I think the key to enjoying Moffat and Smith's Doctor Who will be to not expect it to surpass The last 5 Years. ats least not straight away. It would b kinda unfair 2 expect thier 1st series finale to b bigger than the Endo f Time or even Journey's End. Let them start small again with a fresh start and build up once more (although Doomsday was bigger than The Parting of the Ways but ho-hum)

@227060 RTD's scripts have been dire, especially Journey's End and The End of Time was so lacking in plot it was untrue - in both cases they just threw a mish-mash of nonsense together. Moffat is going to blow every Who fan's mind - just look at Blink, The Empty Child, Girl in the Fireplace and Silence in the Library.

If the Doctor says multiverses exist, Davros' plan was to end every Universe, then in at least ONE universe, Davros' plan would have succeeded, and the universe that we were watching would have ended! Jesus fucking christ... :|

Meanwhile the Big Bang 2 story was EPIC, the best Doctor Who finale in a long while, best of the 2005+ series by far. So glad RTD is gone.

I'm keeping an open mind, but I have high hopes for the lad (which he is still). I hope the Moffat/Smith pairing on the show will be successful, though it has a tremndous bar to reach against the Davis/Tennant pair. It really is the end of an era though and I think eeveryone will remember it in the shows history.

Each and every time I see a different picture of Matt Smith in costume as the Doctor, I begin to like him a bit more, right at the start when he was announced I was doing the cliched "David's still the best" but as time's gone on I appreciate Matt more. I think David IMO will always be the best Doctor, but Matt will be brilliant =)

We need to give Matt a chance. i remember when David took over from Christopher and was a little taken aback by him. Now, its hard to imagine doctor who without him. But forget imagining, in 2010 we will be living it. only after his tenure is over can we rate Matt honestly. Don't turn him into another Peter Davison...a talented actor who got a raw deal by following in the big shoes (or should I say scarf) of the legend Tom Baker.

Have you watched Sally Lockhart Mysteries? If you haven't..you should...because he is Jim Taylor in the movie. It's based on a Philip Pullman triology...Ruby in the Smoke, Shadow in the North and Tiger in the Well. I wasn't all for Matt Smith..but then I watched him as Jim and BAM..I know he will do a good job.

Haha love the 1:58 glitch. Anyway, I think Matt Smith has the potential to be a good Doctor. I admit I've not seen anything else with him in, but still I'm not going to not give him a chance. When I first heard Eccleston was leaving I didn't know if Tennant would be up to it, but he surprised me and I'm hoping Smith will do the same. No pressure on him or anything, but he has definitely got ALOT to live up to.

Also please remember Steven Moffat is one of the best writers in TV. His Doctor Who episodes have been as good or even better than Russell T Davies' ones.

With this in mind, i trust Steven Moffat on his choice of Doctor, he wouldn't put someone in the role if he didn't think they could do a good job and please remember Matt Smith is a great actor.
