I think you can just zone out then reenter, before larva eater shows exp, lp. It should appear.

You seem to be one of the preeminent experts on FF12. Have you ever tried to make Larva Eater appear in the lower levels of the Great Crystal? Every method I saw involved either Necrophobes or the Mom Bomb ring (both level 60 areas), but stats are given for a level 45 Larva Eater. This tells me that it should be possible to spawn it in the lowest levels. What's your opinion?

I have many questions:

1) Why do you need to build a chain by having mom bombs self-destruct...I know killing them would break the Gargoyle chain but that also brings my second question.

2) Why do you need an outside chain level of 4? Why can't you just chain mom bombs together and end up with a really high chain from them soley???

@XGiftedGamerX If you just chain mom bombs by killing, the level will brake when killing larvae eater. So you have to chain the same type of enemies the larvae eater itself is. And letting the mom bombs self-destruct won't brake the gargoyle-chain but will give you the count of 265 enemies that is neccessary to get the larvae eater to appear. By doing so, the chance of getting danjuro will be much higher than the normal 1%.

If you have the spell 'Bubble', it will double your HP. It will eventually go to 9999HP (but you can go higher than that, by press 'up' or 'down' to select a leader, and on the top left-hand corner, instead of showing 9999HP, it will show like...over 10,000HP, this can only be achieved if you do lots of level up or equip a strong helm/armour which increases HP).

Wow dude, well done! I didn't finish all the subquests in the game. I didn't had the patience to play a game where it seems the story is a complete cliche of both fantasy stories and star wars, where the main characters have the personality of NPC's, where the treasure chests are random (?!), and where... I finished the best parts of the licence board way before the end. Bah, it just overall sucked... I miss Hironobu and Nobuo :/

i disagree, Balthier Fran and Ashe were all amazing, great personalitys and Ashe's fragility really moved me, Fran's connections with her family and the wood also moved me with its echos of east traditional family values and strict rules on behaviour and relationships and Fran conveyed the true freedom that can come from disconnecting yourself. The scenes where she said she could no longer hear the wood and feared she hated moved me. Vaan and Penelo i agree were lifeless and just like NPC's.

You don't have to spend 52 hours to get danjuro only thing you need to do is wait untill 4th chain and wait untill you see a WHITE flashing number doesn't matter which number now kill larva eater and you have a 100% chance that he drops danjuro BUT DO NOT PICK UP ANY LOOT NOT EVEN WHEN YOU'RE ON THE 4TH CHAIN just wait when you see that white flashing numbr which means your next drop is EXTREMELY rare and that's danjuro

Hornito, Fumarole, Tumulus, Caldera, and Volcano are all ranged weapons for the actual bombs like Water Bombs, Poison Bombs etc.

Any Suggestions?? ... I used the mom bomb exploding method while chaining the gargoyel's b4 hand (icantspell)... I started off with a 38 chain with the big coins b4 i killed the first LE... then repeated the method to spawn the larva eater 18 times and he dropped 8 demon eyeballs and no danjuro :( ... 13 hours and no luck ... guess i'll try again on the next day off...

Are you letting the Mom Bombs explose themselves. or are you killing the bombs? What you want is the high loot chain big yellow coins from Gargoyles in Giruvegan and basically just walk around in Great Crystal for mom bombs to explode without toughing them. If thats done Larva eater should drop a big coin at least by his 3rd kill if anything.

Wow....seriously I don't understand why Larva Eater doesn't drop anything. And it appears you do everything like all players have done. It doesn't matter if you collect all the loot really as long as your on the large coin for larva eater. Your chain number would just be different. instead of 24 probably is 41 or around there.

Try it out.  Don't collect anything from Gargoyles. It very well could be because of the number size. I do remember that Dustia sometimes doesn't drop anything around the 60th chain to 68th chain. That could be the reason but still I don't understand why Larva Eater has no drops. Should drop when u kill him 6-7 times. He did not drop anything for me but only 1 or 2 times, never one after the next though.

thanks, i tried it again 2day without collecting the gargoyles loot and kept the chain as i did before but i couldnt get 2 c if it would've worked bcos after killing 2 in a row and having no drops i accidently killed a bomb bcos i 4got to take off the gambit 4 fighting larva eater, but i'll try again next week at some point and hopefully be succesfull, thanks 4 all the info
