Paul, this is amazing! So close to the original, well done indeed. I HAVE to play this one day!
I liked your phrasing a lot, it seems so simple but I always struggled on the piano to get it right. Then I listened to Horowitz and Youri Egorov and realised: I'll never get there!
Well, true confessions! But I must admit, I also play and simultaneously listen to recordings when honing the phrasing and tempo of pieces I'm working on. I'm wondering if you can hear your own guitar sufficiently with the headphones on. I find I have to hear both recording and self at just the right levels to do this properly. Anyway, very beautiful play! -Paul
Well you do have an exceptional ear, since, as I mentioned before, I have listened to my LP's of Horowitz playing Schumann repeatedly in the past, and your recording, whether solo or duet precisely captures Howrowitz. BTW. I helped a friend of mine, "johnspiano", put some of his compositions up on YT. John was on of the few people who had the opportunity to study with Horowitz towards the end of his career.
Cheers Neil. It is arranged by Richard Lenz of Guitar Lenz duo (never heard of them). I found it on the net.
As you have already read, I had Horowitz (from the YT Moscow Concert vid) in the headphones whilst recording G2. I then recorded G1 listening to G2 in the phones. I am really chuffed you think it has worked well.
i play piano

I wish I had bought a classical; picking on a steel string just doesn't sound right. Great job.

Classical guitar sounds nice on classical pieces.
Do not be dissuaded. Acoustic sounds just as nice on acoustic pieces.
Tommy Emmanuel has a lot to teach us all.

Hiya!
Sounds good! Always loved this piece.
Not sure about the higher tuning, though. Do you need special strings for that, by the way?
Happy holidays!

cHEERS jOjO. ooPS cAPS LOCK ON.
Aha... that's better.
Tuning up like this will not be good for Otto.
A capo won't work either. What you need, is a cheap guitar off E-bay!
All the best for the New Year to you, Otto and your family.

Paul

Not that familiar with this song, none the less, Nicely Done! I liked the higher "registers".

P.S. Kind of sounds "Americana"--I figure, we "STOLE" (Schumann).

Marvelous duet. I have never dreamed of playing traumerei in guitar duet. Sounds quite natural and peaceful. Very very nice.

That's VERY impressive, Paul. I would not have expected the piece to sound like that on guitar,
having enjoyed listening to Vladimir Horowitz
play it many, many times, but your performance surprises me. Whose arrangement is this?
