  • uh powerpoint 2010?

  • Do you want 1 million examples what Powerpoint can do while Keynote can not ?

  • I agree that in many ways, Keynote is better than PowerPoint. Key note definitely has better, more dramatic animations (especially slide transitions) and, to my knowledge, PowerPoint still can't animate graphs (the user has to literally break them apart and rebuild them).

However, keep in mind that PowerPoint 1.0 (and all of office before 5.0) was made exclusively for the Mac. Yes, you read that right.

I do the picture fade out/fade in within a single slide all the time in PPT.

  • HOW CAN U DO ALL THIS

  • We can now do that with office 2010

  • how do u make it so the graph slides up when the presentation is played?

  • How can I open a keynote presentation with powerpoint on windows?

  • @jessica5666 you can save it in format that powerpoint can open.

  • @jessica5666 u dont.

  • dear derekleeCHN all the things we show are basic and powerpoint dooes it. HAhahahaahaha don't be redicilous.

  • Ooooh! Fancy transition...BIG deal! I've been using PPT for years and in my expert opinion (I am considered an expert since I've been successfully employed as a Presentation Specialist for over 20 years!), it's more important to be able to read the data on the charts than pivot them to some distorted 3D angle! thanks, you can keep Keynote - and I'll keep using PowerPoint on my PC!

  • @morrispatty89 lolol what's your problem man, i mean if you dont think its good, then dont be so sarcastic. After all, you have to admit keynote does have certain qualities to it that makes it special and relevant.

  • @morrispatty89 and you probably own a blackberry the most professional but least innovative phone like you! hint I fell asleep during one of your presentations once:)

  • So it can make boring graphics zoom in cooler than PowerPoint. That is an advantage? I feel a little seasick after a while...

  • So it can make boring graphics zoom in cooler than PowerPoint. That is an advantage?

  • Haha nice joke "mac beats windows when it comes to performace". You can buy an overpriced mac for $1200. For the same money you can buy a windows pc which will have twice as better specs.

  • @DoubleDdutch you may think it's over priced but i think it is more than worth it. I Love My Mac. The specs are perfectly fine for what i use it for. I like the os on the computer it is far better than windows... imo

  • @pandurism

Until OS X incorporates a task manager and toolbar like the one in Windows I won't even consider it.

  • @DoubleDdutch did you forget all the anti-virus programs and time if they are free to clean windows constantly? and besides I run windows 7 on my Imac for compatibility with the backwards world. You are not nearly as fast as I am to do anything on your windows machine even with 8 more cores on your machine your operating system sucks I prove it everyday with people at our office you guys keep doing PowerPoint I will incorporate C4D R13/REALFLOW/BOUJOU/FCX/MAYA2012 for my presentations.

  • @AlienGrade You sound like a huge fanboy to me who desperately screams around on the internet and tries to prove to the whole world how mac is better than pc.

  • @DoubleDdutch Honestly the more windows users their are the better for me, my business, and competition in general. by the way pc can mean MAC'S or Windows users if you do not know the meaning of the name how do you know ANYTHING about the subject? Tell me how Windows is better and you will have my respect

  • @AlienGrade ...Ofcourse i don't know that pc means personal computer. Just people use the word pc for PERSONAL COMPUTERS running on WINDOWS and use the word MAC for PERSONAL COMPUTERS running on MAC OS. You just don't have any good arguments and that's why you start making up bullshit that anyone knows. By the way I NEVER SAID that windows is better than mac, you've made that up fanboy! I don't need to earn anyone's respect. And keep telling yourself that it's better for your busines!

  • @DoubleDdutch DoubleDouchBag Have you seen your channel video's If anybody is screaming for attention here it is YOU!. Keynote is better than Powerpoint Period! go back to your moms basement. OH and that is an Iphone 4 video you got up right??? closet FANBOY.

  • @AlienGrade You seem a little bit frustrated to me, oh oh... someone is running out of arguments and beceause you don't have any good arguments you start making up shit about my username and my video's. Also you don't have any argument why i am screaming for attention, while YOU start fanboy responding on MY comment. Not me on yours. And why are you even screaming that keynote is better than powerpoint? You think anyone is interested in your opinion? I don't think so fanboy.

  • @DoubleDdutch You can import Powerpoint projects into Keynote can your beloved Powerpoint do that?? DoubleDouchbag you keep saying what you already said over and over....c'mon man acknowledge you have been beat! go defragment your pc or something!

  • @AlienGrade The point when you admit that you've been beaten is when you start to make up shit about someones profile, which doesn't add anything to the discussion. And youre talking here about a presentation program.. It's the same as comparing windows movie maker to iMovie, no one really cares. And if that is the only thing keynote can do while powerpoint can't.. you must be a fanboy big time to scream that it is better. You do realise that windows has 85% of the market share while mac has 6%...

  • @DoubleDdutch

Windows's market dominance was possible as Windows was shipped in all IBM computers in 1980s whereas Apple's Mac OS was only shipped in Apple's own computers only due to Steve Jobs' belief in deep integration of hardware and software. Therefore, Windows was the only OS that people could use and afford, so it became the most popular OS not because it was better than Mac OS but because people were used to it. The same goes for Powerpoint and Keynote.

  • @mjh483 You're right. Finally someone who actually knows things instead of starting pointless discussions on youtube about which OS is better.

  • @mjh483 OMG THANK YOU

  • And by the way the iphone 4 is a great device, but i don't comment shit on android device video's beceause i'm a fanboy. I like windows, but i don't say mac is crap, i say it is overpriced for the specs mac's have. And that is a fact. Mac has great design and i can understand that people like mac very much. And there are you: commenting fanboy shit that windows is crap and how keynote is better than powerpoint, telling me that i need to go back to my moms basement. Youre a fanboy and you know it

  • this is boring

  • at the 0:40 sceonds mark where they show like a slideshow type of animation, you are able to do that in powerpoint.

  • 22 people have bought PowerPoint for their Mac then seen this video lol.

  • Make no mistake I'm a Keynote user and a big fan, but no program will stoop you from designing terrible presentations like this one.

Awful 3D charts, appalling layout, dumb dumb bullet points, unreadable bolded red text on grey ... how's that working for you ?

The ONLY thing this demonstrates KN doing that PPT can't is the slide transition.

Presentations are about content, not hokey slide transitions

  • @Deano647

The only thing I saw on this video that PowerPoint couldn't do is that specific slide transition. Which, in the professional World would look horrible (I got a headache after a while). I hate animations in presentations, it's so unproffessional and very annoying.

  • I think it is funny how pc users are commenting on what they can do with ppt now. Did anyone see that this was made over three years ago? So yes I hope that ppt has improved in three years. So before you comment you might want to see that it was made three years ago.

  • Wow, it's more than just a slideshow. I didn't know keynote could do so much

  • I use PowerPoint for theme picking, SmartArt, and the occasional slide transition. I switch between the two regularly and will end up saving it in .ppt format. To get Keynote presentations in PowerPoint, I just save them as QuickTime files and then add it onto the slide.

  • mac is much user-friendly than windows, windows sucks~

  • Bullets kill people

  • Everybody here is stupid. Apple is an amazing company. What they do, is tgey take stuff that is out there, and tweak it so that it can be made better easier. Ppt was already out there, they remade it so that it was easier to make the same thing ppt can do, but better.

  • @toasty4000000

The only thing shown here that powerpoint couldn't do was that specific slide transition.

  • L0L0L0L0L0L @ THE APPLE PEOPLES ARGUEMENTS HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!

  • this is a crappy keynote presentation. While keynote is VASTLY superior to ppt, this vid doesnt show it very well...

  • Apart from all the illiteracy I saw in those slides, I can do all and more than that in powerpoint, so what's YOUR point?

  • when i first used pages i needed headers and footers but because i was used to word i looked everywhere to add in headers and footers but couldn't find it (i looked for 2 hours!!) and finally by accident i discovered that the headers and footers box was already on my page just like that!! how simple! i stopped using office from that moment on!

  • Seriously, far too many words per slide.

  • This video is stupidly false.

I can teach you how to do this with PPT! =))

  • So basically the amazing thing about keynote is that it's exactly the same as ppt, but the graphs move !!!!! Isn't that AMAZING guys? It just makes it all that better, good job apple !

  • @wzishan I think the amazing thing about Keynote is how easy it lets you do such things. In many ways I thought like that when using a mac. Nothing of those features are missing on windows counterparts but somehow those guys at Apple make it easy for you to execute them.

  • @steve843 I agree. I have open office, windows ppt, Mac ppt and keynote and I find keynote the best! I have made some good presentations in ppt but my best (the only ones that actually impressed EVERYONE) was made in keynote!

  • dunno bro, i really love my mac and all that shit, but powerpoint have his pros too, in keynote I CANT modify or deform text (rainbow shape for example) in pp i can do that with 3 or 2 clicks

i actually think that pp offers more options than keynote, keynote its just more stylish

  • Im not impressed by this presentation.. If you're just creative in using PowerPoint, it would much be nicer and sleeker... btw PowerPoint can also do the 3D graph, using the free program oomfo....

  • @joshuaissac .... Uhhh. jaleaus !!!!

  • Umm...what was the example? PowerPoint can do all those effects as well.

  • Keynote makes me difficult to adapt again.... really.. even making a transition is harder than in PowerPoint (powerpoint just needs 4 click or less..)

  • @aryatololHTF it takes 4 clicks, just like in Powerpoint to do in keynote.

    1. Inspector

    2. Slide tab

    3. Effect/Trans Menu

    4. Select Effect/Trans, then you are done

PS. keynote is way better than powerpoint, powerpoint is cheesy and ugly wordart filled

  • Powerpoint 2010 CAN do the cube transition.

  • Yes the results are great but what a great problem when you HAVE TO use a pc in your school or work for opening the presentation.... of course they always have power point and we DO know how terrible is the compatibility between keynote and power point.

True iwork has plenty gorgeous things :s but again, the compatibility when it comes to use a pc it's destroyed...

  • @SakumaRyuichiNG Export your Keynote presentation as a manual advance QuickTime file and you're golden. Any Windows machine with QuickTime Player, Windows Media Player, etc. can open the file, and you don't loose your beautiful transitions and builds.

  • @FlipSparrow Yup I know. Actually i would rather use VLC player than quicktime since at least i can be sure any computer with vlc will not need any codecs -'coz we all know that windows always ask for this and that codec-. However, to use a vid it's kinda "confusing" for me, somehow i lost always in times. It's true powerpoint it's cheap agains keynote, sadly I prefer to use it since it works at uni without any problem -sigh-. Yet, thanks for the suggestion :] it was a good one indeed.

  • @SakumaRyuichiNG This really is not a point at all. Keynote is better. Period. Anyone with experience in both would agree. So what if it is not compatible with crappy buggy and outdated Windows software?

  • @steve843 As I said previously, I don't know how is your educational system, but here in my country the most of the institutions use windows, so, it's a problem when it comes to reproduce the presentation. A video can works, but I, as personal preference, dislike it.

  • so, if you save a presentation in .ppt so that you can view it on a pc, will the pc then replace all the fonts it does not recognize and will the chart animations and all the other features work on it?

  • prezi fucks powerpoint and keynote in the ass any day

  • @crasherball haha, I love prezi,

  • @Norway2011 haha prezi that shit is great

  • Aside from animated charts and the particular slide transition used, all of this can be done in Powerpoint. (With enough talent, even these can be replicated - but it takes some effort.)

  • Funny that this is made in powerpoint... -.-

  • Powerpoint only catching up in 2010? Oh dear. Well, no doubt they'll be behind by another ~3 years when Apple soon releases iWork '11 (or '10).

  • The only thing I saw was the transition and the animations. Who needs that shit anyway I can write my own script and do it in flash... MACS ARE FOR GAY PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT KIND OF A GOOD PC THEY COULD HAVE BOUGHT WITH THE MONEY THEY WASTED !!!

  • @darknesswarrior96 When you're a little older than 14 you'll realise that transitions, effects, image filters, graph effects, etc.., are all the things that make your keynote engaging.

I know exactly how much I paid for my Mac, and I also know what my alternatives were. Cheapest isn't always best (you'll also get to realise this as you grow up).

Also, stop using "gay" as an insult. It makes you sound homophobic (which you probably are, since you're 14 years of age).

  • @Eggyrocks1

Excuse me, but how could you of possibly of predicted that his age is indeed 14? Also, I noticed this was close-minded, and relatively biased. It is a matter of preference of the usage of either a PC or Mac. I myself prefer a PC, but do you see me basing my entire selection on that one statement? Absolutely not. I am sorry that I am sounding like a 'smart-ass' but I really don't mind.

  • @demoloader12 His username is "darknesswarrior96" (notice the "darkness warrior" along with the number "96", which may, or may not, signify his year of birth), along with his tone of writing suggests he is rather immature and hasn't reached a stage of sufficient maturity. Again, it was a prediction, and predictions can be wrong.

Also, I entirely agree with you on the Mac vs PC "debate"; it -IS- personal preference, and I have no problem with people choosing PC over Mac, or the other way around.

  • @demoloader12 Couldn't fit this in with the other comment. I apologise if my comment sounded like I was attacking him because he used a PC, because I did not mean that. All I was merely trying to state was that Microsoft Office 2010 has only just added features which iWork has had for years, and also that Macs are not a waste of money if you know why you're buying one.

  • Hi I'm on apple's side but powerpoint has that functions... The only thing microsoft made better was office in my option.

  • Haha guys, I posted this in 2008, which is created by Keynote 06. Now people started to telling me that "Powerpoint" could do the same. PLEASE! This is created by Keynote '06!

I will be posting something new later this week just to show you what Keynote '09 can do.

  • futonrasengan1234 lol yourself dude. Pre OS X didn't get virus, trojan horses or any of that stuff that infects PC's every day. I NEVER ran and still don't run Anti-Virus apps and dare anybody to send me anything malicious. Are there vulnerabilities and exploits possible? Yup, but they just don't appear in the real world as they do with screen door security in PC's. I've used Macs AND PC's since late 80's when you were still playing with Legos. Take your troll baloney elsewhere.

  • Powerpoint can do all that

  • i know this video is from 2008, but now with PowerPoint 2010 (for windows) can do this! But i prefere keynote, have better graphics and more transitions than the PowerPoint.

  • Powerpoint can't nothing. =)

  • now poerpoint 2010 have this transitions

  • What a cool video, hehe :D

  • KEYNOTE is better everybody in the arts, music, design industry!!!! mac work alot better and a faster and never brake, dont get viruses and look alot nicer..

    also the battery last longer!!!!

  • @benfranklin17 they break and get viruses there just aren't many viruses for them and you get them rarely if at all. and they can break or crash too. they just have more cpu so they can handle more applications/processes

  • @benfranklin17 lol dude i have a mac but pc's are better. chill macs do "brake" (as you so put it) and the batteries dont always last longer. macs are also not faster because they are limited to a core 2 duo processor and they are expensive as hell. non os-x do get viruses and even then, osx does get trojans which sometimes is probably worse than a virus.

  • @futonrasengan1234

they are not limited to dual core processors. you can get them with i5 and i7 quad core processors. And saying that they can get some of the many things PC's can get does not make them worse.

  • Slick looking stuff, but with all the spelling and grammar errors, who cares?

  • PowerPoint 2007 can do even more than Keynote and using shockwave flash objects can provide functionality that is going to be in PowerPoint 2010. The only thing that we will have to wait for 2010 for is the trivial animations but to be honest presentations are about slick presentation style and once you have seen the cube/comet/vortex transitions more than once they lose resonance.

Intelligent audiences need to be engaged and are apathetic to slide transitions. Summary MS PPT 1 Key Note 0

  • @0907john well then its not powerpoint doing the extra stuff, its shockwave. the comparison is between keynote and powerpoint and the functionality inside the program, not the functionality of other programs in addition to it.

  • Hello Dear Youtuber

check out this video and post as reply anything that you might feel

    as your watching

(something like a song that comes up to your head while lisening)

pleace watch all the videos from this amazing man platying his guitar

    youtube(DOT)com/watch?v=yWNbrJLLREc&feature=channel

ReplaCE the (DOT) with an actual one

  • What I like about Keynote is that its more graphical than powerpoint including pages and numbers

  • from your presentation, i think you are trying to make us believe that PowerPoint can't fade in images? and can't show 3d graphs? have you used PowerPoint '07? or tried the new 2010?

  • Try looking at PowePoint 2010 which is scheduledfor release soon.. It is uber awesome

  • The only thing i can see is the possibility to easily animate diagrams. But what else?

  • Hey great work, I've got a question how did you find these small men on slide "Marriages in War Time", where can I find these man on Keynote '09? Thanks a lot

  • This must be the reason iWork is the industry standard...right. -.-

  • cause it doesn't run on a certain more widely available, CHEAPER, shittier, operating system.

  • mac beats windows when it comes to performance and design. simple as that.

  • @seanarrative yes but then you start comparing the prices...

  • Pages is great too. I don't know how I managed with MS Word for all those years...

  • That was awesome. I was contemplating whether or not to get the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium and Microsoft Office or just keep it simple by getting iWork 09. I don't want to purchase something without knowing visually what it can do. Now I know that the iWork's package is the way to go. Thank you for making it possible.

  • Man I wish I would of had this when I was in high school, looks so much better than power point.

  • Just a point if that was a school project or something - the keynote was nicely layed out but do not add pointless eye-candy or animations - it looks unprofessional. The constant spinning transition will quickly become annoying to the audience - but other than that pretty nice - I LOVE KEYNOTE btw, BEST MAC APP!!!!

  • can you make a video explaing how you do those anymations in the same slide? the photo changes and graphics things and the texts.

I found this video awesome. keynote is awesome. apple is AWESOME AND I LOVE MY MACBOOK!

  • The title screen proves it all. Whoever you are (creator of this video), you can take advantage of Keynote. You can make HD-quality keynotes. PPT can't do that!

And watch some WWDC from 2006+, I suggest checking out peestandingup's YT profile. They are all in HD, and are made by what you used. No, not an advanced version only the company uses, what you get in the iWork bundle.

Keynote is awesome. So are Pages and Numbers.

  • PPT presentations can be displayed on projecors and displays with any resolution. They are felxible and adapt to the resolution of the used device.

  • @olfrygt2007 So does keynote.

  • hahaha

    Keynote vs. Powerpoint

    first round, first second

    KO

    Keynote wins!

  • right 1

  • why? I can create a PPT presentiation that looks as good as the one in the vid. BTW: a presentation software consists of more than just transistions.

  • keynote hell yeah

    PD. its better than powerpoint

    PD2. powerpoint is suck

    PD3. hatersss

  • what is PD?

  • OH that means Postscript or P.S in spanish PD. Bye XD

  • PD means "post data" we use it in spanish, PS is "post scriptum"

  • cool

  • Never... !!!

  • of course it can. exept animating diagrams.

  • Yeah powerpoint can suck it! I love my mac and Keynote!
