Yes, Safari, youtube, maps, stocks, wheather etc. and the official App Store from Apple where you can buy apps or download free apps comes with every ipod touch. The jailbreaking was a method to get apps on to the ipod touch before it was officially supported by apple.

Maybe. But I never heard of anyone who destroyed his/her iPod. So it is unlikely that you will destroy your iPod. I already hacked a few iPods/iPhones.

Well the only thing I have seen that could happen is that you see a black screen with white letters which don't disappear. (the white letters are completely normal while jailbreaking but after a minute or so they should go away) If that happens to you you should read a few comments earlier there I posted the steps to restore it.

I haven't heard of anyone that it has happened to him. Everyone was able to restore the ipod if it did not respond. But if you have really bad luck it might happen.

Well, if it is new then the jailbreak should not be the first thing you have to do. Wait one or two weeks, check our the official app store (where you can find also many apps which are availabe with the jailbreak) and if you still have the feeling that you want to jailbreak it then do it.

Search on google for "pwnage tools 2.0". With that software you can jailbreak and unlock your iphone 2.0 firmware.

If you want to remove the jailbreak you have to restore your iphone which deletes all your data including contacts etc.

No actually all data will remain on your ipod touch. But please dont blame me if something goes wrong and you have to restore it. That happend to some people. I dont know why. But you can't lose your itouch. There is always a way out if it freezes or something like that.

It doesn't matter which version you have. But if you want to know it anyway: Go to preferences->General->Info Here you find the version. But all new ipod touchs are shipped with 1.1.3. And you can easily update in itunes to 1.1.4 for free.

Ok, but you can still use your itouch? If so, have you done anything while jailbreaking? It is important, that you ignore alle messages from itunes and so on.

If not, try this (but you will lose all your data on the itouch): unplug the itouch. Press and hold the home button and plug it in again. Now you can restore your itouch completely in itunes. After that you should try the jailbreak again. It should work. write me whether or not it worked. I'll help you until it works;-)

Yeah, thats why you have to unplug it, press and hold the home button, plug it in and still hold the home button until itunes recognizes the itouch. On the screen of the itouch you should see the itunes logo and the ipod connector.

When you are on the homepage (link is on the sidebar) you just have to scroll down a bit and you'll find a link which says "Click here to Download ZiPhone (Main)". After clicking on the link you just have to decide whether you are using Windows or MacOS. Then just click on the respective banner and the download should start.

hey, just so yall know.. 1.1.4 jailbroken sucks.  .1-.3 is the best, .3 is a little better than .1 because u can have wiggle icons and a few other apps. but on .3 anything that is bought dusnt work, so i would recomend staying with .1

1.1.4 is just the latest version with most features and all bugfixes. I haven't heard of any issues with 1.1.4 ever.

Yeah, that should work (as you can see in the title "up to 1.1.4";-)) It doesn' matter if you already have maps, mail, etc. You just don't have to download them becuause you have them even legally. So the installer will work for you.

Well to make it work you could reset your iPhone (you can do that in iTunes) and start over again. Maybe there was a conflict with the previous jailbreak. So I am really sorry that it did not work for you. I did it with about ten iphones/ipod touch and it always worked. I am sure a full reset should do it.

Why 1.1.1? You don't need 1.1.1. anymore. It also works with all firmware versions up to 1.1.4...
