This might be redundant info. but you might want to have his kidneys checked. I had two persians and Sammy died of renal failure. I believe that this breed is susceptible to kidney disease. My Sammy and Garfy LOVED water from any faucet, rather than from a bowl.
I love Winston! I wish my Wally (a Blue Persian) could meet him. Adorable. And your editing was very creative, too. I laughed out loud when you found him in the sink ;-)

they can never have enough water. get yourself a lix-it for this cat. all my cats drink from a lix-it. my male persian likes our bathroom sink.
