my 2 year old son has worse tantrums than this, and the advice is to ignore, so im sure this lady is seething inside but shes doing the right thing in my opinion. its so hard dealing with a tantrum, my eldest never had them but my toddler has them bad, i never treated them any different, but hes a pretty headstrong boy. please dont be so quick to judge, some kids have tantrums and some dont, its part of growing up. we all get frustrated adults included!!

I used to laugh and talk shit about parents who's kids would act like that and say "WTF dude whoop they ass" but as a mom of 2 and my oldest son is 2 and has Autism he sometimes acts like this in the store. So I try not to judge. It's hard already when your kids acts like this but sometimes you need think about wearing the shoes on the other side

This is the MOTHER'S fault! The child's parents obviously have NO parenting skills. Secondly, the mother seems to be enjoying the attention she is getting, being videotaped. As a parent of a 5yr old autistic boy I understand this situation completely..you can't always "just leave" as this is bound to happen every time & a babysitter is rarely an option. She did the right thing by ignoring her, the more you try to stop it the worse it gets & it would have just wasted time & they'd have been there even longer! Oh my mom wouldn't have let me scream in a store like that. She would have listened for half a minute and then have taken me outside and beat my butt. I suppose it's now acceptable to allow a child to scream in public and ignore them.
What you need to do in this situation is simple. You put everything back, and you leave the store, and tell the kid you won't be returning until she learns to behave in public. And when I say "put everything back", that means all ths stuff in the cart. Don't escalate the situation, just calmly walk out and go home. You may need the items in question, but the longer you allow the child to act like that without any reaction will only escalate the problem.
her mommy handled it very well. There's not much you can do once a child gets to this point except to wait it out. Sometimes even waiting doesn't work because the child might be overtired.

@cookiepuss1987 i would have done it right there. on base in front of the sp (security police) & in walmart when she was 2 she was having a tantrum over a toy told her she needed 2 stop several times she didn't, i warned her what would happen she didn't so i had 2 pop her butt. then last year when she was 5 in the wic office she kept climbing on the chairs told her 2 stop she didn't so i had 2 pop her but in the front of the security guard she stopped acting like a heavin like the other kids.

As a parent of a 5yr old autistic boy I understand this situation completely..you can't always "just leave" as this is bound to happen every time & a babysitter is rarely an option. She did the right thing by ignoring her, the more you try to stop it the worse it gets & it would have just wasted time & they'd have been there even longer! If YOU can't handle it then walk away, its obviously not your child or you wouldn't be so rude!

Do you know this child?? Do you know what kind of life style she came from?? Do you know if she is a foster child or adopted child?? Have you ever heard of children that have R.A.D.?? Maybe educate yourself a little bit and not judge parents for how you see their kids acting because you never know that could be a child with an attachment disorder or R.A.D. that has had horible things happen to them. If you do not know then do not judge them.

What you need to do in this situation is simple. You put everything back, and you leave the store, and tell the kid you won't be returning until she learns to behave in public. And when I say "put everything back", that means all ths stuff in the cart. Don't escalate the situation, just calmly walk out and go home. You may need the items in question, but the longer you allow the child to act like that without any reaction will only escalate the problem.

@cookiepuss1987 i would have done it right there. on base in front of the sp (security police) & in walmart when she was 2 she was having a tantrum over a toy told her she needed 2 stop several times she didn't, i warned her what would happen she didn't so i had 2 pop her butt. then last year when she was 5 in the wic office she kept climbing on the chairs told her 2 stop she didn't so i had 2 pop her but in the front of the security guard she stopped acting like a heavin like the other kids.
