  • It's amazing it's not fried up by the sun by now.

  • dead planet.

  • then there is water on the planet

  • The more questions we answer. the more questions remain un answered. The solar system is a very strange place. It doesn't follow the "RULES"

  • can this be seen from Earth?

  • not really. Sun's light is too bright in comparison

  • Cool, the sky on Mercury looks like fire?

But it's too hot on one side and too cold on the night side, nobody's going to that barren little ball of dirt.

  • It would be nice to see though.

  • @madalenamabelle39 Why does the internet need to decide what color underwear you should wear? O.o

  • Shouldn't Venus have a magnetic field too?

  • @Skaarjguy It was expected to, but it doesn't. No one knows why.

  • @lytrigian Woah, that's seriously weird. Venus SHOULD have a molten core, else there wouldn't be any eruptions with lava flows. Weird.

So Mercury's field was unexpected, but exists, and Venus's field was expected, but doesn't exist. Huh, a planetary role reversal...

  • All they can figure is that Venus' convection flow was halted for some reason, so that it might still have a molten core but no dynamo.

  • @lytrigian Ah I see.

  • I think Venus does have molten core, i think I heard that it just doesn't have a magnetosphere because it rotates so slowly.

  • @TaTiska That actually makes sense.

  • I doubt planet tourism will ever occur (in this solar system anyway). I do believe they'll be virtual tourism, which will be probably better than real tourism.

  • That girl on the beach was totally reading Fight Club.

  • Man, planet tourism, this video really makes me wish I could visit the future and be able to see all those amazing auras out the window. Hmm...if I live to 100 that'll be 80 years from now.. Eh, I don't know, who knows how technology will be by then...

  • If the fundy fucktards have their way, our technology will be absolutely medieval. XD

  • Perhaps! Especially after the 2012 apocalypse right!? Hahaha. If we have to be medieval maybe they'll bring back castles and we'll all ride horses into the sunset. :P It could go either way really.

  • I wonder if they'd keep some machinery, so we can use hydraulic cranes to lift our New Improved 2,000# knights on to their specially bred horses? XD

  • My chances are worse than yours. :(

  • That would be so awesome

  • I wouldn't mind living in mercury, I'll just need a bit more sunscreen

  • I always thought every planet had a magnetic field

  • only planets with a burning internal core have a magnetic field for example Earth

  • Why do they expect it to be "frozen all the way through"(0.27) if it is 840 degrees (2:46)

???? Am I the only one who noticed this???

  • no ur not the only one

  • That's just the surface temperature on the sunward side. By now the core of the planet should have radiated away all of its heat.

  • nah man, hteir talking about its core. like our earth, our iron core is solid, but around it is molten iron "liquid". its not common to see molton iron anyways cuz it oxidizes outside like a new hammer

  • solid aka is frozen.

  • @jasonbitch73 - I thought that was odd too, being that close to the sun and all.

  • no. that was the first thing i notised. i dont know of to much ice hanging around in 840 degrees

  • WOW! Simply amazing.

  • its not really about the light show its more about mercury's extreme temperatures.

So Mercury's Light Show is kind of an unfitting name.

  • the first 3min were really good.. and the rest was as if they are gonna spend the next summer there!!

  • Whats next? Jupiter's sexy models?

  • wow! thats hot. i dont think anything could live there

  • That's way too hot, i don't how any human could survive in that.

  • @illuminatijews You would be very crisp if you could!

  • LOL @ 2:22

    is it really that funny?

    either way, interesting video

  • its funny to me how hes laughing about it. he just sounds creepy. haha

  • lmao. dick!

  • @divineclown hahaha xP

  • i want to get high and see the light show

  • whats good about that? to experience something so amazing only to forget it? i would just watch it sober, then go home and trip out to somethin else.

  • I bet there are aliens on mercury. Watch me be right.

  • When I grow up I want to visit Mercury. Hell Yeaaaaaaaaaa

  • you only see the northern lights if you are at the very top of canada, sad thing were located at the very south, so no cool lights for us

  • watch the movie "Sunshine." I highly recommend it.

  • 800+f in the daytime but what is the nighttime temp.. they didn't say. So if a day on mercury is about 6 months on earth, you could land on the night side of the planet with specialized suits and spend a good week on the planet.

  • What a sight to see. Youtube needs to build a probe to send there for the real shots!!

  • Thats amazing!

  • "8x as hot" - the 0 to 100 degree Fahrenheit temperature scale is just a relative measurement. Since absolute zero is around -460 degrees F, Mercury is really less than 3x as hot as earth

  • So not true. that is a lie.

  • Fahrenheit Earth - 80 degrees Mercury - 800 degrees 10x as hot Celcius Earth - 27 degres Mercury - 436 degrees 16x as hot? Kelvin Earth - 300 degrees Mercury - 700 degrees 2.3x as hot?
  • Good point.

  • NicE-

  • wooo!!!!!!!
