even tho this video is old, it is still happening. the orphanages are in terrible condition, however, some state orphanages are trying to improve. i am hoping to move to china to teach the local people how to look after these orphans and show them that every child is worth it!
I know china has overpopulation but I seriously think they should have a 2 child policy so girls get the chance to live to!! If they countinue with this 1 child policy in the future there are going to be hardly any women left just men!! Why is it always women treated like 2nd class never men!!! i think it is ultimately the parents fault, for givng their baby away.. the fear is that women would have outnumbered the men if the females hadnt been culled.. women should stand up for themselves a bit better n stop being doormats

CCAA in China is doing the best they can to find loving homes for these children. They are not perfect, but they do try.

If you're already treated as a second-class citizen, you're dirt poor, you married incredibly young, you have no education (like many rural Chinese girls), you're alone, and you're desperate to be accepted by your husband's family...you're capable of doing a lot of things most people would find cruel or unbelievable.
@2241322 first this is a general issue as even rich are effected due to China's one child policy they mainly want boys. And second it is the government run orphanages that are killing off these girls in this way so how much money you have is irrelevant since it is a country wide problem not a poor or a rich problem!

In a way China is paying now for these traditional Son-favored values, as it's been reported that there are now too few women in the country compared to available men. That is your population control.

Thank you for sharing these videos. I'm minoring in political science and we had a class lecture on the one child policy. I thought it strange that the lecture seemed very one-sided. I did some research on my own and stumbled across this video. After I watched this I realized that my proffesor was keeping these upsetting details of the policy out of the lectures. I was very upset and brought it up in class the next week. I was simply told that these conditions are lies. I dropped the class.
