"Clannad" also simply means the visual novel, and the 24 episode anime.

The anime adaptation is known as "Clannad: After story" and follows on a world where tomoya falls in love with a girl named nagisa.

This series "Clannad: Tomoyo After" is like an "After Story" but with tomoyo instead of nagisa.

This game was more fan service for the fans and the fact that Clannad was the first non-H game made which angered the company's fans, so this was made. I never really did like the Tomoyo and Tomoya relationship. I ship Tomoyo more with Sunohara than anything else.

Funny that the only way any girl in Clannad can be paired with Tomoya Okazaki if he never meets Nagisa. I find that sad.

I dunno but this opening seems different to the one I have. i have the original press release edition from 2005 and i can easily tell several differences between the two openings. fireworks and the ending bit where the characters pop into screen being the big giveaways. and Tomoyo's shirt at the end being RED? its black on my opening, and the characters Fade into view (like their silhouette is already there). not pop into view like they do in this one. the fireworks also seem different,

I think you people shouldn't be going all rage over a Kyou After. It would be deeply bland compared to Tomoyo After. First of all, Kyou/Ryou have never faced any tragedy worth crying about, nor do they have trouble in the household unlike Tomoyo. To have Tomoyo After is to have a better plot with more impact. All Tomoya was to Kyou was someone she had a crush on or loved. If they did make a Kyou After, then there might not be much conflict present in the plot.

I understand your reasoning but conflicts can easily be developed later, it doesn't have to stem from already understood situations about characters. That being said, it would also be fairly difficult to develop said conflicts anyway. But you can't make an assumption just because the characters haven't faced much tragedy yet.

Personally,i believe clannad is design for boy rather than girl. In fact, Most of my female friends didn't impress by it.......

the type of anime they love the most is that one crazy girl surrounded by a dozen of handsome gentleman...you know...

Besides, the girls in clannad were far too unrealistic...too perfect. girls hate that as long as they will not act like that in the reality.

The main character is cool and not gay as most anime with a guy surrounded with girls usually is and partly perverted with fan service but this anime dont have it. He usually hangs out with the girls like a group activity thing and sometimes he hangs out with his guy friend too. I personally like ecchi anime if the main character is not gay. golden boy was one of the best ecchi anime

I personally love this anime... it´s very touching and you WILL cry (for sure) in the second season, clannad after story....I don´t know if you´re a girl or a boy but the show is designed more for girls than for boys(because of the love story and shoujo elements)...but boys can enjoy it too because of the funny situations and such..(naturally boys can also enjoy it because of the emotional plot if they´re sensible enough>sry I sound like I´m discriminating boysO_O)So I personally love this
