  • I would like to see some ferrofluid (magnetic fluid) on that :D

  • I just got mine 3,5 hours ago and cant get it to work =_________= Its so very very hard to spin it that i managed to spin it like 30 times but only for like 5 seconds.. then you have to adjust weight and orientation of the platform :/ I bought a levitron starter now, have to ship it from the US to Europe and i just hope it works. You need to be able to take a looot of frustration for this

  • @DugabE There is definitely a learning curve. That said, if you can get it to spin for a few seconds, then you are very close.

Notice how I let the clear plastic piece "bump" the top as it rises up. This is important since it removes some of the oscillation there would normally be, and which can destabilize it.

Other than that, make sure you are adjusting with the smallest weights. To get a long run you have to get it as close as possible.

  • @spcutler

Yea i saw that ^^ As soon as I have a spinner, I will hopefully be able to spin it more often, so I can adjust the weight and orientaten a bit more - then I will try to use this trick to get it a softer start. Thanks for the support, I will post how well the electric spinner will be doing :)

  • This is how ufo work:)

  • I have one. Takes patience to do this.

  • I got one but I can't find the right weight for the top! I mean how manny washers and what sized do you put on

  • Put a bar magnet in there and see if the top stays up!

  • just got mine... but what weight setup do u recommend

  • how is this.. is it something about magnetic field???

  • @shanumoinu Yes, it all has to do with a magnetic field.

  • Its Devil's work 666. Black Magic

  • where can i buy one?

  • I want it !!!!!!

  • COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • holy sh*t! idea for new space ship?lol

  • This is probably not possible but what if we made a device that has a similar shape to the top which has a strong electromagnet underneath and the inside wouldn't spin like a gyroscope. It would use the earth's magnetic field to repel itself. Maybe

when it would go to a different side of the earth( north pole south pole) the electromagnet could switch polarities.

  • how long do these things spin for/last in the air for?

  • @adonist7 about 2 years....oops, I mean 2 minutes :P

  • Im glad this is not some kind of lame ass wich craft spel :D

  • i"m going to order one now XD yay

  • how do you do that?

  • How'd you get it to stay floating so long?

  • done with magnets i supose?

  • Comment removed

  • does it need batteries?

  • @TheImmortalBlood nope i

  • it last 3 mins in the air!!!!!!!!! thats the longest iv seen

  • haha nice toy

  • A13xX256 you should get cherry wood

  • I want one :D

  • i cant get it to go over 5 seconds.

  • it's not anti graivity

  • it's uses magnetism as a force "against gravity".

    anti (adjective)

    opposed to; against

    ...

  • in a non technical sense sure.. but technically no it's not

  • not only that it's also use the theory of gyroscope

  • i cant get the weight right and do you need the plastic plate on top of the lifter plate?

  • also spin it, it will give it stability

  • OMEGA ALL THE WAY! WOOT!

  • how should i put the weights i have a super levitron and it just wont work

  • The trick to the weights is gradual adjustment. Learn how to add or subtract 0.1 grams at a time, which is the minimum amount. Once you learn that, it's pretty simple--just add weight if the top flies up and to the side, or subtract weight if it falls back to the base.

One thing to note is that you'll probably have to adjust the weights each time you use it. A small temperature difference can change the necessary weight by a few tenths of a gram.

  • You have to add weight? I'm thinking of buying one and I'm interested in learning more about it before I do.

  • The device comes with all the weights you need to get it running. They are small disks that you place on top of the spinner. They come in different sizes, from 3 down to 0.1 grams. It's not hard to find the right combination of weights as long as you're somewhat diligent about it.

  • what is the kit name? is it really called levitron?

  • @Spore0011 yes it is

  • Should i get the cherrywood or the omega? :(

  • cherrywood

  • superstisious cherry wood!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @Al3xX256 chery wood

  • so because there's no surface friction and because it rotates, it balances itself over the magnetic field.

    nice

  • i got one today!

  • cool im buying one

  • Excellent, great to see it go till the end !
