I remember this when I was little! Loved it<3 The song is so beautiful!
This series is quite similar to Wind in the Willows, and also the music. If I'm not mistaken, it's the same composer for both Wind in the Willows and this. I'm not really sure..
the whole thing makes me so happy and sad at the same time.... it was such a beautiful show but now im getting older and those types of shows just dont exist anymore and even if they did i dont hav any time to enjoy them like i used to :) / :(
Thankyou so much for posting this...! Winter nights, orange porchlight at my grandma's house, smell of my grandad's cigar smoke, and this on the BBC (later VHS).
The song is especially poignant, and in 19 years I haven't forgotten it. It's as if the song is a distillation of the Lake District itself. Elemental, drizzly, both quaintly English and epic like a Turner painting.
This is a very existential cartoon indeed! I'm happy that such adult themes (slaughter, repossession etc.) were implied through such adorable animation when I was a kid.
i have the book called Giant Treasury of Peter Rabbit. and its signed by my grannny with the white hair. and the yr is on there when she wrote it . Dec. 1987 i always watched Beatrix Potters series and have the tiny books of Peter Rabbit and friends. and now tonight i bought the whole collection cause i have a Rabbit. Twinkles and a Rat Abby . thinking of Peter the rabbit and sameul whiskers the rat . these bring me back around to thinking of my childhood as well. as they were such memories.

Anyone else here want Miss Potter's house in this? I always did as a kid, i told my mum every-time i watched that i was going to live in that exact house LOL. Its nice to relive my favourite show as a kid, brings back lovely memories and I am glad that i wasn't the only one who got teary at the end song!!!
I'll bet Beatrix Potter's favorite color is blue. Because whenever i read her books or watch episodes of this tv show i see some characters wearing something blue.
she is so cute :) I miss my videos- I just might have to invest in the DVD collection- want my kids to see some good stories- better than spongebob and crap...
Thank you SO MUCH for uploading this! All of Beatirx Potter's work is precoius. I love all of them; I especially liked Peter Rabit and The Tale of Jonny Townmouse. The song "Perfect Day" sung my Miriam Stockley, is amazing. Thanks!
this brings back the most wonderful memories! thankyou! my grandmother taped it on vhs but its really bad quality, do you know were else you can get it?
Glad you enjoyed it! I really loved Beatrix Potter's books as a kid too, I even went to the Beatrix Potter museum and had a photo taken with Mrs Tiggywinkle ;)
I don't know if anybody ever replied but it's in the Lake District which is in Cumbria. I have yet to go, although watching this really makes me want to!

Pig Wig is so adorable in her naivete. I've noticed how Beatrix Potter often used red or blue for the animal's clothes.
