sorry your wrong there it has nothing to do with power at all you can amake an austin mini with 50 horse into a 200 mile an hr car its about gearing my truck runs the quarter in 12.35 and it ran the show better than a s15 with a vortec max witch is a 400 block with 400 hp its about how you hook up about how your gears are tuned and the max rpm my 360 wraps 9 grand and dose 130kph in first gear when you learn what just swaping gear ratios can do come back and try talking then

and think about it a diesel engine runs 4000 rpm max redline as diesel burns hotter and with a bigger bang it cant handle a high rpm so they change the gears so that the top end speed isnt 150kph power has nothing to do with speed its abourt torqe and gears and yeah a duramax is the lowest rated power for a full size deisle truck power-stroke takes even the cummins by 40 horse and 150 lbs of torqe

9.5 is fast for the average diesel truck. Only fully build race only diesel trucks do 1/4 times like that. Its considered very fast for a well build diesel truck to break into the 11's. Mildly build one do time in the 13-15 range, and stock ones slower. Their are diesel powered dragsters that have broken into the 7's and 6's like the Scheid diesel dragster and a few others.

Regardless is would still rather have a diesel truck that ran the 1/4 mile in 20 sec than a gasser that ran it in 9secs
