut when it came out. I thought it should have been the first single off the single.

  • ....and it is what it is......a true artist is only acknowledged.....when one passes...to the masses......as a true fan, lady t i loved u since day one...sleep wild and peaceful.......my love to u and urs....t.. rose....amen.

  • Loved this track since day one!

  • This is a gigantic... and I mean a humongous loss to the music industry. The ripple effect of her leaving will be felt years to come. A void is is there that cannot be filled. Sitting here in Tokyo I am still in shock & have been holding back writing about her until In am ready. So I am going to say this to all of the so called R& B singers of today..pre-packaged with no true value proposition in your music..go back, listen, watch her videos, take a lesson or get a job at UPS, they are hiring.

  • @kbtokyo Yes people seem to feel that because an artist is before their time they wont get the music. But thats so not true. As for Beyonce and these new artist they just follow the status quo of the record companies. All artist objectives are today is to be popular and be on top and sell records. THE MUSIC IS THE LAST FACTOR really!

  • THERE'S A BIG DIFFERENCE BETWEEN LISTENING TO SOULFUL PASSIONATE MATURE MUSIC AS OPPOSED TO LOLLY POP MUSIC FROM BEYONCE, RIHANNA AND THE REST. SO IN OTHER WORDS BEYONCE WILL BE 30 YEARS OLD STILL MAKING BUBBLE GUM MUSIC. SO SAD.

TEENA MADE SOME OF HER BEST MUSIC WHEN SHE WAS THE SAME AGE AS BEYONCE AND RIHANNA.

IT'S REALLY PATHETIC THAT THEY ARE TODAY'S SO CALLED TOP SINGERS AND NEITHER ONE OF THEM HAVE ANY SOUL. LADY GAGA AND THE REST ARE WORST THAN BEYONCE AND RIHANNA.

  • @MIMI88998899 Yes...and i actually liked beyonce with her first 2 cds but now shes just total POP POP POP!

  • SINCE DAY ONE WHEN I HEARD DEJA VU I FELL IN LOVE WITH TEENA'S MUSIC.

SINCE DAY ONE I HAVE BEEN ROCKING TEENA AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO.

    R.I.P. LADY T

  • OMG she was ahead of her time. Soul female trailblazer. Rhianna, Beyonce and all you wannabees listen and learn. You will never match this, Lady T YOU WERE A LEGEND.

  • @hurdlemaster07

JUST THINK TEENA NEVER HAD TO STRIP NAKED TO SING A SONG. ALL OF THESE SO CALLED SINGERS TODAY HAVE TO TAKE OFF THEIR CLOTHES TO GET PEOPLE TO NOTICE THEM BECAUSE THEIR VOICES ARE CRAP. THEY HAVE NO SOUL, NO PASSION AND NO VOCAL ABILITIES.

    SING IT LADY T.

  • @hurdlemaster07 ARE A LEGEND MY FRIEND

  • @hurdlemaster07 YES INDEED!!!Those women of today couldnt write a song to save their" paper thin" career

  • THANK U LADY T YOU HAVE GIVING ME SO MUCH WITH YOUR MUSIC, FOR EVER,FOR LOVE. RIP

  • The Sistah could really .really sing

  • Lady T. BROUGHT TO THE WORLD HER GIFTS OF LOVE LIFE AND SONG LIKE NO OTHER. PEACE AND BLESSINGS Lady T,Ivory Vanilla Child.

  • Lady T. BROUGHT TO THE WORLD HER GIFTS OF LOVE LIFE AND SONG LIKE NO OTHER. PEACE AND BLESSINGS Lady T,Ivory Vanilla Child.

  • Classic Jam so underrated from such a brilliant album... RIP Lady T.... Wildflower... you will be missed but what a volume of music you have left us!

  • Quality music.. R.I.P Teena Marie

  • why do people buy x factor artists' rubbish when there's c;ass like this around?

  • A song that can be done totay. Sometimes we miss our spot but I just have recently listened to some of her songs that can be hit today, alone and with some that can have Lil Wayne, Mary J Blige, and others. I do miss her poetic music. She was an inspiration to me.

  • why is she underated she deserve better

  • @bigblackdaddy1958 Lady T was underated cuz she stayed true to her art and didnt sell out. Remem when Patti, Pointer Sis , Chaka, Whitney all went pop late 80's. Lady T was one of the few who didnt follow and stayed R&B

  • @lifeisthedash Actually, Tee did go mainstream/pop with her hit "Lovergirl". Her record label at that time wanted her to have more popular appeal with "Starchild". For the most part, she still stuck to her R&B roots even with that album ("Out On A Limb" remains a quiet storm classic).

  • @lifeisthedash Even Teena experimented with the pop sound of that era, too. Most of the tracks on 'Emerald City' were far-more electro-pop/R&B than anything she made beforehand. The track "Love Me Down Easy" (the most intriguing of her songs) has a striking resemblance to Prince's "The Beautiful Ones" and Madonna's "Live To Tell". Apparently her fans and the fat cats at CBS/Sony didn't know what to make of it. Teena went back to doing what she did best, as did Chaka and Patti.

  • i'd like to know who were the

2 ppl that disliked this song ,

    nobody effin` with lady t bby !

    i love this song , she's such a beautiful person ;

they don't make music like this anymoree .

  • A collaboration made in heaven, Jazzie B & Lady T, I have the 12' remix, KILLER! I just wish they had made more music together. thank you!

  • i was sitting with JAZZIE B and was talking about lady T little did i know he had worked on this track until he educated me

so i walked away with a copy and a smile

  • ♥♥♥♥♥♥

  • Lovely lady and song. In the UK, Epic records actually released the track as a single. It never picked up major daytime airplay unfortunately. (The jazzie B mix style I think was on the wane with the mainstream radio stations, which the song would have needed to chart) My copy is well worn out, I played it that often!

  • Teena, I've loved you since day one! Ivory was so good I bought the cassette tape three times, lost in 1997! Found it on CD in 2005! Couldn't believe it had been there the whole time! Lain out on the floor bumping to the bass...!

  • To my husband~ better late than never!!!!!
