  • @m200n i wasn't comparing ?? don't talk so much shite lol a 330d is in a different league to a 306 d-turbo in every single way hey even a corsa 1.7 cdti is faster than a 306 d-turbo so is a mercedes c250 diesel non turbo it has 113bhp and a 2.5 5cyl engine rev's too 5000rpm no bother also the mercedes 2.5 diesel has been around quite a while aswell so no i wasn't comparing a 3.0 6cyl 24v to a 1.9 8v 4cyl with like 90bhp standard LOL

  • @scratchyrice i've actually never read the brochure you should really stop assuming things it just makes an asshole out of you & me ... i don't care if you have respect for me i never asked for any but a 330d re-mapped with a straight through exhaust is going to destroy 306's and a shit load of other cars civic type r beater it'll also beat a m3 3.0 upto 100mph because the m3 sits spinning . tried and tested .. thanks awfully for your comment :)

  • @scratchyrice my point was you can't make an old d-turbo fast c'mon they barely pull away from 1.4 8v's let alone 3.0 24v 6cyl diesels lol with 246bhp and 380lb-ft torque!!

  • @Mr330d A lot of people put garret gt-25 turbo's in these cars, up the fuel supply (the pumps are good for 300bhp), new intercooler and get just over 200bhp and 300lb-ft of torque out of it. When you combine this with the fact the 306 weights half that of a bmw 330d, the peugeot would smoke it. I am personally no peugeot fan, i am a Mazda guy, but I have more respect for people like this than those who just buy a fast car and show it off.

  • @scratchyrice are you right in the head?? you can't have 300lb-ft from a 306 and not upgrade shit like the clutch tire's suspension etc and i would much rather be driving a bmw 330d m sport everyday over a 306 which has a heavy clutch and is well FRENCH| to say the least and i highly doubt the 200bhp from a d-turbo the hdi with them mod's would barely be in that range and as the 306 has a 5-speed box it would still be as slow as shit as you know with all your knowledge right??

  • @Mr330d First off, Yes of course you would have to get a new clutch, better/wider wheels + tires, better suspension, stronger engine mounts and as i've said quite a few Peugeot nuts have done it. Secondly who the fuck gives a shit about top speed? In real world driving you are never going to hit the top speed (unless its about 120mph) its all about acceleration.

  • @scratchyrice there is many roads you can hit 155mph in northern ireland why would you spend all that money on a 306 aka cocks with money! instead of just buying a 330d m sport which is already a fairly quick car?? you're missing my point it takes time and money also to buy a 306 and make it quicker i appreciate people who do it but not to 306's why not go all out and put a 2.7 v6 hdi unit in one i'll leave it to the pro's and tbh if you ever drive a 330d they are amazing :)

  • @Mr330d Because doing an engine swap is the easy way. Just dropping a new engine in is one thing, Trying to get a lowly 90hp car to have 200bhp+ is something else entirely. Yes they spend money on it, But they do it because they actually appreciate the engineering in cars and making them perform better. Theres a difference between that and someone who simply buys a fast car, and thinks they're king on youtube going around saying "My car is this and its got this bhp"

  • @scratchyrice Also adjusting the fuel pump requires a bit of mechanical tweeking, the new turbo + intercooler would be about £1000 all in. Much less than a bmw 330d msport

  • Lol mate, if you remap the 306, u get fuck loads of torque, the gti-6 comes nowhere near to it

  • Just looked on the superchips website. Standard the car is 90bhp and 205Nm of torque. Remapped the car is 113bhp and 259Nm of torque.

    The Gti-6 is 167bhp and 193Nm of torque. Doubt the diesel will beat it though as the Gti-6 has a larger power band. For example an ep3 type-R is 197bhp and 196Nm so will it beat that?

    Granted, the diesel will be quicker than standard but it won't be Gti-6 territory.

    Remap the Gti-6 and it will be even more of a massacre lol

    179bhp and 204Nm

  • well, you can go even further but you might require a fmic or new stronger clutch

    This one can't be remapped, it has no ECU. Boost has to be turned up manually. With 20Psi, induction kit and the exhaust (if he's upped the fueling as well which should be done with boost) then this likely to be around 130Bhp and probably around 300Nm of torque.

    In this state it should still last about 150,000 miles or more, and if driven sensibly will still do 50mpg

  • @hardcoretam 130bhp is veryyyy generous. a tune takes them to around 105-110 depending on the car and the exhaust system only allows the turbo to spool up quicker therefore reducing lag. the induction kit would give a few bhp but the standards aren't very restrictive atall your looking at a max of 5bhp from that and these cars would never do 50mpg, dont forget this is the old type mechanical DI not common rail....

  • @lewbid I've got an old mechanical DI TD as well. That's dissapointing through with the 130bhp being optimistic.

    The 1.7TD Isuzu found fitted to the Astra / Vectra TD usually make around 115bhp with increased fueling, cone air filter and straight through centre section and a little more boost
