"Book of the Dead" is just that - DEAD BORING!!! Where "book of the week" and "latest best-seller" comes from is anyone's guess...must be just hollywood hype.
You need to focus on the crime & forensics...not the silly interpersonal interactions of nonentity borderline characters. Also, (not being a homophobe by a country mile) your lesbian and anti male undertones (overtones???) are so in your face in this book as to be uncomfortable...

Wow. I actually enjoyed BOTD, though it was my first PC book. I do understand some of the character were like unnecessary at times but I enjoyed the plot and the twists and turns, remember it was mi first PC Book, then I bought Scarpetta and I enjoyed it, but Im not gone say much about Scarpetta cause I dont kno if you have read it or completed it yet. I dont see the lesbian and anti male undertones completely in the face.... they are there for sure, but I dont think she crossed a boundary.

Hmmm.
Someone just told me that i reminded them of her, and truth be told i never heard of her.
I did work on Death Penalty cases both as an investigator and Legal Aide, sat second chair at trial, and have visited death row many times.
Perhaps i should consider writing a book.

what an extraordinary woman..ive read all of Scarpetta novels...Nice to have strong female leads who kick butt...Disappointed in Book of the Dead however

Book of the dead disappointed me as well... I liked it, but I am very partial to Marino, so her last book, Scarpetta, really redeemed it for me!
