  • I don't think it likes being trapped...

  • ONE OF US. ONE OF US. ONE OF US.

  • fantastic. what is the timeframe of the movie?

  • what is it eating

  • Try watching this with listening to Hungarian Rhapsody No.2.

  • If it was big like us maybe more bigger, how wud it look.......maybe an ALIEN....!!!!!!!

  • God made this creature so simple. Praise the almighty one for such simple yet benevolent creatures!

  • damn nature u scary!

  • Lol. I have sympathy for the little guy except he was like picking his nose when amoeba got him!

  • Interesting. :)

Poor little guy but that's the circle of life.

  • lol that guy in the middle " What i got trap ?... help me out !!! ( finally he give up ) + Die

  • 6t .....

  • 6T whats up xD

  • Hallo 6T :D

  • IT GOT ATE

  • The protist was like "hey whatevah man, I don't care" Then, WAY AFTER the amoeba shut it in, there was a brief second of "huh? What the...?" Then that poor litle guy went TOTALY BALLISTIC!!! Alas, he got eated in the end. =(

  • Wat the hell.....######

  • wow its really interesting

  • i like it

  • i like it , video is very interesting .

  • Interesting ... bacteria has a survival instinct. What is a single cell doing with what looks like awareness? Enlightening.

  • @ZacTheLegoManiac not a bacteria, bacteria are prokaryotes which means they have no membrane bound organelles, a protist (shown here) is a eukaryote which has membrane bound organelles like ours. not all unicellular organisms are bacteria.

  • cant break through cytoplasm

  • look at the pray struggling:D

  • I have never felt bad for a single celled organism, until I saw the prey struggle for life.

  • the cell saga

  • put plankton from spongebob in there

  • In my science class anAmoeba was eating a paramecium and it was weird....

  • why are they so funny!

  • @2t22tornadosiren you probalby alredy have one if you have a pond and if you don't there will be some somewhere in your house

  • How come the chilomonas didn't flee/notice the amoeba before it was engulfed?

  • @Mattyboyrocks23 its because chilomonas dont have brains nor eyes to see the amoeba engulfing it.

  • @Mattyboyrocks23 maybe because they dont have nerv system ?

  • POOR sturggling chilomonas

  • what is being eaten?

  • CAN SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO DOWNLOAD THIS VIDEO?

    it's my homework -.-

  • @TheMiheMihaela

use youtube video downloader or video download plugin for firefox

  • Ewwwwww

  • i have to watch this for mt home work -_-

  • @dallastxi3 me too!!!

  • @dallastxi3 me too ;)

  • TETSUOOOOOOOOO!!!!

  • my biology class today filmed amoeba eating a lot of paramecium

  • pwned

  • Comment removed

  • That's some major phagocytosis

  • Om nom nom nom

  • oh my god it's terrible D:

  • Do you think the chilomona sought Jesus when it knew it faced mortality?

  • are you using microscope?

  • hahaha the one on the botton is like sucker!!

  • chilomonas... R.I.P.

  • i want one as a pet

  • @2t22tornadosiren too bad it so small

  • @2t22tornadosiren I have one as a pet >:D

  • @2t22tornadosiren I actually HAVE

  • @2t22tornadosiren U prolly have a few and dont realize it

  • luckely that they are quite simple living organisms

imagen being digested in acid when being alive

  • @Nettcod haha if you swallow one it can cause severe diahrrea and that can lead to severe dehydration and you can die so..........................

  • would it be possible to see an amoeba with 40x magnification?

  • @Random136studios no it would take around 500x magnification for a clear view

  • @Scorpiosnehith k my teacher said its possible but u have to know what it is to tell.....

  • Beware of the blob, it creeps, and leaps, and slide and glides across the floor, right through the door, and all over the wall.

  • I would like to see egg eat sperm -__-

  • What was the little thing moving across the screen from 0:55 to 0:57?

  • Richard Dawkins said this would be a horrible way to die. Now I agree. lol.

  • Nerdgasm

  • This is beautiful.

  • the prey: what's funny is his 'friend' that saunters by @ around :40 then comes back, checks out the situation, then exits stage left. =)

  • @CYMRUTUBE2 Nice cheap shot at americans you faggot.

  • NOM NOM NOM!

  • the protist is like... what? OMG!! AHHHHHHH!!!! ahh screw it fml

  • SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!

sorry i felt it was appropriate

  • -shivers- this is kinda creepy up close and I can't help but feel bad for whatever it ate... it struggled at first... they have no emotions so I better calm down

  • I saw these in lab today. Quite an amazing experience :>

  • we're so lucky they aren't bigger...

  • phag!

  • I am an animal activist, but I have got to say, as a biology student, I know that the cells don't really have "feelings", even if they do look like they are trying to run away....

ok, now I just sound like the rest of the animal abusers, but it is true.

  • the blob... it lives...

  • Times were simpler back then.

  • NOM NOM NOM NOM

  • Imagine when you accidently swallow seawater and pondwater.......*shivers* D:

  • amoeba om nom nom nom

  • You guys are silly. The amoeba is hungry. Every time you brush your teeth you are killing millions and millions of unicellular organisms like the one whose death you just witnessed. I am sure there are about 100 billion clones of that now-dead protist wiggling around in whatever body of water that sample came from.

  • I never realised how awesome are microbes.

  • (Speaking of the amoeba) What a beautiful animal! It looks like diamonds scattered all over a puddle of mineral oil!

  • oh that bitch just totally got IMMUNE SYSTEMed.

  • Heavy is amoeba!!

  • its freaking out in the vacuole!!! 0:30 - 0:42

  • NOOOOO I FEEL SO BAD FOR IT.

  • what a monster

  • my microscope magnifies 100/1.25, is that enough to see bacteria?

  • My bio teacher is awesome. she has 2 flying squirrels.

  • NOMNOMNOM!♥ :'D

  • @BloodyParanoiaxx numnumnumnumn nomnomnomnom

  • magnification?

  • Neil Lu

  • oh wow thats so cool!

  • @IttyBittyBlizzard-my bio teacher's examples are pretty weird, too. for example, explaining hair cells, and their life: Keratin! Keratin! Keratin! (dead) and he also used the names tommy and shy-shy to explain endosymbiosis theory.

    @fabian31595-I Know!!!!

  • I was in biology recently and got to watch and Amoeba feed. Quite possibly the most exciting thing in the class all year. Wait, I take that back. The teacher's impression of a feeding Amoeba was hilarious.

  • these things are sooooo hard to find under a microscope

  • SLO-MOTION OM NOM NOM

  • Lol nerd humor!

  • ...well first I noticed this big blob thing around me, but I decided not to pay any attention to it until the digestion process kicked in. Then it hit me, shoot.

  • LOOK OUT THE BEAR-HUG OF DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ASSIMILATION O.O

  • ja lotta stimmt das ist mega langweilig

  • @katischmati katrin xD (hatten wir was auf?O.o) xD

  • boooorrrriiiiinnnnnggggggxDstimmts nora xD

  • boooorrrriiiiinnnnnggggggxD

  • das is soooo langweilig!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what is it eating?

  • wooooooow...

  • part of the crew part of the ship

  • awesome!!!! the little chilomonas got real panic :(

  • so they eat other little things and they get bigger ?

  • The grizzled heavyweight of evolution feasts

  • Omg so funny. The cell realised that it was trapped only after some time...

  • it amazing even at a smaller level how the small parts of the amoeba are communicating to feed on the beacteria

  • nature is so cruel

  • cool

  • wow the amoebea's all like "im gonna kill u" then he killed it.

  • The chilomonas began to panic at 0:34 and i guess it died at 0:49

  • I can see the pseupod take the chilomonas

  • TETSUOOOOO !!!!!

  • All i can say is.... NOM NOM NOM NOM NOM

  • that bitch got owned..

  • You will have much more views if you find one the shape of america that devours tons of other bacteria including one the shape of Iraq.

    z

Come on there are so many of them if different shapes you have to be able to find one and video it.

  • story was told jimmy put his hand under the microscope to see all these strange things 1minutes and 4 seconds later he used some germ-x and was known as a murderer XD

  • paramecium is cooler

  • this is some nerdy ass shit right here

  • One can only wonder the horror going through the protist at the bottom of the video, as he sat there, in disbelief, as his best friend Bob was being eaten alive by the amoeba.

  • the blob strikes

  • Where can you find theese?

  • @filmbaKerz

in ponds, dirty water and lakes

  • just get a cup of pond water, and use a microscope to look in

  • amoeba FTW

  • my teacher showed us this video today in class it took the class two times till they understood what was going on

  • 0:34 the protist finally realizes what's going on and freaks out, haha

  • question here.. sorry if its a stupid one but are amoeba and protists like cells? like i know they have similar organelles but i mean do they act as an individual cell that is not part of a organism like skin cells are part of a human but bacteria are not?

  • @alexc475 Amoeba and protists are true organisms in-and-of-themselves.

  • @alexc475

they are single cells with organelles. Even skin cells have organelles, I think.

  • Damn convenient! Being able to put your hungry belly wherever the food is. Why did we ever evolve past it?

  • ohhhh, he's leakin

  • That's awesome , what do they feed on?

  • i love how it squirms at the end

  • at 0:34 "OH NOOOO GETOUTGETOUTGETOUT" lol still this video is awesome :DD

  • xD took long enough for mr foodie to realise xD

  • @teperc9702

Haha im stoned and that comment made me laugh for like 30 seconds. i have only just recovered

  • lol i is call this girl at my shcool amoeba........................jus imagine big she is lmao.hahahaha so shapeless. i even made up a rap about her. comment if u want me to put it up on youtube! ;)

  • @badgyalgoldi

Amoeba fat chick rap! O h yeeeaah :P

  • @Ilamarea kml ikr

  • @Ilamarea kml ikr

  • phagocytosys is action LOL

  • the amoeba is all like "imma eat you" lol

  • fuck, amoebas turn me on

  • lol amoebas are so awnage =D

Im planning to make a fight with amoebas against hundreds of simple single celled organisms =D

  • the celluloid is so poor. when it stops moving i can imagine a high pitched sound piiiiiiiiiiyyyyyy. resembling death on a scanner

  • I am proud to say that I've had these little guys in my body. Luckily doctors managed to get rid of them with a toxic nuclear bomb on my system before they entered my liver.

PS: Don't go to Western Africa.

  • oh my god this is . . . i never seen pseudopodium live before.

  • amoebas are my new fave thing they are souu cool!

  • Om nom nom!!! Lol Cool vid

  • Awesome!

    Love this kind of organisms

  • Comment removed

  • I didn't know such simple organisms were capable of great emotion.

    Look at how it struggles...

  • You could build a robot to struggle, too, you know.

  • hence it's simplicity

  • struggle is probably just a simple chemical reaction to being put in a capsule full of 'acid'. the protiens denature causing shape change and therefore movement.
