  • i enjoy unusual entertainment

  • I've seen this many times, a great film. I am tempted to buy this, saw it on Amazon yesterday

  • @Jimkellyfro Its here that Attenborough matches Miss Stanley in a performance that so

    good its scary...Forbe's masterpiece

  • What terrible music!. A clear case of trying to hard to create an atmosphere. I apreciate less can be more and the same for the acting.

  • @marmite400 Insightful review!

  • scares me also looking at kims eyes that scares me aswell because she has that evil look about her in this film

  • @CharmingSage- You're not wrong there. But in Julie Andrews for Mary Poppins, and the over-the-top publicity, Kim was always gonna find it tough for that Oscar.

  • watching these old bw films is what started me smoking!

  • Seance is a gripping, beautifully plotted and executed. Kim Stanley is one of the greatest American film actresses on the silver screen.

  • Another excellent film Bryan Forbes directed was the original 1975 version of 'The Stepford Wives'.

  • Thank you so much for putting this up here!! What a remarkable film from one of the cleverest and most talented teams ever in the history of cinema, Forbes and Attenborough. And this is a masterclass of acting and direction. Fabulous score too...

  • Excellent fim, and the book is very good, too.

  • If it wasn't for YouTube, i'd of never been able to see great film trailers like this. 5 star!

  • creepy movie !

and check out it's another version from Japan : Ko-Rei , it's creepy too and directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa .

    :)

  • Get a load of Mark Eden in this! He's SO handsome - it's enough to make you faint...

  • I'd like to see how Stephen Schwartz will do when his opera version of this opens.

  • An excellent film well acted and with a strong story line well worth watching!

  • extremely creepy movie

  • Came home early from work and the afternoon movie came on Film 4. So I sat down and gave it a chance. Seance was very good and creepy as hell.

Kim Stanley is perfectly cast in this sinister as hell. Attenborugh's understated acting was sublime.

  • My god, Kim Stanley is tremendous in this film!

  • @aidenk She is awesome in everything! So under-rated!

  • Kim Stanley received the 1964 New York Best Actress Award and an Oscar nomination (losing to Julie "Mary Poppins" Andrews). She didn't make another film for 18 years until "Frances" (1982) opposite Jessica Lange. Kim got a supporting Oscar nomination for that film.

  • "She didn't make another film for 18 years until "Frances""

    "The Three Sisters" says hi.

  • Gonna rent it I think.

  • This is film is neither grindhouse nor exploitation.

Thriller or detective story would be closer to the mark.

    An amazing film.

  • This film turns up on late night tv in Australia about once a year. It was on the other night, great little film this one.
