This series is quite similar to Wind in the Willows, and also the music. If I'm not mistaken, it's the same composer for both Wind in the Willows and this. I'm not really sure..

the whole thing makes me so happy and sad at the same time.... it was such a beautiful show but now im getting older and those types of shows just dont exist anymore and even if they did i dont hav any time to enjoy them like i used to :) / :(

Thankyou so much for posting this...! Winter nights, orange porchlight at my grandma's house, smell of my grandad's cigar smoke, and this on the BBC (later VHS).

The song is especially poignant, and in 19 years I haven't forgotten it. It's as if the song is a distillation of the Lake District itself. Elemental, drizzly, both quaintly English and epic like a Turner painting.

This is a very existential cartoon indeed! I'm happy that such adult themes (slaughter, repossession etc.) were implied through such adorable animation when I was a kid.

Anyone else here want Miss Potter's house in this? I always did as a kid, i told my mum every-time i watched that i was going to live in that exact house LOL. Its nice to relive my favourite show as a kid, brings back lovely memories and I am glad that i wasn't the only one who got teary at the end song!!!

Glad you enjoyed it! I really loved Beatrix Potter's books as a kid too, I even went to the Beatrix Potter museum and had a photo taken with Mrs Tiggywinkle ;)
