  • yay now if i want to be a airbrush tattoo artist all i gotta do now is make sure people only want circles

  • @jeremy58589721 Yep! Although with a little practice you should be able to graduate to squares too! Then you can offer two kinds!

  • i want to airbrush my sisters hockey helmet what kind of paint wold i use???

  • @OhHeyEh Ive never heard it called that before!!!

  • i want to make it

  • I like the effect of the outside edge stencil best :D Makes the drawing pop out of the background~

I started using a marker airbrush recently :)

  • @Purly Yes it does have a nice affect. However for airbrush tattoos you want a nice crisp edge (99% of the time) and so the inside works best.

But you are right, the airbrush allows for a wide range of possibilities, and is pretty easy too!

  • whats the prize of airbrush in pesos

i tried the ball thing, lol and got carried away, my A3 canvas sheet looks like it was left outside in the rain,, It looks great my mum snatched it up and now has it hanging in her spare room....

It is all thanks to you..! Great tip.../..

    Cheers Sully....

  • @Danjo74 Well I am glad I could inspire you!

And you are right, it is such a simple technique yet it makes you look like a pro! That is why airbrush tattoo are so effective, anyone can use simple techniques like simple shading and look like an absolute genius to anyone watching!

Good luck with your airbrushing, would love to see some videos, you can post one as a video response to this if you want, so others here can see it too!

  • whats the name of the song?

  • Thanx, nice technique.

  • @romac53 Thanks

  • Can You make a Snooker Nr 8 ball with easy technic?

    Thank You great vides

  • @chiccoka - Sure you could do that, just use a different color for whatever ball you want to do.

  • Any1 no.But really helpful.Thx to share it.

  • Nice video! i got a question, can you just use any airbrush to do tattoos or do you need a spacific type? and what about tip size? thanks!!

  • @02tnewton Thanks!

Yes you could use any airbrush. But some are better. Dual action is really what you need if you want to do it professionally. Tip size depends on what you want to do, but an Iwata HP-BCS can handle most anything - fine line or broad coverage. This is what I use, I have 8 of them!

They are great for airbrush tattoos, easy to clean, easy to use and nice even coverage. Check out the link in the description for some more info if you are interested in the business.

    Thanks again!

  • the one in the middle looks clean

  • Good simple beginners vid, man! I like the simpleness. Most "how to" vids only make you feel worthless. This is a good beginners painting excercise. Then you can add chrome effects and stuff.

  • Thanks Adler556!

  • where is the instramentol from

  • actually tallent dose have nothing to do with art, some of the most famouse artists had little tallent. art also isnt about impressing the most people posible. some never shared their art and are now some of the most famouse artists after death, and some artists aimed to confuse, discust and outrage the public.

  • Art is what touches the heart! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Can't say any more than that.

  • art is SELF-EXPRESSION, some ppl may like it, others may not, but you expressed yourself in whatever way you have chosen, there for it is ART.

  • sorry to say but not anyone CAN be an airbrush ARTIST! anyone can try to do it, but not everyone will be good at it! ive seen so many horrible airbrush "artist" with years of experience and their work is just pathetic... Being an artist is not for everyone... its just for the gifted and talented...

  • Yep your right, not all people can be AIRBRUSH ARTISTS! But an airbrush *tattoo* artist, yes just about anyone can. You know why? Well because an airbrush artist is just that, an artist with an airbrush, but an airbrush tattoo artist is just someone who spray paint through a stencil, not multiple stencils, just one. Airbrush artists rely on their artistic talent, multiple stencils and freehand to get the job done.

We do not. A more accurate name would be airbrush tattoo sprayer.

  • sorry to say but ur wrong about that. i know it seems so simple but there is a trick to it. it requires trigger control and u have to know at wat psi u have to use, and u have to know how to not blob the skin.... and ive seen many people do it wrong! certain are only for certain people...

  • Well see you are making a fatal mistake in your reasoning. You are saying, well there are these 3 or 4 things people need to know. Yep I agree, but do those things that take years, months, days or even hours to learn? No, and you know they dont.

    Psi -anywhere from 10-25 psi

'blobbing the skin' - dont put airbrush too close, or pull trigger to far back

trigger control - 20 minutes practicing!

So how long did all that take?

    Anyone can do it.

  • @svt20009 I disagree with you and theweekendworker, everybody can be an airbrush artist. Absoulutely everybody can.

Art is whatever you call art, if I were to just scribble some lines using an airbrush and called it art you'd say that it looks like shit but you won't be able to say that it is no art. So yes, everybody can.

But not everybody can create stuff using an airbrush that others actually like, then again that's very subjective, too so I assume everybody can do that, as well lol.

  • i believe you are wrong, not everyone can be an airbrush artist, us artist always aim to do the best to impress! to show that we can stand out. so someone just doing self satisfaction art is not art... only the gifted and talented are artist. and NOT EVERYONE is gifted and talented, so yea, not everyone can be an artist.

  • @svt20009 I am not trying to be offensive but I am not fucking kidding, either. Art is whatever you want to call art. I can shit on a table and call it art. Whether other people agree with it or not doesn't change the fact that it indeed is an artistic piece.

Art lacks a proper definition so I can do whatever I want, it'd be art and I'd be an artist, an airbrush artist in this case.

Also, talent has very little to do with it, just look at all those shitty but expensive paintings.

  • ok yea, ur talking about self satisfaction art, anyone can do anything and like it. but a TRUE artist shoots for the best, i do my best to impress, not myself but for everyone to see what i am capable of... and thats what i call art. and ur very wrong saying talent has very little to do with it... go say that to a famous artist and see what they tell u... plus... Being a TRUE artist and making art is not for everyone... just for those than can.

  • @svt20009 I am not sure why you try to make art to something that special. I am an artist myself and yes, art is for everybody. Skill has very little to do with it. You only need skill to create something you want to create which requires skill. Also, art is not defined by whatever the hell you do art for. It does not matter if you want to see what you are capable of or not. I am not sure how old you are but I do not think that you get the idea of art being undefined.

  • @svt20009 Skill is cool and can be of advantage but there are thousands of pieces that look like random splatter and some of them are more worth than what we gonna make in our whole life. Skill is useful but it's totally not what makes the piece to art. A lot of images created during the era of impressionism look like shit, they're worth a lot, though.

I like how you emphasize TRUE, because there is no TRUE art or a TRUE artist. Lots of those we call artists now were losers during their time.

  • Hi guys, I have been following this discussion of yours!

I think you two are on a different page. What you two are arguing about is less to do with *art* and more to do with *sell-able art*. Sure anyone can be an artist, I agree with Rimdeker on that. Art is self expression, creating something.

  • But sell-able art on the other hand needs to have a certain feel or look. Even abstract, when you look at the old masters and look at an amuteurs, you can see a big difference. One is an artist and the other is expressing themselves.

So I think you are both right, just in different ways, but for the sake of this argument, whether anyone can make art ... I think the winner is Rimdeker. lol

  • @theweekendworker what kind of brush did you use

  • @Rimdeker Talent has everything to do with it, Just look at all those shitty but expensive paintings that no one buys.... If you suck, people notice... Especially with airbrush art where most of the time your given specific instructions on what the customer wants.... If they want realistic flames on their car and you give them wavy lines with a clear coat... Guess what.. Word gets out.. Your name gets ruined and you go out of business.. Same goes for tattoo artists... You sir, know nothing.

  • i'm agree with you, in some parts. my opinion is that if you put your heart in your work, if you can feel it, then it's art, but some people have closed spirits. My words.

  • i know wat u mean, but my whole point is that as an artist, we want to get our art as far as we can, and impress as much as we can! u know?

  • can you use any type of airbrush for tattos?

  • Yes any airbrush will do. However some are better than others. Dual action airbrushes are what I recommend, what most people recommend. They give you much more control over a single action.

But when it comes down to it, you are just spraying paint! As long as you have an airbrush you can spray tattoos!

  • cool that's exactly how i draw my spheres with pencil, lol some thing my art teachers told me to do

  • excellent keep em comin

  • do you use an industrial air compressor or a small airbrush compress

  • I use a small hobby compressor. you can use industrial air compressors, but they are kind of overkill.

  • thanks a lot for the advice, I have a large compressor but, as you said overkill; never went over 60 psi

  • Excellent i'm struggling with my airbrushing so i might give these a try thanks, I agree the 3rd was very nice :o)

  • Thanks!

  • If you need any help, I have a forum for airbrush tattoo artists, its kind of small, but I can answer questions anyone has on there. Also some other members answer questions as well.

It is at theweekendworker . com/forum

  • wow...i love the third sphere very nice

  • Thanks very much! It was easy with the stencil, it kinda polishes itself up without having to do anything special lol

    Thanks for the kind comment!

  • oh man ur are genial!

    that seems real

    applaus for u

  • this would be helpful if people wanted blue balls tatooed on them

  • lol

  • dude where did u bought those pencils i wanna do that too

  • I think you mean to say "stencils" instead of pencils, if so then they can be bought at a few different places. Some are better than others, I explain it all in my eguide. Which you can find if you click the link in the description.

  • good video nothing i didn't know but i might help you with your wording a bit they are called positive and negative stencils. I presonally like the first one you did the best. Also your right anyone can airbrush but the thing is if your in it only for money you will never become a true artist. You have to love your art to make it in the big timers game. Ipersonally do it mostly for fun and a bit of extra cash on the side but i love airbrushing like i love my family :P keep it up. 5 starz

  • Thanks, will fix that, I knew there must be a name for them!

I know what you mean by liking the first one, all artists like the freehand ones better. But this is a video demonstrating why it is easy to be an airbrush tattoo artist. Not a artsy artist. Its about putting on clear, crisp images on a body.

I also agree with your statement that you cant be in it for the money if you want to become a true artist.

  • BUT this isn't about being an artist, its about running a part-time business. 2 entirely diff things.

I whole heart-edly agree with you though! If you are an artist, dont make it about money, if you love art dont become an airbrush tattoo artist, it will soon become a "chore" and you will lose the passion you once had.

Thanks for the post,I would hate for someone to get into this business and destroy their love of art.

And WOW! I watched your vids, you are truly great! love the family tribute!

  • well i too airbrush as a hobby but currently i dont have a working airbrush . i just picked up a central palm. to see what it was about im thinking about buying a master g44 . any suggestions to a better or diffrent brush (around $100)

  • Well it kinda depends on what you want to use it for. If you are using it for model model cars and planes then you will want one that is for fine detail only. You probably wont need a large spray when doing models.

If you want it for general art, like airbrush painting, then you will want one that can do both.

I recommend an Iwata eclipse HP-BCS in my eguide for doing airbrush tattoos, it does both. It can do large areas but also do fine details like smaller parts.

    I

  • The HP-BCS airbrush also has an unclog feature that is extremely useful! You just pull back the nut and it unclogs the airbrush, you dont have to take it apart anymore.

It cost about $100, that includes a hose as well. Go to dickblick . com , they have them at the best price. I have 8 of them and they have never steered me wrong! Clean it regularly and you will have it for a lifetime.

Keep in mind I have only used it for airbrushing tattoos, not art or models. So it may vary.

    Hope this helped

  • ive see those and i dont know i was thinking of something gravity feed . i hope to eventually be doing motorcycle gas tanks fenders helmets etc.. oh by the way do u no if u can get more color contaniners for the hp-bcs cause theyr a bitch to clean every 5 min

  • Well if you want a gravity feed airbrush, Iwata also makes one of those, it has the same unclogging feature as the HP-BCS. Do a search in google for iwata eclipses and it will bring up their site.

I have never used a gravity feed as it would be extremely difficult to do an airbrush tattoo with one!

I dont know what you mean by having to clean them every 5 mins lol I go all summer without cleaning my bottles. If you have paint in them all the time, they will never dry or harden.

    Thanks!

  • I thing he means that he only has one spray cup and everytime you change colour, you need to clean and refill it. I have only one cup myself and I'm having the same problem.

  • Yeah we discussed it in private messaging. With the HP-BCS you have bottles, so you just buy however many bottles as you have colors.

I am guessing you have a gravity feed. I dont know about those, there may be a way to have some sort of "bottle" that attaches to the top, but unlikely.

If you search google for airbrush forum, they may be able to help anyone facing the same problem. I imagine it must be a pain having to keep cleaning and refilling each time!

  • Nice to hear from a fellow airbrusher!

I an not a rep for any company, I am like you, I travel around making money with airbrush tattoos, I am the author of the book (the link in the desc.), so I try to promote that!

    Thanks for posting!

  • MY DUDE YOU ARE RIGHT!! I HAVE MY OWN TRAVELING AIRBRUSH BUSINESS & I CUT MY OWN STENCILS RIGHT NOW. I USE CREATEX RIGHT NOW, BUT I PLAN ON ADVANCING TO MORE PERM. INKS WHEN IT PAYS FOR ITSELF.ARE YOU A REP. FOR A COMPANY? DO YOU GUYS NETWORK WITH OTHER ARTISTS? GOOD LUCK TO ALL SPRAYERS ON ANY LEVEL(i am all levels) YALL ARE MY PEEPS!!!

  • this is a very well done video and the use of tags is great although you do mak it look really easy I am also an Airbrusher and I think it is slightly misleading anybody can do it without saying anything about the time and money needed to get a result like this

  • I think you are misinterpreting the content of the video. I am not saying anyone can do what I just did, I am saying that with the aid of the last stencil, as you know being an airbrusher yourself, will greatly aid you.

I sometimes let people on my booth spray a tattoo on me for fun, they always wonder how to fade colors and where to put them to make it look good. I tell them it doesnt really matter! And it doesnt, with a stencil it will look good 95% of the time no matter what you do.

  • Plus the money is no real hinderence, as I state in my website, one option to have a functional airbrush tattoo booth costs about $500, and if all you wanted to do was fool around with an airbrush it could be less than a $100.

I do appreciate the comment. And it is nice to have a fellow airbrusher here! By the way what do you do? Cars? Tattoos?

  • firstly How could I have started Airbrushing for Only $100 (I'll private message you my address)

and I just do Art on paper for the moment cos I have only really been Airbrushing for a year and It is only a hobby for my as I am not making any money out of it.

  • Ok I understand,and i agree.

Great video and keep up the amazing work

    you're very skilled.

  • Thank you again. Yes you are correct though, for $100 it would be very basic and not so good equipment :) I would not suggest to anyone they do that, but you could if you just wanted to see what it was like.

Thanks again, I will be subscribing to you in case you ever decide to put up some of your work. Would love to see it!

  • you do have a talent. Would like to see more bigger than airbrushing spheres though. Good luck with your business!

  • Thanks for the kind words!

  • nice quick effect, good for a snooker scene.

  • Thanks, yeah I thought that too! (in case any of you viewers dont know what snooker is, its like billiards, which is pool)
