It's gotta be the shock mount...it's that stretchy elastic string between the mic and the stand. That's what it's for...to keep bumps and such from transferring into the mic and recorded. I was kinda wondering the same thing. Wish I could tell you more..but rest assured ..this is me singing one take all the way through.
