this is great because its simple and from the guys soul he means what he says and only says what he means...its been a long time since i heard truth and i went to church a couple sundays ago nothing as true as this was preached at all.
I've just watched this with a nice blunt in my mouth I love this sort of stuff kids out there blaze up grab a guitar and become history ....? I would be proud to call him my grandad ... Watt a man ... Ps not that it matters but am white ...! Music brings people together .. Piece
I first found out about this guy yesterday and today he's one of my favorite bluesmen. The rhythm, playing and feeling in this is amazing. The crickets make it perfect.
Although 2 of Beltons strings are out of tune, here is the tuning for this song for those who want to play it. Do this man justice and keep his music alive....spread this video.
Holy shit, this is like having watched black and white TV your whole life and then finding out about color TV. This just blows me away. Thank god for the Alan Lomax Archive.
im as pale as the full moon and hillbilly as they come and i dont see how or why these people allowed elvis to run around with his fake ass guitar calling himself the king
@THEBIGKOSTRINSKY , its a kay, the headstock logo can clearly be seen in the clyde maxwell video on this channel,(hes playing this very same guitar) as for the 3 dots on the 9th fret, ive noticed that the kay guitars ive seen had double dots at the 9th and 15th frets, and the dots were very close to the edge of the fret board, just like on this guitar, possibly someone has just added an extra dot in the middle, maybe even just painted it on, anyway is definitely a KAY,
You gotta dig for real stuff like this....all I hear from people my age when I mention blues is "Robert Johnson,Leadbelly,Robert Johnson,Leadbelly"....because they dont know anybody else....thats why we need to keep these guys alive when people say blues we say...."Belton Sutherland, Boyd Williams, Billy Bizor, Robert Pete Williams".....dont let Clapton and Nirvanna show you the bluesmen of years gone by...dig for it and share it...

The thing I like about these old blues guys is that most of them have their own style of guitar picking. They learned on their own and each of them plays their own unique way. Awesome music.
@seymourbbest true that. i usually use my 1rst , 2nd and 3d finger on the three higher strings and my thumb on the low three. i'm learning to play this right now, and it's difficult because he's occupying his first finger and thumb with that drone when he does break lick. i guess this is meaningless to you, mainly just saying for example. your most certainty right! haha
Thats a bad muthaf, wow, replicate that.
