Fred Moore's "improved" Mickey gave him (And Minnie for that matter) more expressive eyes---and as in this cartoon, his ears changed perspective as his head turned. I wish they had stuck to this modification. Elsewhere, Donald's smoking and Clara Cluck's voluptuous contours and dancing are definitely the stuff of the past. A crying shame animators don't think they way they once did.

@Dawnflight1 In the old days when the cartoons was in black and white, characters had gloves because most characters back then had black bodies (like Mickey) as well as the hands. Whenever characters would cross their handThat's why they had gloves and even when color was possible, Disney (as well as other animation studios at the time) was aware that the audience was used to see Mickey and friends with gloves so they didn't remove them.

The giant chicken is Clara Cluck. The "random character" was Horace Horsecollar. They were more important in the older Disney shorts. Some characters weren't created yet or wouldn't have fit into the setting of the cartoon. Such is probably the case with Daisy, Pluto, Donald's nephews and Chip and Dale.

It's funny how when they experimented with the "in perspective" ears, they tried to keep them similar to his original ears by coloring the insides dark blue.

But even with these ears, they're still cheating on the perspective a little. When he's turned one way, you still see a little more of the other ear than you should. I guess they figured it would make him look too much unlike himself if they made it 100% accurate.

At any rate, they changed it back to the old ears pretty quick.
