Isn't it great that miley cyrus and all those other talentless money making machines get millions of views and true artists like these fall to the wayside...
metalla who? iron what? mega where? rob zom huh? NO band has ever or will ever compare to this group. i have always theorized that the US government shutm down in one way or another, being that alot of their lyrics were anti establishment. but of course im a conspiracy theorist. lol
@FUGYOO i agree with you wholeheartedly, they did speak about a lot of conpiratorial stuff....Queensryche in my estimation are a supergroup alongside Hawkwind and supertramp.....they were very open about the political affairs of the world....the government defo shut em down, there is power in music.
@Jeffabaray Too Right. Apparently they got around it by omitting the work "fuck" in the lyrics as the PMRC had armies of people scouring albums, especially from metal groups for anything their anally tight, rod gripping puppet masters told them to think was "offensive". As it's metal their "oh so sensitive" ears couldn't be exposed to The Music of The Devil for more than milliseconds before reaching for an hour of The Osmonds, so it was never picked up. Thus, Operation Mindcrime :-)
Operation Mindcrime I played to death and I wish they hadn't waited so long to release Mindcrime 2, its good but the sound and Geoff Tate's voice changed in production. Regardless, Queensryche rocks!
They can not make a bad tune! I Swear they are Gods from Heaven! I love this music more than any other in all of humanity! Beautiful voice! Wonderful words! Amazing! Just Amazing!
The first Queensryche i heard was Silent Lucidity and to be honest didn't like it that much. Then i heard this album and i became a queensryche fan forever
I remember the promiseland tour . At jones beach in NY... They played this album as well as promiseland a rare 2 hr. Show.. Type O opened for them.. Best concert ever.. Where is this talent today?
@danfrankjr666 apparently everyone thinks talent is doing fucking drugs, smacking women, and going to prison, i hate here music has gone, this is just to amazing for words especially the sotry its based on
In your face, powerful and intelligent. It's like a musical storm you get caught up in. Live Crime my favorite. Must be how they mixed it...they play so clean, clear highs and awesome low end. Scott R. is awsome...I miss Chris De Garmo too though to agree with another post.
I'm not so sure this isn't the album version. Wow, right after I typed that Geoff Tate said something that hyped up the audience right before the guitar solo. I stand corrected. I shouldn't be surprised. I saw them on this tour twice so I know how good they sound live. Queensryche was/is the thinking man's metal band. They were the perfect mix of progressive and metal.
Scott and Eddie are so underrated, they deserve so much more credit for their work. Scott was always one of my favourite drummers, and Eddie is amazing me more and more after every listen. With Geoff caliber in the band it's hard to be noticed, but they deserve way more credit. Respect, guys!
If I was stranded on a island , this is my 1st pic ! Ya better live! Saw them in t.o , empire/ mindcrime tour, beyond amazing! Oh ! by the way , whats degarmo doing these days! would love some feedback!
@BradRiffs I know. Aside from being a great guitarist, Chris was phenomenal on back-up vocals. I'm beginning to realize more and more how integral his back-up vocals were to the band's live performances. Is there anyone else who can harmonize with Geoff like Chris?
Its either Queensryche Operation: Livecrime or just Operation Livecrime. I just asked the woman working at suncoast pictures and she picked it out here in Pa It was 25 bucks. If u live in the us you should know what suncoast pictures or fye is
DOMAGE!
@kyndred2008 i personally think it's becomming a bit of a trend to say this one if your fave. my faves are Rage and Promised Land. I still love this one, it's just not my fave.
@j800r i really dont think its a trend to love this album the got great albums i must say ,was the first time i heard queesryche and its wen i discovered them ,
@kyndred2008 that's fair enough i guess. Promised Land was my first Queensryche album. It's also my fave (along with Rage) so i guess that's kinda the same thing.
Geoff's vocals are still fantastic to this day. Obviously, they've changed quite a bit, but he can still belt them out when he wants to. The guy is a legend.
Floyd spoke of political upheaval as well. As on Animals; ie. Pigs

How they got these lyrics past the PMRC is beyond me. Relevant as ever in 2011.
I remember when I bought the vinyl the day of release. I listened and read that thing from start to finish. It sent chills up my spine. Great record!

many times...if your musicians are very talented...the studio just cannot handle what they can put out and they will undoubtedly be better live.
