@dpritch16 It is, though I certainly had a ton of help from rabiesx86. First time using FL, first time doing any real pitching, first time discovering what a pain in the ass finding good samples can be. The only track I didn't bother touching was the high-hat, since there wasn't a single bloody alicorn sample I could find to use for it.

@DerpyTwizzle I would redirect you to my video on the subject, but I assume you've already seen it. Even if you feel midi replacement is unacceptable, just having a midi to follow makes the song easier. Whereas this song has arps, triplets, and a huge tempo change, Tylenol just has a formidable solo. The only song I'd consider harder to do than this song is Intensive care unit (although personally I feel that none of the songs are actually hard).

@StarWarsXM While I do use FL for the audio, I don't do the midi thing or the veg replace on anything serious. It takes all the fun out of it. The enjoyment of this project was actually going through and re-creating the song via samples as opposed to plug-n-play. People can do what they want, this is just my personal preference.

@DerpyTwizzle Oh don't worry, I hate midi replacements as much as the next guy, for the same reasons. But this song and Tylenol are hard for completely opposite reasons, and personally I consider this one to be the harder song to cover musically, and visually too. Of course, if you waste your time pitch shifting, nothing is harder than a long solo filled with tiny notes. But when you cover the song in a production software, having the sheet music (aka a midi) makes the process a ton easier.

@StarWarsXM Amusingly, the arps weren't hard to do in this one. Effectively though, this -is- pitch shifted. It's just not pitch shifted in vegas.

@DerpyTwizzle Doesn't matter, the fact that the arps are present makes it harder to cover. Plus, you didn't cover them visually, something I was a bit surprised at (visually though I can't argue anything against you).

You can technically say it's pitch shifted, but to me there's a glaring difference between covering the song with samplers and pitch shifting in vegas whichs require far too much effort to be worth it and usually turns out bad (see: pkwinner02).

@StarWarsXM Didn't cover them visually? See the two celestia heads? They're the arps. I did 1 flip per 4 notes instead of 1 each, because it spazzed so fast it was really distracting and more or less looked like ass.

@DerpyTwizzle I knew the heads were the arps, and I did mean arps in that way, which are always distracting. Again, I'm not about to dispute your visual skills, especially after the help you gave me on mine. But hey, I'm more of an audio type of guy anyway. To be honest I really wish I could just cover the songs and not even touch vegas, but I'm hardly a sound producer and to cover a song with pony sources without visuals would be quite the let down. Meh, I'm prejudiced against this song a bit.

@StarWarsXM I think you've officially confused me. Arps are covered, it's Celestia saying "Twilight" with the T's cut off, so it's more like "Whyligh". Visually, it's the heads. Not sure what "Plus, you didn't cover them visually, something I was a bit surprised at " means at this point :)

@DerpyTwizzle I'm talking only visuals here. The audio is clear, but the heads don't flip nearly as fast as the actual arpeggios. Like you said, it's overly distracting and generally looks terrible.
