It is likely better health care in the Americas allow much earlier detection of gigantism and hence fewer ridiculously tall people. The same can't be said for 3rd world countries like China. This list isn't very accurate and the author could have put some other legit 8 footers (Stadnik doesn't count because he is definitely under 8 feet tall) besides Wadlow like Gabriel Monjane (8-1), Don Koehler (8-2), Vaino (bw 8-1 and 8-3), Bernard Coyne (8-1), and maybe the most recent addition to the elite 8 foot status (Sultan Kosen).
