i just did a little research on this car. jay said 3mpg before turbos and 6mpg after turbos. banks soent 1500 man hours developing the turbo/fuel injection system. the fuel injection system is modified from a formula one system. car produced just under 100 hp before turbos and 1500 hp after. jay said it must have over 2000 foot pounds of tourgue because he can spin tires through three gears. car has been 140mph but jay said he wont go more because it starts to wander around a bit

How on earth do you get out of that thing without burning yourself in a very "sensitive" spot?? Those exhaust pipe shields look hardly adequate.

I will say, though, despite all the comments on how useless it seems, I bet it'd make a heck of a run at Bonneville! Looks almost like it was designed for it.

A tank engine is designed to do a good job of driving an extremely heavy vehicle slowly: low revs and huge amounts of torque. Why would it make a good engine for a car to go fast? Call me old fashioned here but a good car is one built around a suitable engine with performance characteristics appropriate for the task, and for a sporty car that would be an engine that gives high power over a wide rev range, especially at high revs, adding only as much weight and bulk as strictly necessary.
