  • When I have brake noise issues I use the Silencer, for cars, cycles and bikes. Silencer spray has soft metals that are pushed into the pores of the rotor to create a better mating surface. Cleaning is good, but this spray stops brake squeal and improves stoping power on new pads. Silencer took only seconds to apply, then I just made 10 to 15 stops to complete. A $15 can does 50 rotors ( BrakeSilencer com ), its their car page but technical is explained. It really works, Mike

  • thats not the proper tool to squeeze the cylinder in you will fucked the calipper because pressure is not uniform and not evenly spread on the edges i guess is the red neck way to change brakes good luck

  • Hello Norwood92jc

Ive just changed a set of brake pads and discs on my sisters citreon c1 every thing went fine with the parts wtc. But when i poped open the bonnet i noticed brake fluid was all over the brake cylinder and on the brake fluid resivour. I had the cap closed when i was doing the brakes. The fluid did not go down is it a posibility that it just over flowed out the top of it iam just a bit concerned. I have done a few the past but this is the first with this problem.

  • THANK YOU! Finally a video that shows u where the fuck to put the dam lubricant!

  • how can i stop my brakes on the driver side from smoking because i had forgot to spray that side when i was installing them when i ran out of brake cleaner spray

  • FYI too some people. The Bearing Nut. or 1inch i should say. Need's a Torque rench because anyone who OVER tighten's that nut will Damage the bearing's. so be Careful.

  • If I was going to the mechanic, he woudn't be it. He knows how change them, but he sure forgets a while lot of stuff!

BTW, i just myself a great deal on a full front and back breaks package through Advance Auto Parts. If you call 888-338-4516 and mention CC20, you get 20% on everythign they got. Use it.

  • put the old break pad and push the piston in...

    rest good work..

  • dude weres ur jack stand?

  • no jack stands, forgot the wheel seal, only used a C-clamp to push in the brake cylinder, no grease for the bearing, spray the hell out of the rotor with brake cleaner and then smear it with greasy ass hands.... this video should be titled: how NOT to change your breaks and rotors

  • i think you have to tight the nut , not sust with hand .

also you forgot the seal .

you have to smear 5the bearing with grease .

    greenfeld meir

  • u spray it wit brake cleaner but den u put ya finger prints all over it again???....smart dude

  • can you start your car, when the brake caliper is of the rotor ???

  • 1:45, someone trying to start a honda

  • man u need to tighten the 1inch nut ..not just hand tight ...

  • Safety is always first. (Accidents can happen to Anyone)

Sir it looked like the vehicle was only supported with a Jack. ALWAYS use JACK STANDS, or serious injury can occur.

  • did you pack the bearings with grease? because your supposed to if you didnt

  • Thanks, You are better than the professional Video.

    They only make me nervous

  • The rule of thumb when adjusting wheel bearings is: Snug tight with a wrench then back of a 1/4 turn.

  • break spray u said it is to make them look shiny ... its to prevent the rust on break or rotor or what ever u english/american say ...

  • @Ljcenter and it also makes them look better =) but its mostly for rust =)

  • hmmm no grove on hand?

  • you for got to gress the inside of the rotor where you put the baring back in always want to do that your rotors will last longer when you do that. but good video

  • oreilly's is better

  • good day mate, you didn`t mention to suck-up a bit of brake fluid to reservoir to prevent the fluid to overflow when you are about to compress the caliper mechanism to fit the newly installed disc pad. tnx.

  • @MrWillydoit ya at first i did that but it kept coming lose so i just leave it as tight as possible

  • This is the greatest video that has ever been posted to YouTube. I have contacted my good friend Tom Hanks and he wants to use this man in his next movie.

  • @penn707 hahaha ya im sure tom hanks woud need help from a guy like me.hahha ya

  • At 4:31, what's that sound? Are you near a military airfield? Sounds like a F-35 lol

  • @jeffhanson1 haha nah man im near LAX so the planes go over pretty low

  • duralast built to last , great brake pads liftime warreny and auto zone has the best warrenty every, i know this since i work there lol

  • @hamtalker2007 hhahhaha yaa some hook ups haha

  • Hi im Jon from Expert Village...(jokes) Great vid, learnt quite a bit.

  • man thats alot of grease!

  • autozone pads rock!

when mines wore down, they gave me free replacements

    lifetime warranty for the win!

  • No reason to spray a rotor with brake cleaner.

  • @MustangFan424

he wanted to make sure he got the protective oil from the factory off

and he blasted them again to make sure there's no grease so the new pads will "bed" properly to the rotor surfaces

  • dude over kill with the brake cleaning solution LOL

  • and when compressing the caliper, to make it a bit easier open up the brake fluid lid, might get a spill tho

  • Well not trying to bust your balls but:

Spraying brake clean right next to the grease on the spindle (not good)

C-clamp was positioned upsidedown, if you compress the piston in the caliper uneven you can mess things up I prefer the C-style locking pliers. You can put them right in the middle of the piston without catching one edge.

    That said nice vid

  • Why did you email me to watch this video about car stuff Chris? Me no likey the car stuff, lol.

  • you should get a rubber mallet

  • i had one i broke it trying to replace the pinion

  • no not hand tight... pack the bearings full of grease tighten with adjustable pliers and then back off a quarter turn, or so.. just enough to tighten the rotor down and push the grease in tight... the rotor should be able to spin about one full turn.

  • spaying rotors are not really needed ...then he wipes rotors...hmmm.again he sprays why? no need....no need for gel serves what purpose ...so silly spin rotor fof flay out funny bro...cclamp or cilidber presing tool at local parts store for round 10 dollars.. other than going over board he is pretty decent try not havin cam op. talk in next video that can be distracting at tymes good tutorial tho

  • Thanks for the vid, be careful not to spray brake fluid on hands, use latex gloves, and never breathe brake fluid. Leave the area for 20 - 30 mintues after spraying. Nice vid

  • Nice job! very good tutorial.

  • Theres only 1 bolt holding the whole wheel? lol wtf. wtf lol. that is really scary.

  • hahha ya it is hhahaha

  • I have a 2003 Jeep Liberty. I just did all 4 rotors and pads today and boy are the older models much easier to do. It took me about 15 minutes just to put the pads on just because the whole design is not thought through.

Your 92's system is a lot more straight forward. btw You did a great job.

  • thanks man im trying to learn all i can

  • YOU FOGOT THE GREASE SEAL

  • ya i know i went back in and put that on.. sorry for that

  • You made some mistakes, first dont set new greaseup bearings on ground one spec wrong dirt could cause seating problems. When tightening the bearings go by install specs usually they require a tourqing down then backing the nut to neutral zero then like pound pressure. All the time you spin the rotor to seat the bearing correct. You have done this wrong my friend. Close isnt good enough.

  • well thank you for your comment but this was a while ago and i have learned from my mistakes. but thank you for telling me anyways.

  • if it works it works! hes not fuckin racing hes car! unless he does.

  • nah man i cant go a mile without the tranny smoking..

  • You went to autozone didnt you

  • yes i did i like thier prices and they usually have all the parts

  • Nothing wrong with Autozone, parts are cheap and most have a lifetime warranty.

  • yes thats why i like them and if they dont have the parts they can order them or point me in the right direction.

  • did you support the vehicle only using the jack?

  • yes i did only because i dont have anything else to use

  • If you put one of the old brake pads over the caliper piston when using the C clamp to push the piston back in it will be straight and not damage the caliper or caliper piston.

  • @beaverboy444 yes you can use the old pads to push back the piston .

  • did he put the grease seal in???

  • i did after i forgot to put that in the video

  • do u live next to an airport..

  • ya i live like 20 min to LAX

  • It's somehow ok, just 3mentions:

1: Don't let that brake fluid spill all over, it's highly corosive and rubs out paint in a second (in first videou)

2: When you put the bearing's nut.. tighten it with a torque wrench at prescribed value (written in manual)

3: Don't put that "C" clamp offset to the receptor cylinder of the caliper to sqeeze it in, it can come offcenter and have major problems, push them back only dead straight!

Otherwise it's job well done :)

  • Thanks for the tip ill keep it in mind for the future.... thanks !!!

  • Norwood92jc, can the back rotors be replaced? also was wondering when you tighten the front rotor nut, does it have tobe tighten with your hand only or can a tool be used? Just waiting for my front rotors and brake-pads tobe delivered and I should be ready to play. cheers

  • well if you have rotors on the back i dont see why you cant change them .. i have drums on mine so its complicated ..and you only want to tighten it with you hand not a tool..and dont forget to put the wheal seal on i 4got to put it in the video ..sounds cool man thanks for the comment

  • Hey Norwood92j, managed to change front rotors and brake pads on my Toyota Echo =)its all good and very happy with them, thanks to your easy to follow video!!

My Echo hasn't got any brakes at the rear tires but wasn't sure what their called, is it Drums? and not rotors? also do you know any good cheap online auto part store in the USA? I have also seen coloured rotors and drums, but not sure where to purchase them from.

Thanks again for the great installation video =)

    G

  • thank you and as for the brakes in the back there probabley drums i cant do those yet so ya .. as for the parts i get all mine at autozone cheap and good quality plus there a warrantity for almost everything so yaaa hope this was help full thanks for the comment oo and i hope u dident 4get to put the back wheal seal on cause i forgot to put that in the vid

  • Hey Norwood92jc, just discover some brown liquid coming from both of my front new rotors. not sure where this is coming from, but may have to clean out again. maybe its always been there before with old rusted rotors, but had not noticed it. Do you have any idea what is? thanks again
