This is really easy, you just need to find a scalpel (thin sharp knife) and mark exactly the middle of your lens. Then you cut out the lower half (DO NOT TAKE OUT THE UPPER HALF!!!!) and hold that cut out half on top of a mirror. Then cut out the mirror in the exact same shape. When you place it back, make sure to place the reflecting side facing the camera itself. This means when you look at the new lens, you do not see your own reflection (otherwise the effect fails). Enjoy!!

I don't know much about AfterEffects, but it seems like the creator uses a "mirror" to place under the bottom-half of the video to make it look reflective. Whether this is easier/harder to do is something I have no information about.
