There used to be a bar in my home town named the "Georgia Moon" outside decorated w Spanish moss...often wondered if they ever visited it...it was kinda like the place in the song...Love this band and this song moves even the dullest listener....Thank you.
Ry Cooder played the guitar on their first album, not bass. Lowell had hurt his hand somehow. Listen to Willin', it's Ry playing the slide guitar. Roy Estrada (former F Zappa mothers') played the bass on the two first albums.
Waiting for Columbus is my favourite album all time.
@vradul thing is, esp on Full Moons, this song will play in my head over and over too ;) and like the magnetic power of the moon, im compelled to hear them play :-)
My dad used to listen to Little Feat a lot and he took me to the fair where they played live when I was about 11 or 12 years old (12 years ago). I did not know the jewel I witnessed until I saw Phish live over halloween this year and they covered this album. Pure genius I say, by both artists. To anyone who loves Little Feat, Phish's live cover of a live album is quite elegant in that it respect all the elements Little Feat put together in their sections. Phish loved these guys.
This is the shit. I can't even listen to the crap they're playing now...it's just not the same. This band touring now... to me they're just a LF tribute band. LF died years ago. I hate the technology of today's music. The music isn't REAL anymore. It's so artificial.
Man-o-man.... I WORE OUT every copy of LF's albums that I've ever had, while promoting the band to anyone and everyone who'd listen to me and them. Lowell G. was one bad MF with a slide and may he rest in Rock and Roll peace.
don't blame digital for this one, sounds like tape phase from a two track analog tape being folded to mono... obviously a live board mix on two track cassette, prolly.
too be respected

we saw LF in Champaign and Chicago in the 70's, a good time was had by all. Fantastic music, it was over way too soon.

Lowell G. showed us all how to play slide. Slide on!
ron7co 2 years ago 3
And Bonnie Rait taught Lowell how to play slide during a period of time when he was tapping that ass.

@ronniefisk
Actually, Lowell taught Bonnie how to play slide, not the other way 'round.
