  • Very delicate interpretation!

  • Very nice, but you missed some wonderful lyrics Alan.

You've been fooled into thinking that the finishing end is at hand

Yet there's no one to beat you, no one to defeat you cept the thoughts of yourself feeling bad.

I've heard you say many times that you're better than no-one and no one is better than you.

If you really believe that, you know you have nothing to win and nothing to lose

  • great version. So moving. Great voice from Alan.

  • Repeat...,repeat...,repeat....,favorite!

  • At one stage Alan Price worshipped Bob Dylan. You can see this for yourself in the film "Don't Look Back." You can also see Bob Dylan put him down, but then again, in that documentary, about Dylan's tour of England in 1965m, Dylan had a pretty good time putting everyone around him down. That's a shame, because this is a really nice version of a Dylan song. Price has actually done quite a bit of covers and they usually exhibit really good taste. Check out the ones he does with Georgie Fame.

  • My sisters name is Ramona

  • why would someone with such a fantastic voice, leave out the best verse?

  • How a fantastic singer like Mr; Price with a voice like a foghorn can sing gentle, soft and with feeling ! Beautifull !

  • @MrALF423 yes but he left out the finest written verse

  • Magnificent, gentle interpretation. Maddie

  • This is a great version. Really heartfelt whereas Dylan's genius was to sing it offhand, throw away - the point being that a song as great as this can have many interpretations.

  • No sense in trying, to deal with the dying

Though I cannot explain that in lines

Always thought were some of Dylans best lyrics even though I've been a fan for over 40 years great version thanks for the post

  • Leave it to those with talent mate! An insult to a beautiful song!

  • This is beautiful. What an interpretation of a brilliant song and it brings such meaning to the words.

  • @frazerworld listen to sinead lohan sing it

  • Alan Price - simply the best

  • Thank you for your kindness, your sense of beauty, a great tribute to life.

  • schön erlich... ich mag normal keine dylan cover, aber das hier is ja top

  • What a wonderful voice.

  • hah this is kinda odd but my name is ramona xD haha

    what a sweet song

  • I don't know who you are, Alan, but I didn't expect a "near Sinead" experience. That was so tender.

  • he is only one of the greatest british musicians, pianist of the animals and graet solo artist, just watch don't look back, it's like three musketeers, dylan, neuwirth and price ;]

  • gd song but i prefer sinead lohan singing it

  • ALAN PRICE - one of the very best! I love this version of Dylan´s song RAMONA. Alan Price won´t be misunderstood - - just love the music!!

  • That is my ambition. To end up like that. Free on a bench...with a book and enough to keep the hunger at bay. And time to watch the beauty of the world. Isn't that piano accompaniment just wonderful. Those butterflies and that hair. So much is expressed in the flesh, before we die and all that remains is a skeleton. That is why living is so precious. So mysterious.

  • The poetry, the diction, the beauty of the images, the eyes, the solitude of the women, the demeanour of prayer, the womanhood, the young girl at the opening sequence, cannot be explained in rhyme. Yet, Price and Dylan succeed. And how free the man resting on the bench must be. Although I work in management, sometimes I feel I might be happier to be in a position like that man.

  • From the LP (LP not CD!) !A Price On His Head" !

  • Unvarnished beauty - just like the songwriter.

  • Beautiful...

  • Very nice slideshow. Thanks for posting.
