  • i play piano

but i hope i could play guitar too

Traumerei is 1 of my favorite song

  • awesome !!

  • Thanks a lot Jose.

  • I wish I had bought a classical; picking on a steel string just doesn't sound right. Great job.

  • Classical guitar sounds nice on classical pieces.

Do not be dissuaded. Acoustic sounds just as nice on acoustic pieces.

Tommy Emmanuel has a lot to teach us all.

    Cheers,

    Paul

  • Ooooohh man!!! You're realy good!!!

  • I've always loved this piece, my sister had a jewellery box that played it when I was a kid. Lovely arrangement, beautifully played.

  • Cheers David. Nice memories.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • great!!! just great!!!

  • Cheers Chopin.

  • Hiya!

Sounds good! Always loved this piece.

Not sure about the higher tuning, though. Do you need special strings for that, by the way?

    Happy holidays!

    Jo x

  • cHEERS jOjO. ooPS cAPS LOCK ON.

    Aha... that's better.

Tuning up like this will not be good for Otto.

A capo won't work either. What you need, is a cheap guitar off E-bay!

All the best for the New Year to you, Otto and your family.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Linda Musica y buenisima transcripcion.

  • Cheers Rigo.

  • very nice!

  • Thanks Niko.

  • Well done Paul,sublime.

    Regards,

    Tim

  • Thanks a lot Tim for your continued support of my amateurishness!!

    All the best sir,

    Paul

  • Not that familiar with this song, none the less, Nicely Done! I liked the higher "registers".

    --Van

P.S. Kind of sounds "Americana"--I figure, we "STOLE" (Schumann).

    --Van

  • Cheers Van.

Watch Horowitz playing it in related vids. If you don't shed a tear, you are a MEAN man!!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • great job my friend! Happy Holidays

  • A beautiful arrangement, Paul.

  • Thank you Raul...if only it were mine!!

    Best Regards,

    Paul

  • wonderful..soothing.

  • Cheers Gearge.

  • Marvelous duet. I have never dreamed of playing traumerei in guitar duet. Sounds quite natural and peaceful. Very very nice.

Next, rain drop, please. Best regards, lurte323.

  • Cheers Lute.

I will try and find an arrangement of Raindrop within my reach...but I may need somebody to play the other guitar!

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

I love this piece and you play it so sweet!! A lovely and gentle performance!!! Merry Christmas!

    Hug Sarah :-)

  • Thank you Sarah.

    Hugz,

    Paul

  • Nice piece & very nice played!

    Peter

  • Cheers Peter.

    Hope you're well.

    Paul

  • Paul, this is amazing! So close to the original, well done indeed. I HAVE to play this one day!

I liked your phrasing a lot, it seems so simple but I always struggled on the piano to get it right. Then I listened to Horowitz and Youri Egorov and realised: I'll never get there!

    Thanks for sharing, 5*****

    Happy Holidays and bless,

    Jasper

  • Ssshh...don't tell anyone...but I had Horowitz in the earphones for tempo and phrasing when recording this!!

    Happy holidays sir.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Well, true confessions! But I must admit, I also play and simultaneously listen to recordings when honing the phrasing and tempo of pieces I'm working on. I'm wondering if you can hear your own guitar sufficiently with the headphones on. I find I have to hear both recording and self at just the right levels to do this properly. Anyway, very beautiful play! -Paul

  • Cheers Paul. It is the only way for me. I have no tuition, as you know. If this was a millionth of Horowitz, I should be very pleased indeed!

    All the best,

    Paul

  • Well you do have an exceptional ear, since, as I mentioned before, I have listened to my LP's of Horowitz playing Schumann repeatedly in the past, and your recording, whether solo or duet precisely captures Howrowitz. BTW. I helped a friend of mine, "johnspiano", put some of his compositions up on YT. John was on of the few people who had the opportunity to study with Horowitz towards the end of his career.

    Again, Super, super work, Paul.

  • Cheers again Neil.

I will have a look at johnspiano when I finish up here.

    Thanks for the intro.

    Paul

  • nice job!

  • Cheers Chonch.

  • Hi,

I always liked this sweet piece. You do a very nice job here.

    Cheers,

    Anders

  • Thanks a lot Anders.

    Keep well sir.

    Paul

  • Back watching in High Quality... Very nice! Congrats!

  • Yer, but still a bugly astard!! HQ could never cure that!!

    PKP

  • ..that is, whose transcription?

  • That's VERY impressive, Paul. I would not have expected the piece to sound like that on guitar,

having enjoyed listening to Vladimir Horowitz

play it many, many times, but your performance surprises me. Whose arrangement is this?

    Neil

  • Cheers Neil. It is arranged by Richard Lenz of Guitar Lenz duo (never heard of them). I found it on the net.

As you have already read, I had Horowitz (from the YT Moscow Concert vid) in the headphones whilst recording G2. I then recorded G1 listening to G2 in the phones. I am really chuffed you think it has worked well.

    Regards,

    Paul

  • That's very sweet! Cute version, PKP!

  • Thank you JJ.

Bart tarm wid a newun from thah end t'globe!

    PKP

  • I told you I'm working on it...
