Well, the story was written in the Epic of Gilgamesh, which was a fictional story coming out of Babylon. Somehow it made it into the bible as being truth. Now, was it based on some sort of truth? Probably so. There was massive flooding after the ice age came to an end. It is very likely that the fictional story was based on this event.
Very well said. There was some points in there I could've used. Also, that's a cool mural behind you...wish I could see the rest of it. Did you make it?
but seriously it's hard to belive anyone could belive this story literally.
i think Kent Hovind said that it never rained before the flood and that's why no one ever saw a rainbow before Noah.
the funniest thing is that these people refuse to accept evolution. but they have no problem beliving in super-evolution. that all the human races appeared from one family in only a few thousand years and all animal species evolved out of a few "kinds" that were on the ark
Another thing would be; A flood sooooo big it can rip out the Grand Canyon in 5 minutes, yet layer down soft tissue in a precise manner to fossilize. Within 6,000 years of course. 'cause rocks and minerals and stuff, grow way fast.
and if you point out that the light from distant stars must have traveled for millions or billions of years, creationists say that "light must have traveled faster in the past" or that "god created the light midway in space" or all kinds of excuses like that.
some will say that "each day in the bible is an era" to which i reply "than how did the plantlife survive for an entire era before there was a sun?" since the sun was created after plants.
noah and the world flood is a retelling of a Sumerian myth. Sumeria had a huge flood plain so it is possible for a flood to cover their world not the planet bu they considered the world. The polynesians did carry all the animals and plants to populate a new island on catamarans. so while the story of noah is complete crap some elements maybe true.

I'm glad you enjoyed :)
Actually that is pretty much the entire picture in the background, my bass player did that with spray paint.

here's another logical problem with this story:
it says that god created the rainbow after the flood.
does that mean that the laws of physics were different before the flood (light didn't break into colors)?

Actually it was just a matter of bad timing. Yaweh just so happened to schedule the flood during the first angelic gay rights parade.

hahaha. good one.

Exactly. It's incestuously ridiculous.

it's fun to poke holes in their legend
