its a great sport, but dont worry its not as dangerous as luge..its safer. its actually a pretty safe sport, (still rough though) going head first helps in that as crazy as it seems.

Its called Skeleton b/c when it was first invented in the Late 1800's the sleds looked Skeletal.  The name stuck.

It Depends on the track but the world cup track you can get up to 80 mph but some tracks are faster than that
