I'm no musician! It was done on a 1987 Casio keyboard, which had a built-in sampling function. I was able to sample my voice and various noises to make the music, which the keyboard could memorize for about 300 notes. Two mono tracks were recorded that way onto 1/4" tape, then mixed with pan-pots into stereo - although the first version, on the film's stripe, was only in mono. I might make a CD just of the music, but don't reckon it'll get a Grammy award.
You'll be glad to hear that Urban Visions and my other films are lodged with Screen Archive South East, and so are available to use as stock footage. Urban Visions was shown at a few festivals back then, but I could never afford to make many copies of my stuff. Maybe I should arrange more screenings in future as I have a film called Bright Green in post-production, which shows the mid-1990s. Less-retro, but still different from now!
Hopefully they won't put a Worthing Bypass straight through Lancing and Cissbury Rings, just west of Lancing College - although the urban route would knock down houses and not be much better.
Thanks, Kipling666! Some years after I made this film, I was involved with a walk called SCRAMM - South Coast Ramble Against Megaroad Madness. It passed right by the A27 flyovers, as a protest against building more roads nearby.

Excellent! I know the A27 bridge well, as I used to live within a mile of it.

That's really mesmerising. Time travel. Thanks for posting.

Thanks. The time-lapse filming has that effect anyway, even more so when towns and cities begin to change over the years.
